I love this restaurant. I usually go to the upstairs bar for their fixed price menu but this evening we splurged. We ordered the tasting menu and it was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. I have a number of dietary restrictions and Chef Tom and the staff were great about dealing with them. From the baby Kale salad with freshly shaved Parmesan cheese to the smoked salmon tureen and his infamous sushi rice with lightly seared tuna, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. These were only a few of the dishes were were served. Each dish had its own balance with the flavors, textures and temperatures coming together perfectly on the palate. I was ready to lick my plate clean! The adult themed kit kat bars were also a huge hit. The wine recommendation was superb! I'm waiting for his cookbook to come out so I can feast on his sushi rice, one of my all time favorites. I can't wait to go back!

We were quite disappointed in our meal. First courses were great, main courses ver ordinary. There were two mistakes on the bill. And the meal was rushed Friday m beginning to end.

Not my first time dining at Corduroy but it has been a while since I've visited. The food is still delicious and a visual delight, the staff are obvious professionals, however the pacing of the meal felt a sporadic this time. We enjoyed a few half-bottles of wine with the meal but would have preferred a defined pairing with the courses.

This Saturday night dinner with my wife was special in every respect. We particularly enjoyed the exceptional tuna entre, and a relaxed atmosphere which allowed us to hear one another (a too-unusual dining experience)

Went to Corduroy to celebrate our five year anniversary. We loved the location, the ambiance, the service, the atmosphere. The hostess took our jackets and seated us, and we immediately liked the restaurant. Service was a bit slow to begin; not sure why, since there were only a few tables seated, but we weren't in a hurry and didn't mind. If anything it reminded us of eating in Europe a bit. The drinks were good--nothing particularly amazing, but nothing disappointing, either. I think Del Campo has better cocktails, for instance, but I enjoyed my drinks well enough. I had a Blood Orange 75 (tasty) and a St. Croix Mule (good). For our dinners we decided to try the Chef's Tasting Menu for $70 each. This turned out to be a little ambitious--you get quite a bit of food, particularly if you start off with the bread and better. (My recommendation would be to skip the bread, if you plan on doing the tasting menu.) Working from my memory, our dinners consisted of 1) red snapper bisque 2) a tuna tartare with arugula 3) scallops and grits 4) Amish chicken 5) Wagyu beef with spinach and potatoes 6) flourless chocolate cake / apple tart, topped with ice cream There were interesting flavors, and we really wanted to love our meals, but unfortunately many of the courses were too salty. The bisque was too salty, as was the tuna tartare, as was the scallops. The chicken and the beef were fine, though I wonder if it had to do with our palates shifting by that point. The wagyu beef was simply a nice steak--it was not marbeled beef as I had expected wagyu to be. Tender but not buttery, and as someone who used to live in Japan and had eaten plenty of wagyu, I felt like there was some kind of mislabeling going on. I enjoyed the cake and the ice creams, wasn't as big a fan of the apple tart. We had a good time, and we really enjoyed the service, the atmosphere, etc. It's just unfortunate that for the price we paid, we had difficulty enjoying the food.
