I have always liked and enjoyed Cornells but our recent experience was terrible. We wanted a leisurely dinner but after we ordered, it took an extremely long time before the entree was served. Apparently there was a significant problem in the kitchen (which we were not told about either from the server or the manager until after) and when our dinners finally were served they were horrible. My entree, which I was familiar with from past dinners there, was nothing like it should have been. Poor quality ingredients and awful. Cavatelli entree was awful with a meatball that was frozen and inedible. Salad was ok and drinks were good but all else was unacceptable. A very disappointing evening.
Food quality average. Over-priced. Serving portions smaller than expected.
Service was exceptional and the meal was excellent!
Never disappointed when dining here. Excellent food, wine and service!

Tried a new dish "Fettuccini with Grilled Chicken, Shrimp, Scallops, tossed with spinach, fresh tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, garlic & basil broth". The best part was the flavor of grilling rolling over into the flavors. Everyone at the table enjoyed there apps, dinner and desert!
This was our first visit for dinner. We had attended a party there once before and the food was so good we wanted to go back for dinner. We were not disappointed as our meal
was excellent! We will definitely be back!
We went to Cornell's for my son's birthday dinner. The food was very good, our server was excellent. My husband LOVED his meal! We will definitely be going back.
Great food and service. Authentic Italian food and good value. Nice setting.
The salads, entrees and dessert were all exceptional. The house salad had crumbled blue cheese which was a nice addition. I had the swordfish with mango salsa. Waitress was friendly and attentive.
Excellent food and service on what seemed to be a pretty busy Saturday night. Our waitress was knowledgeable in both food and wine, and made good recommendations for each of us.
Very pleasant attentive waitress
We had a party of 8. The table was ready when we arrived. The food was great! There are a lot of fish dishes offered, but great other choices if you are allergic. My water glass was never empty! The staff and service were quick and the food was delicious.
Thank you . It was fantastic. We were not rushed at all. the waiter accommodated our special requests
When my wife and I go out for a decent meal there’s two things that drive us crazy is when someone asks us if were still working. Why because were not working we’re out enjoying our meal if we were working we wouldn’t be there eating. Second, when we cash in the money in Envelope they should not ask if we need to change or a for all sat they should say I’ll be right back with your change and it’s our prerogative to answer and say no it’s all set. Those two comments happened and it drives us crazy. Other than that is a great place good food and etc.
My wife and I were very pleased with our hot appetizer for two served with garlic bread, the main dishes and great service by our waitress, Liz.
Food was excellent. Unfortunately, service was not good. Very slow with replenishment (beverages).
Great Food, Great Service and Open Table Reservation works great.
Our first time here and we were very impressed. The menu had many enticing selections that made it difficult to choose. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The food and service was excellent. We will definitely return. Great place for pre theater dinner.
A rare combination of exceptionally good food and excellent wine at a reasonable price in comfortable but classy local restaurant.
Excellent food and just as important, excellent pacing. Didn't feel rushed to finish our appetizer prior to the salads coming and didn't feel rushed to finish our salad before our entrees came. Waiter was attentive, even though he was quite busy. Enjoyed our Anniversary dinner at Cornell's very much. Thank you!
Impressive menu of excellent Italian dishes. Nice selection of wines. Relaxing, casual atmosphere. Never been disappointed with the food or the service.
Delectable sea bass special, delicious utica greens, fabulous polenta & short ribs and pretty much the only desert I ever order anywhere, the lemoncello swirl. On the flip side, the buratta was underwhelming (too much like plain mozz, but that could easily be the supplier), the artichoke risotto, although extremely flavorful, was not nearly creamy enough and they no longer offer carpaccio as an app :-( All in all, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Will return.
Excellent Mother’s Day dinner. Open Table messed up reservation but Cornell’s got us a table quickly.
Excellent cold antipasto, main courses decent. Pasta side cooked just right
Chocolate cake excellent, coffee too. Wait staff, Lisa , was fun. A good Schenectady standard.
We’ve eaten at Cornell’s before but this was truly an exceptional experience. Our meals were perfect: Utica Greens (THE BEST), Chicken Parm and Cod in a piccata sauce with roasted potatoes. Chocolate cake for dessert. Our waitress was great too. It was a perfect place to take my mom for Mother’s Day!
We celebrated Mother’s Day here and had a great table near the front windows. Everything was so delicious and well prepared. Would definitely return here!
We were celebrating Mother's Day. Our server Jess was outstanding. The food was fantastic. It came out hot & looked very appealing. The portions were very generous.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Excellent food and outstanding service. Very consistent place.
Great italian restaurant
Regular eating place. Food is outstanding
Our first time in Schenectady, and we all enjoyed a great meal with excellent service.Best bruschetta ever! If we are ever in the area again we would not hesitate to return
This was our first time at Cornell's. We were celebrating my son's birthday. The service was great, the food even better. Can't wait to go again.
I really enjoyed my meal. Everything was tasty. I especially enjoyed the seasoning on the Italian roasted potatoes. The broccoli was fresh and delicious. Nice selection of wines. Our meals were great and the service was top notch. We had a great evening and made it on time to Proctors for a wonderful show. We are so lucky to live in this area.
We came for dinner before seeing a show at Proctors. The service was slower than I would expect, but the food was well prepared and delicious! My husband had the sea scallops and I enjoyed the veal francese. We will be back next time we see a show at Proctors.
Hubby and I went pre-theatre at Proctors. Both meals were v good. Excellent service. V God Food. Place was very clean. Even the restrooms. Parking lot good size , adjacent and off street, 5 min drive from theatre. Nice ambiance. Will definitely go back.
Went for a birthday celebration before a show at Proctors. Service was great and accommodating. The food was wonderful
We go to Cornells before shows at Proctor's. You can always get a late reservation there, and they always ask if you are headed to a show, so that they get you out on time for it. Cornells is about a 10 minute walk from Proctors, which I like. They do have ample parking in the back however, if you are running a bit late. The prices are reasonable, and the seared scallop plate is delicious.
Went there for my birthday we had a party of 6 everything was Delish and we can’t wait to go back
We used to go to dinner here, a lot, then we had a bad meal. We tried it two more times, and we are not impressed- long wait time for food, food over done and service was ok.
This was our first visit to Cornell’s and we were pleased with the selection and quality of the food and service . I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
2nd visit...1st outstanding, 2nd not so good... when we arrived the hostess could not find the reservation and gave that "yeah, sure" look and proceeded to bring us to a "booth" in the bar area...neither my wife or I am are "bar" people...we came for a quiet dinner and did not want to listen to all the bar talk. When I said to the hostess we preferred a table in the dining room (which was empty) she made a comment about all the reservations they had but would see what she could do and "found" us a table. The dinner was fine with no issues, server very upbeat and cheerful. When we left an hour and half later only 3 parties were seated which left 3 empty tables....So much for all the reservations the had... other then the reservation hiccup all else was fine...I still would recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking out a great meal
