Cork & Cap Restaurant
very nice atmosphere and food was delish. we go everytime we are out in PA
I have been to the bar and have had bar food on many occasions but have never come for brunch. After waiting 10–15 minutes we had to approach the hostess to see if there was a waiter for our table. Once the waiter came the rest of the time he was very attentive. We were able to catch up with each other without feeling rushed. In fact, we lingered for awhile after our meal and felt comfortable doing so. We both enjoyed our meals very much.
The restaurant is in an old converted glass factory. The refurb is amazing. The brick and stone work with wood beams on the ceiling made for a beautiful setting. The food was incredible and our service was top notch. Highly recommend!
This restaurant had great food, a friendly staff, great cocktails, an awesome setting, and was a perfect location to celebrate my husband’s birthday lunch. We will definitely go back to try the dinner menu!
The drinks were very good as were the appetizers of pierogis and salad.
It took a while to get our entrees which were good but not exceptional.
It took over 1/2 hour to get our dessert.
We were told it had been "taken" and it was still another 15 minutes.
We were there late and it was not that crowded.
It was our first visit; I am not sure I would return given the number of other options in the Lancaster area.
Celebrating our kids birthdays so wanted it to be special. There were six of us. While the company was great, the dining experience was disappointing. We could have gone to a chain like Olive Garden and got better food and service for less money. Took 20 minutes for drinks before even ordering dinner, then dinner arrived another half hour later. Both steaks ordered MR were MW. Server spent more time chit chatting with a table of what appeared to be acquaintances than checking on us or updating our order status. There were 6 of us and only 5 rolls were brought to the table-not necessarily a big deal but speaks to lack of attention to detail. There were more empty tables than filled so it’s not like it was busy. When you spend close to $400, you expect attention to detail, good food, and an attentive server.
I had the pork chop and it was delicious!!
My pairing was a Manhattan cocktail which I think it was also really good but I would not have it with the pork chop I will go with a white wine, Chardonnay...
I’ve been wanting to eat here for a very long time so my soon to be husband made reservations for Valentine’s Day. We drove 45 minutes and eager to come here, when we arrived they immediately gave us our table even though it was 30 minutes early. Once seated we noticed the glasses were half full with water looking as if someone was already seated there. We waited a good 10 minutes before our server came to us. Then after another 10 minutes the manager came over asking if we had our meals already?? Really ? We had our menus still on the plates. Another 5 minutes passed and the manager along with the server informed us that the kitchen had no power and they did not know how long it would be. We waited a bit longer since we were hungry and it was Valentine’s Day so no way we would be able to get reservations at another restaurant. Once the server came back to let us know that it was going to be a long night due to a minor electrical fire and the kitchen was closing. We had to leave in an empty stomach and drive 45 minutes home. Our Valentine’s Day was ruined, I understand that it was an accident and things happened. But me as a previous restaurant manager I would have handle things differently. I would apologize and provide a gift card for future visit, but nothing was done for us. I am disappointed and will not be returning.
We were placed at the worst table possible, right next to the kitchen with high traffic and noise. Less than 5 minutes after placing our order for a pre-fixed menu that would have meant a minimum of $140 for dinner, the power went out. No one was communicating how long it would be before we would be served, and only upon inquiry (15 minutes later) was it shared that our meals were not being prepared. This was an absolute horror for our valentine's day.
Always a great time here. Food is amazing, great environment, excellent service.
Great experience. Will def go back!
Great food and awesome service. I would highly recommend for any occasion.
Our waiter was doing double duty as a bartender so he was distracted elsewhere alot, so our service suffered. Food was good as usual.
Valentine’s dinner was the best in 30 years of marriage. Delicious food (especially the mashed potatoes!), very nice waiter, great choices on their special Valentine’s menu, great ambience (except our table was a little too close to our neighbor’s). Really enjoyed the evening.
Great location, service and food.
Pleasant overall experience but nothing extraordinarily
I have been to this restaurant several times. I like to take out of town visitors there. The atmosphere is great and you can easily hear conversation. The food is very good, especially the desserts! Wait staff are attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The wait is short to place your order and get your food. Overall, this is a great restaurant.
A lovely and inviting space, it's lit beautifully, if you want a nice and relaxing, romantic space this is great! Food was good, nothing spectacular, but good. Service was very friendly and attentive.
My husband enjoyed his salmon. I had the rosemary chicken, which was excellently seasoned -- just a tad dry, but it's difficult to keep chicken breast moist, of course. The wine list was fine; more options would be appreciated. Loved the key lime tart for dessert!
There for lunch. Great atmosphere and bar tender awesome. Definitely would go back try dinner menu. Highly recommend
Great Ambience. Depending on where sitting may have vent blowing at you. Service excellent. Food very good. Would definitely go back.
Found this this through OpenTable. Reviews were great and helpful. Meeting an old friend 1/2 way between locations and this was the perfect spot!! Service was fantastic! Waiter did not get irritated with us for talking so much and not even looking at the menu. When we did, he had great recommendations. Food was awesome. It was enough too - not too much and not too small. Dining atmosphere really nice - bar looked cool too. Don't hesitate. Good choice.
