Cork & Table
Enjoyable evening, food was good staff was excellent.
Food was wonderful and service was superb. Great value.
Came with my best friend to corks and table for a girls night dinner. The 4 course menu with the wine pairing was absolutely amazing! I had the crab and corn soup, The second course portobello mushroom was out of this world good, the salmon for the main entree and the chocolate espresso pudding for dessert. Each course came with its own wine pairing and paired beautifully. Even the red wine with the salmon I thought was different but it was smooth enough to compliment the dish! Restaurant was nice and quaint, not a walk in kind of place so book your reservations early. Only down side was the ventilation in restaurant wasn’t the greatest. Their fire alarm went off while we were there and the smoke was not thick but stuck around long enough for our eyes to burn. Over all I think their service and meal compensated for the lack of ventilation.
A little gem in downtown Fredericksburg. Wonderful food and service. Had the four course with wine pairing. Excellent meal and value.
Fabulous meal. Wine pairings were splendid. Will definitely be back!!
This was our second time here and we brought some friends. Everyone enjoyed the food and wine pairings and the atmosphere. The three course meal was fantastic and well priced.
I travel quite a bit for work and we are blessed that my wife is able to join me on most of the trips. We came to Fredericksburg to stay for the weekend after a business conference in DC. I am a history fan and wanted to see several of the sites close by so we stayed at a local B&B for the weekend. I had made reservations at Cork & Table on Yelp based on the menu.
We both chose the 4 course fixed price option. The corn and crab soup was great to start. The second for me was the portobello mushroom which was also fantastic. The smoked duck breast my wife got was even better! For the main, I had the Wagyu filet which was amazing. But, the star was the venison tenderloin Lori ordered. I have prepared and eaten venison for more that 30 years and this cut of meat was the best I had ever tasted. We both agreed that this meal, in sum, was better than any we had ever had in NY, LA, Chicago or anywhere else! And for about half to a third of the price, including wine.
The meal was so good we canceled our Saturday night reservations for another spot and came back. For the duck and especially for the venison. When we get home to Texas I am thawing out the blackstrap and will see if I can even come close to replicating this amazing dish. All around, the best restaurant food we have found. Rachel was great, too!
My husband and I recently moved to the area and have been looking for a five star dining experience. We have found a few nice spaces but had the extreme pleasure of dining at Cork we are already planning our next trip!
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there. The food, service and wine pairings were excellent.
Food & service were excellent! We will be going back.
The food was amazing! The only downfall was the smoke from the kitchen.
Overall, a great evening at Cork & Table. Our service was super. My husband I ordered different three course options. My crab and corn chowder, Asian stew with garlic shrimp and dark chocolate pot de creme were fabulous! So good! My husband had the same dessert (glad I did not have to share mine!), but he had the salad and the chicken breast with Brie and shiitake mushrooms. The meal was good, cooked to perfection and yummy accompanying sides, but he thought the chicken needed more flavor. Our daughter had the flatbread with steak and Brie and the creme brûlée for dessert. Excellent! The ambiance is nothing special, but they do need to do something about the smoke. Daughter had to leave before dessert arrived to get some fresh air. Definitely irritated my eyes.
We always enjoy eating dinner at Cork & Table. Each time we go we bring a different set of friends so they can enjoy the experience with us. We love it!
Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Service is great. Would go here again.
Food always very good! Great place to meet friends and talk (not shout to be heard).
On a Tuesday evening the room was quite full but there was only one server which was not enough to provide attentive service. Four of us each had the four-course menu. All the food was outstanding except for one appetizer of smoked duck. 5 small & paper thin slices of tasteless protein sharing the plate with a nice salad make this dish an epic fail - especially for $10. However every single one of our other courses was delicious. The room was very loud most of the evening. Never-the-less, this is still one of our favorite dining spots in Fredericksburg and we will be back.
Once again, a nice evening. Great food and service.
This was our fist time dining here. Our server Tom, was very attentive and did not rush our experience, even though he was the ONLY server that night. The food/wine parings were on point. The meal was fantastic, especially the Crab and Corn Chowder! Will return!
This was the second time that we'd been there with friends. The food is exceptional and reasonable. Definitely would recommend Cork & Table.
