Cornells Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We arrived on time and our table was not ready, heard the hostess talk to a co-worker that they miss-seated others affecting our spot, waited 15 minutes for the mix up to be fixed, were seated in a back room between two large 15+ person group tables that were exceptionally loud in an enclosed room. Waitress was prompt but after appetizers, did not see her for over 30 minutes while we waited for our food, I got up to complain to the hostess, all the while unruly kids were acting up at one of the tables. Meal finally came 45 minutes after appetizers, was warm. Very disappointing.
It was clear when we arrived that the restaurant was very busy - perhaps a larger event was happening, however that is no excuse for the incredibly poor service we experienced. We travel often and have dined often in other cities much larger than Schenectady that are busy each and every day. After placing our order it t
We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Cornell’s on a Wednesday evening. I had the Chicken Francaise, and my husband had the Scallops and Risotto. Both were delicious. We each also had a small cup of Pasta Fagiolo, and an order of Utica Greens and Beans to share, both very good. Service was personable, and efficient. We were warmly welcomed by ever staff member we encountered. Will definitely go back again, and may try their Dinners to Go.
Food was inconsistent - a caesar salad and caprese good, brussel sprouts - amazing. Lackluster calamari fritti . Pasta with chicken and broccoli rabe - flavorless. Chicken dish with prosciutto and a mushroom sauce was very good. Service was excellent - our waitress was lovely. The room was too bright and the tables were all sized for 8, even though we were 3. Looked like a banquet hall rather than a restaurant.
We decided to try a new restaurant in the area near Proctor's for dinner before a show. I am so glad we chose Cornell's. The food was very, very good. My husband and I shared a chopped salad appetizer that was very tasty with Kalamata olives and gorgonozla cheese mixed in. For entrees, I had the cavatelli with chicken and broccoli rabe. The chicken was so tender it melted in my mouth. It was in a white sauce that was perfect, not too heavy, but oh so delicious. My husband had a filet medallion special that he said was excellent. Service was spot on. I definitely want to return to this gem again soon to try other items on the menu. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I highly recommend dining here.
Cornell's has never been one of our favorite local restaurants. We've always found the food to be mediocre, and the service at times abominable at best.
However, as I drove up from Dutchess County for the night, and we were all longing for red sauce Italian, we walked to Cornell's, as I made an OpenTable reservation on my phone.
When we arrived, we decided to sit at the bar, where Amber took very good care of us.
Two ordered ravioli with meatballs, and we received what we expected, but no more. One of us ordered linguini with meatballs, that came with little sauce, and was hardly eaten. Amber took that entree off the check.
Overall, nothing exciting, but then again, we picked very simple items vs something more complex. Certainly Ambers professionalism helped our experience.
From the moment we entered this warm establishment three staff members checked on our well being and made sure we were being attended to. Immediately we knew this restaurant had awesome service. Obviously the customer is well respected here. The food
Was delicious the clam appetizer, the salads were fresh, out dinners were delicious- zuppa di pesce and ling. With clam sauce. Everything was freshly prepared and gluten free and dairy free
Accommodations were made. The desserts were decadent and the after dinner coffees hit the spot. This was a wonderful dinner experience and our waitress was super warm and attentive to us. What a great find!!!
We greatly enjoyed our dinner at Cornells. The food was delicious. The variety of selections was excellent. We most enjoyed the low noise level. Although the restaurant was quite busy we were able to speak to each other in a comfortable, conversational level. We love Cornells and will dine there again soon.
We went to Cornell's for our anniversary. We hadn't been in a while, and I was looking forward to an Italian meal. Our waiter was very attentive and fulfilled our needs. My husband ordered a pork chop meal that was quite creative. I cannot remember the last time he ate pork, but he was extremely pleased that he did (it was the special of the day). I had my heart set on Italian, so I had pasta bolognese, and it was amazing. My only disappointment--and this is trivial--is that we usually order dessert on special occasions, and I had my heart set on cheesecake, which they don't offer. We left without dessert (when I'm fixated on something like I was on the cheesecake, nothing else will do!). If you haven't been to Cornell's lately, you need to go--SOON!
We went for our anniversary, and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent, the food was recommended by the server, and she was spot on. Our choices of bracchiole and chicken marsala were incredible. Our starter of mozzarella caprese salad was unbelievable - highly suggest you try it. Finished with tiramisu. So good, I want to go back already and it's only been a couple of days.
