Delectable sea bass special, delicious utica greens, fabulous polenta & short ribs and pretty much the only desert I ever order anywhere, the lemoncello swirl. On the flip side, the buratta was underwhelming (too much like plain mozz, but that could easily be the supplier), the artichoke risotto, although extremely flavorful, was not nearly creamy enough and they no longer offer carpaccio as an app :-( All in all, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Will return.
Excellent Mother’s Day dinner. Open Table messed up reservation but Cornell’s got us a table quickly.
Excellent cold antipasto, main courses decent. Pasta side cooked just right
Chocolate cake excellent, coffee too. Wait staff, Lisa , was fun. A good Schenectady standard.
We’ve eaten at Cornell’s before but this was truly an exceptional experience. Our meals were perfect: Utica Greens (THE BEST), Chicken Parm and Cod in a piccata sauce with roasted potatoes. Chocolate cake for dessert. Our waitress was great too. It was a perfect place to take my mom for Mother’s Day!
We celebrated Mother’s Day here and had a great table near the front windows. Everything was so delicious and well prepared. Would definitely return here!
We were celebrating Mother's Day. Our server Jess was outstanding. The food was fantastic. It came out hot & looked very appealing. The portions were very generous.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Excellent food and outstanding service. Very consistent place.
Great italian restaurant
Regular eating place. Food is outstanding
Our first time in Schenectady, and we all enjoyed a great meal with excellent service.Best bruschetta ever! If we are ever in the area again we would not hesitate to return
This was our first time at Cornell's. We were celebrating my son's birthday. The service was great, the food even better. Can't wait to go again.
I really enjoyed my meal. Everything was tasty. I especially enjoyed the seasoning on the Italian roasted potatoes. The broccoli was fresh and delicious. Nice selection of wines. Our meals were great and the service was top notch. We had a great evening and made it on time to Proctors for a wonderful show. We are so lucky to live in this area.
We came for dinner before seeing a show at Proctors. The service was slower than I would expect, but the food was well prepared and delicious! My husband had the sea scallops and I enjoyed the veal francese. We will be back next time we see a show at Proctors.
Went for a birthday celebration before a show at Proctors. Service was great and accommodating. The food was wonderful
We go to Cornells before shows at Proctor's. You can always get a late reservation there, and they always ask if you are headed to a show, so that they get you out on time for it. Cornells is about a 10 minute walk from Proctors, which I like. They do have ample parking in the back however, if you are running a bit late. The prices are reasonable, and the seared scallop plate is delicious.
Went there for my birthday we had a party of 6 everything was Delish and we can’t wait to go back
We used to go to dinner here, a lot, then we had a bad meal. We tried it two more times, and we are not impressed- long wait time for food, food over done and service was ok.
This was our first visit to Cornell’s and we were pleased with the selection and quality of the food and service . I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
2nd visit...1st outstanding, 2nd not so good... when we arrived the hostess could not find the reservation and gave that "yeah, sure" look and proceeded to bring us to a "booth" in the bar area...neither my wife or I am are "bar" people...we came for a quiet dinner and did not want to listen to all the bar talk. When I said to the hostess we preferred a table in the dining room (which was empty) she made a comment about all the reservations they had but would see what she could do and "found" us a table. The dinner was fine with no issues, server very upbeat and cheerful. When we left an hour and half later only 3 parties were seated which left 3 empty tables....So much for all the reservations the had... other then the reservation hiccup all else was fine...I still would recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking out a great meal
In town on business, so thought would check out. Vintage Italian restaurant with usual regulars. Food and atmosphere tired, but service was good. Would hope better Italian restaurants in town.
Food and service very good. Drink prices a bit over the top.
My husband and I are a former chef and bartender, respespectively. We ordered a pre-dinner cocktail, appetizers, entrees and a dessert. Everything was excellent! Recommend the veal francese and the chicken marsala, this time.... We will definitely be back! Watch for our next recommendations. Mangia!
The food was excellent but it took a long time to arrive. Mistakes happen and my feeling is that we just happened to be that one time. It was fine other than that. Thae food was rxcellent!!!!!
We are so glad that Cornell's is alive and well. We enjoy dining there. It is hometown convenient with excellent food and service.
Celebrated my mother's 87 birthday there with family, since it is her favorite. The food and service was excellent, and the home made cavitellis are the best anywhere.
They also allowed us to bring in a cake and did a beautiful presentation with each serving.
We have dined here after every trip to Proctors shows. Always had a great experience but this one was not up to our expectations. Not sure why but we had a 7 pm reservation but did not get our food until 8:40; although not in a hurry this seemed a bit too long. Food also came out at various times for the 6 of us. Server did her best and was apologetic. Something surely was not right that night; not sure what and we hope it was an off night for some reason.
For an Italian restaurant food portions were not fair. A ravioli plate had 4 small raviolis. Service was fair.
The food was delicious and the service excellent. Good variety of entrees, particularly for someone who has difficulty deciding. We were seated in the front of the restaurant, sort of between the bar and the emergency door. Would request a different table next time as it felt a bit cramped. We'll definitely be going back.
The food was delicious. Service was a little slow. People that came after we did were waited on before we were. It took quite a while to get our food.
We went there for mother-in-law's 87th Birthday!! They did a very nice job of making her feel special.
Lovely evening with great service and delicious food
Went for Easter and had the ham. I suggest next time they slice the ham thin. Slices were too thick and touch
We enjoyed an excellent dinner at Cornell's. Everything from the soup, salad, both entrees and dessert were just wonderful. The service was great and the price was moderate. What else can
you ask for?
First time visit. Great atmosphere. Great house wine prices. House salads were good portion and very fresh although I prefer more dressing. Chicken Marsala with Rigatoni and red sauce was perfection! Homemade pasta with meatball and sausage was filling and tasty! Bill for 1 house Cabernet, 2 Peroni, 2 Dinner Salads and Two entrees only $70! Overall, great first time and we will return!
It was my son's Birthday dinner turning 19 years old, when I made the reservation the evening prior, I mentioned this to the person on the phone, she said waitresses would sing to him and he would get a piece of cake/desert. I guess it just slipped through the cracks and someone there just forgot. It's ok, we had a cake for him and sang to him when we got home.
I was taking my 4 yr old granddaughter to a show at Proctors. The staff was very attentive and polite. The food was delicious. She had the childs' portion of pasta, she was thrilled to butter her own bread and very happy it was warmed! We shared shrimp cocktail, I had calamari and artichoke fritters, very good! At the end she had a mishap and spilled a glass of water; no problem, the staff was right there to clean it up. A very nice dinner before the show and a good experience for my granddaughter at a nice restaurant.
Excellent food and service
Food was wonderful . Hostess was not the friendliest upon arrival, and seemed upset I asked for a different seat even though restaurant wasn't full. Waitress very sweet but 2 others at our table received different sauce on their meals from what ordered. Because food was of good quality, we'll give it another chance!
Made reservations for 6:15pm before an 8:00pm show at Proctors Theater. We were seated on time and made it to the show with time to spare. The food was excellent and the service was awesome!! We will be back for sure!
Specifically dined at Cornell’s for Schenectady restaurant week. The $25 three course special menu for the week had great choices and was a good value. Everything was delicious.
Our waitress had great customer service.
Pork osso buco was very tender. Desert was delicious.