We are a family of 5, we made a reservation for 7:30, however we showed up 20 minutes early. I apologized when we checked in, however they said it wouldn’t be an issue. We sat at the table for 20 minutes before our waiter greeted our table and offered to take our drink order and we said we wanted to order an appetizers. The kids drinks came about 10 minutes after we ordered, and my glass of champagne arrived at the table with the appetizer about 25 minutes after ordering. We waited 45 minutes from the time we placed our dinner order. About 5-10 minutes before our dinner came out, we were given dinner rolls, since we saw a neighboring table get dinner rolls with their appetizer. Dinner arrived and the food was good, but I think after the lack of service we had, we just weren’t into it at that point. Soda and lemonade for the kids weren’t offered refills until we said the kids wanted to look at a dessert menu. It was just lousy service and it ruined our experience at Cork and Cap. The food was good but not good enough to make want to try it again.
We were seated promptly at our reservation time, ordered drinks and appetizers we got our drinks promptly but our appetizers too over an hour to receive and we ordered 2 soups and the perogies. We complained to our server and the manager. Our main courses too yet another hour to make it to our table. Our server seemed sorry for the delay in our food but the manager didn’t seem sorry at all! They did offer to buy our next round of drinks but after very few appetizers and already 2 rounds of drinks we declined. Two of us couldn’t even eat our meals at the late hour so we got ours to go, the other 3 ladies did eat their meals and were very pleased. I was just for to be tied as we only get together a few times a year and I organize our get together a, I felt so bad that the service was just so terrible! They did “comp” the 2 meals that we took to go and one of the ladies drinks but that’s it! It was just such a shame. Such a restaurant should be used to events and large Saturday evening reservations and be able to make accommodations for such situations. There really was no excuse. I won’t be in a hurry to go back!
Good food good service what more can you ask for
We dined here on Wednesday January 15th. Waiter was solid and on top of things. kept our water glasses filled and checked in often seeing if our drinks needed a refill. Food was good for a modest price. I'd definitely take a client here for lunch again in the future....
Terrific rustic spot in Lancaster. Unique menu, great hand crafted cocktails. Highly recommended!
The food is excellent but the atmosphere really makes this place. The stone and backlighting makes for an elegant yet casual environment. My only complaint was the time it took for the food to come out. We weren't ready to order dinners, but ordered salads to start. The salads took 20 minutes to come out and it wasn't until we got them that the waitress returned to take our order. It then took another 45 minutes for the food to come out. It was all worth it, but we weren't prepared to be there so long.
We went to the Sunday Brunch for the first time. The menu provided a wide variety of choices and each of our selections were very good!
Came here for my wife's birthday dinner. Was outstanding. Look forward to coming back again.
Very good food. Very good staff. Table a bit too close to the door. A bit drafty.
We go annually to have a Christmas brunch with friends. This is our favorite place to go. Always great service, delicious food, pleasant and quiet ambiance.
The ambiance, cocktails and duck were amazing. However our server did not tell us about all the dinner and dessert specials as we overheard the server at the adjacent table. We were also disappointed that a restaurant of this caliber did not have a working cappuccino machine.
Due to sensory and anxiety issues, I specifically requested a quiet table away from foot traffic. I was seated in the bar area, right where many people came in to order drinks. I asked to move to another table, and I was seated near a storage room that was used by the staff to loudly dispose of glass bottles.
It shouldn't have been that difficult to seat me in an appropriate area. I'm assuming that the staff didn't read my request, or they didn't care.
I use to go to Cork & Cap twice a month but had a pretty awful service roughly 9 months ago and stopped. I decided to give them another shot by bringing a client out to lunch but the service was even worst than before. We sat at our table for 10-15 minutes without seeing our server between check ins. When our server did come, he would only listen to one specific thing and quickly rush away. We had an expense account and were looking to order quite a lot of food, but we had to hunt down the server just to get our orders in. Appetizers came out at different times and we didn't have plates so after waiting 10 minutes, I went behind the counter and got my own plates in order to share appetizers with our party of 8. The food took about 30 minutes to come out, plates all came at different times- so we sat for 5 minutes waiting for our full order to come out so we could all eat. During this time, we had to request for our appetizer plates (all which were empty) to be bused as they served the food without doing so automatically. Given our server was barely there, drink refills happened once over the 2 hour lunch.
We all had meeting to get to but couldn't get our check. I got up and hunt down any employee to request our check after we sat for 30 minutes after our meal without anyone checking in.
The restaurant had about 4-8 tables filled while we were there, so that was not the issue. Given this was the second time I have had very poor service, it is very sad to say one of my formal favorite Lancaster restaurants is no longer on my list. The food is still exceptional, I will add that- Keep it up chefs!
Our waitress was Doni . She gave excellent service and was very friendly. The hostess was also very helpful . The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back.
Just very nice. Able to converse easily, food was delicious, service was great.
Wonderful food and service. Our second time here. We will return.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Cork and Cap. I had the filet which was amazing and my husband has the pork chops - also delicious! Would definitely go back and recommend to others! Very cool antiques hanging on the walls
This was our first time to cork and cap but it won’t be the last. conveniently located in Lancaster city with plenty of parking, we found the atmosphere charming and warm. The wait staff was the same, and the food was very fresh and creatively prepared. We found the prices to be very reasonable for such excellent food and service.
