Cork Bar & Restaurant
Everything we tried was delicious - eggplant appetizer and pasta dishes. Server were very good. Would definitely recommend.
Extremely subpar service. Which was noted in multiple reviews. Portion size good; almost too much. Expect to spend hours if you do go.
Awesome food and service!
They turned OFF the LIGHTS on us as my party of 5, still clearly seated, was harboring our put away boxes. We hadn’t paid our bill yet, awaiting our server ....nonetheless still tipped well. I was granted a dessert not of my choice for that inconvenience, after all 25th birthdays do only come once. Didn’t eat it though, might have been spit in it. Just my blatant opinion
Excellent service great ambiance and a real gem in the middle of Wilkes-Barre.
Good and service were very good, and deserves to be complimented. We chose to eat indoors because of humid, stormy weather. There was a large party near us which raised the noise level to a point where it affected our ability to converse and impeded the enjoyment of the meal. I think the location in an old house offers some charm but also limits what they can do with seating.
Hated the outdoor seating under the tent on blacktop. Food was only ok. Service was only ok... we were constantly out of water.
Big fan of Friedman restaurants (like an every-weekend thing), but in no hurry to return to Cork.
The place is small inside so we were seated outside under a huge tent. Although it was cold and rainy, we were seated beside a heater that kept us surprisingly warm. The food was amazingly good (toffee cheesecake not pictured) and the entire staff were pleasant. Shockingly, another guest paid for our entire meal but wanted to remain anonymous (thank you 10x over to whoever you are)! I would definitely go again the next time I visit Wilkes-Barre.
We went to Cork to celebrate Mother’s Day. We ate in their large tent outside, which felt very safe, and everyone really loved their meals. Great experience overall!
I wish I knew we were going to be outside before I booked
Excellent as always! Will continue to go back as often as possible!
Despite so many recommendations from others, dinner was nothing special. The short ribs were nothing more than dry pot roast. My husband barely choked down his chicken. Won’t be returning.
Our server was very attentive to our table. The food was excellent. We’ll definitely be back soon.
Food is always very good. Service is always slow lately
Was intown for a pickleball tournament with friends and decided to try this place out. it was fantastic. home made pasta , deserts everything from the drinks to the desert was delicious.
We had a table in the outside tent so we were a bit chilly from the waist down. Used a coat to keep my legs warm and my coat got very wet. I didn’t realize the ground was wet from snow melting and running down the parking lot.
Great food. Good service. Environment is good for Covid issues.
The service was wonderful and the waitress and staff went above and beyond
Had a very good meal at The Cork. Food was excellent and portions were very generous. We were seated outside in a big tent - it was very cold that night so it was a little chilly in our section of the tent, and service was bit slow, but it was Saturday night on Valentine's weekend so we were fine with it. Would definitely go there again.
First time there. Won’t be back. Food was decent. Service was awful. Waited 20 minutes for menus. Over an hour for appetizers, they forgot salads, meals came on cold plates and like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. Warm on top, cold through out. Watched the bartender take straw-fulls of beverages she was making. Kept touching her mask to pull it down to talk to wait staff. Very disappointed for a place we traveled an hour to get to.
My husband and I had a great experience at Cork. The drinks were creative as was the menu. Both the specials and the regular offerings were interesting, tasty, fun, and a departure from the same old same old we see at many restaurants in this area. We share the edamame dumplings which were crisp with a tasty filling, and served at the perfect temperature. My husband has a pulled short rib pappardelle, and I had an eggplant special. Everything was perfect including the Sicilian rum cake for dessert. I would go back for that cake alone! The ambience was inviting and fun, we are so glad we went
Wasn’t happy when the waitress moved a heater in the tent to accommodate another table to help keep them warmer. We were sitting right next to the opening and were very comfortable until the heater was moved and then we’re freezing. If you have heaters strategically placed then they should be left that way. Otherwise everything else was excellent!
We were very well pleased with our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. My wife is looking forward to returning on her birthday.
This was our first dining experience here but we likely won't return.
Service was not desirable. The long waits were understandable due to the long walk out to the tent, but the servers attitude wasn't spectacular. She was condescending at times.
Our entrees were disappointing, and heads up everything tends to be much sweeter than you would expect. The highlights of the night were the Blood Orange Moscow Mule and the lobster dip. (It was delicious!!)
The price was comparable to other Friedman restaurants, but it did not hold up to the same standard. I would much rather eat at Kevins, Gricos, Fire & Ice, etc.
Excellent food! Great service
Great as always. Love this place.
Always a great experience at cork!
We were one of the last tables seated on the night we went. Did not see a server for 15 minutes and we heard the servers discussing which one was going to take our table. Awkward. Not sure what happened in the kitchen but our dinner did not get to our table until an hour and a half after we ordered. Great place but a disappointing experience.
Great food, service and value. We keep coming back. Reservations are a must, the igloos and tent were full by 7:00 pm. Although we ate inside, I noticed that the heaters under the tent made it surprisingly warmer than I would have expected. Do not be put off by being seated under the Big Top. The servers seem to enjoy their work and are very personable. We never feel rushed and our dishes are served at an excellent pace.
Hostess sitting tables very rude. Only table left was outdoor and tried to convince it wasn’t cold but everyone wearing jackets. Probably won’t go back because of the snobby attitude when I said to cancel the reservation.
I've had dinner here a few times and it was always great, last night was absolutely horrible, there were only 6 tables,2 were leaving, the service wasn't good at all,(I think he was new),not attentive, didnt offer 2nd bottle of water,I finished my husband's, I only had half my dinner because I was saving room for dessert but didnt come check back until I was fed up and just ready to leave, I had to ask someone else for box and check, didnt come back for check, we just left money on table,I wanted to pay with card but after 5 minutes of waiting...also, up charged $7 for small salad added on to dinner, ..our last time dining here...do better cork
We went to Cork for my birthday dinner. We discovered this place in the summer and really enjoyed everything! It didn’t disappoint. The meal is always so amazing from the crap dip to the bread and butter! I had the chicken Franchise with a side of steamed broccoli. Delicious and even had some for my dinner the next day!
I would recommend this place for anyone who wants a great meal but make sure you go there hungry!
We ate inside and the restaurant was very, very dark. The service was great, our waitress was very sweet! The portions were huge; however the pasta dishes come with a side salad - if you choose to switch it to a Caesar it is a $7 up-charge , yes, so basically the actual cost of an additional salad. Our waitress notified us it would be an up-charge but we assumed $1-3, not the cost of an additional salad. So beware the up charge costs I felt that was a robbery! Aside from that everything was delicious and went well.
Always great food at Cork Bar and Restaurant! They have great seafood, italian, and steaks. I had braised shprt ribs with marsala sauce over gorganzol rissoto. So good!
The service was good. The atmosphere was quaint. The wine was good. The food was not very good at all. The Nashville bites were overcooked and dry. The eggplant appetizer was not very good either, the risotto was mushy and lacked flavor.
Nice dinner, outside seating.
As returning diners post reopening due to COVID, we were not sure what to expect. Our server, Phil, was extremely good natured and to our delight tolerated my lighthearted sarcasm. Our meal was prepared to near perfection and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
The ONLY drawback was being seated in the parking lot. The passing traffic and occasional slight breeze made the experience "unique". We will certainly return and perhaps opt for patio seating. We can't wait to get back inside! If you have not been to Cork, go. If you have been before, return.
Salmon was slighty over cooked, pricy, and unfortunately I find the place loud- voices always carry in there.