A small, intimate restaurant in downtown Fredericksburg. Wonderful food and a superb waitstaff, with very nice wine list. The seating is close, so the conversations can get a little loud, but we always go late (after 9:00 on a Sat nite) and we generally end up with the restaurant to ourselves. We've ALWAYS enjoyed our time at Cork & Table.
Always wonderful food, great wine and enjoyable experience
It was my wife and I's first visit and we were not disappointed!
This restaurant is exceptional in so many areas, that it is a shame it is so smoky.
The odor was embedded in my clothes!
Perhaps management wil consider some change in the ventilation system, as the smoke spoiled an otherwise five-star dining experience.
Food was amazing! Can’t believe it took me 5 years to eat there.
Food was excellent. Every time I go there though, it's smokey. Eyes burning a bit. Perhaps poor kitchen ventilation.
Let me start but saying that I’ve never in my life have taken the time to write a negative review on a restaurant simply because it takes a massive amount of disappointment for me to do so. This feedback is not aimed at the servers who were great and were tipped accordingly. It is aimed at the Chef/Owner/Operator of the place who thinks he can get away acting as as the most unprofessional restaurant dictator. That being said, Cork and Table has by far been my worst experience. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to do the 4 course fixed menu option. The main entree my wife ordered was a medium rare salmon filet which came out well done and super dry. The server was very nice and apologized about the situation. Having lost her desire for the salmon, she decided she wanted to have a different entree to which we were told would be fine. What happened after was the most unrealistic situation I’ve ever experienced due to the worst customer service by the chef and owner of the place. It took 15 minutes after the food was sent back for them to tell us that we would have to pay for the other entree and asked us if we still wanted to do that (by that time I was done eating). I have absolutely no problem playing for a different entree (I shouldn’t have to due to not getting what we ordered) and, but it should have been done right away not wait 15 minutes until I was done eating. I came up to the registered and asked if we could please just pay for whatever it was that we needed to pay so we could leave. They charged us individual prices for what we had eaten even though with the fixed menus, they are smaller portions and less expensive. At that point, the rude chef/owner came out to instruct the server to print the check individualized. He did not even look at me or apologize for ruining our anniversary dinner experience. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone due to the lack of professionalism and customer service from the chef and owner.
Food was amazing, corn and crab soup full of perfectly picked crab and sweet corn, filet done to perfection and toffee bread pudding was to die for
Fabulous food and great service. Best meal I’ve had in Virginia in the past 12 years!
Even during Restaurant Week the food was excellent, the service was efficient and the overall experience was superior. I just wish the overly casual ambiance matched the quality of the food and service.
While I would recommend Cork & Table to a friend because the food (and wine) was good. The service was just ok and the ambience was also just ok. I was expecting more from the ambience (like better lighting and a more unique look). Plus because of the openness of the room, we heard everything the waiters were saying to each other and it was louder than I had hoped.
We have eaten there a few times over the last year and The food and service is consistently excellent.
Excellent food and service. We will be back. not real intimate close tables pretty noisy but, food worth it .
Fantastic find in Fredericksburg! We searched “ Find Me Gluten Free” and Cork & Table popped up. It was a fantastic meal! They did a great job with reviewing GF options and suggesting wine pairings. Unfortunately, we do not live in the area but will most definitely go back as we are passing through.
On the spring with dinner, I couldn't help but think of that song; " Is that all there is! "
Service was great! Food was great! Atmosphere was great! The Cork and Table was great!
Restaurant week, the food, as always, was top notch. Service was great and wine selection fabulous. Wish they had dairy up the restaurant week menu, same as always. Ambiance wasn’t anything other than average but if you want a great meal it doesn’t disappoint.
We went for local restaurant week. I had always heard this was one of the top restaurants in Fredericksburg. The menu was limited of course due to restaurant week. The entrees were essentially sea scallops and wagu’ beef medallions. (There may have been a vegetarian option-don’t recall). The service was very efficient. The restaurant had a fairly thick haze of smoke in it which bothered my eyes even after I got home. It seemed as if there was inadequate ventilation, although I’m not sure if that was the case. Portions were very average (5 scallops or 5 oz meat). I don’t have a specific issue with the meal, other than it was just okay. Nothing that really caused any of us to say “wow.” Would likely only go back if someone really wanted to go there, or if I ran out of other restaurants to try. Bottom line: give it a try and form your own opinion. Hopefully the ventilation issue will be resolved.
Wow. This meal was as good as any I have had worldwide. What a find!
