Amazing dinner. The wait staff is incredible! Cannot recommend more highly.
Best restaurant in DC! We make a point to come here every trip we make to Washington, DC and recommend it to everyone that is visiting as well. Never disappoints!
Very much enjoyed the restaurant and the food. Will definitely go back.
Excellent food and service, great wine selection, quiet enough for a civilized conversation.
We had a great time here and they made our first wedding anniversary so very special with complementary champagne. The food was delicious. Definitely recommend for a special occasion!
Excellent food and server. Our server was very helpful and his recommendations were appreciated and delicious
Food and service was excellent. I had a roast chicken dish and unlike most restaurants and also what you can buy at the typical grocery store, the chicken tasted like real chicken, a really deep chickeney flavor. Their source is a small farm in Pennsylvania. That alone was worth the visit. Also had the tuna which was also excellent. Overall a good choice, especially for a special occvasion.
The food was absolutely amazing. The corn soup with lobster is a must as was the halibut with a saffron fennel veloute. Next time we will go for the Chef’s Tasting menu - the table next to our had it and made us envious!
Server, hostess, noise and ambience are the best in town.! Food could continue to get better. Thank you. We will continue to go and refer people. Selection of wines needs to be better
The restaurant it’s just amazing, the table and ambience is quiet but elegant, the service just on point very friendly and professional, and the tasting menu the best, the flavors just increased in each course, beautifully presented, an exceptional experience
Our Waitress was wonderful. She answered all our questions, observed us from a distance so that she could refill drinks and keep with our needs but did not interrupt any of our conversations. Her timing was perfect. I asked for her to pair the wine to my dinner choices and she was on point.
I wish I could remember her. She worked upstairs on Friday evening.
Fantastic food and superb service. It’s an expensive meal but really worth This is one of the best restaurants in DC; great cooking; great service ; and a quiet comfortable ambiance.
My wife’s birthday. They gave us a cozy table in a recessed part of the wall...nice and private. Tasting menu was awesome not to mention very reasonably priced considering the ingredients, location and venue. Will return.
The surprise tasting menu was outstanding. Made for a very good, relaxed evening — and great tastes. Good size portions, not just tiny bites.
The appetizers were good. The desert was fine too.
But what made the dinner better were the main courses.
Both the tuna and the lamb were outstanding.
Mind you, not cheap (total was about $100 per person, including a shared bottle of wine)
And talking about wine -- the wine list is extensive. We selected one from Portugal, on the cheaper side - and were very happy with it. As for service, it was OK. Water service was a bit on the slow side. Also, they messed up the desert, but apologized and gave us an interim desert while redoing the one we ordered.
My husband and I loved our first visit here. It's small and warm. As it filled up, there was a great buzz in there. Our server, Byron, was terrific. Our salads were so fresh and tasty and not overdressed. My chicken was very tender and delicious, and my husband's sliced beef was cooked just right, and he loved it. We were already loving our experience, and then came the pistachio bread pudding! Wow! It is just amazing. We will definitely visit again when in DC.
Loved it. Food was excellent, wine list was outstanding
Exceptional in every way!
Everything was delicious, I definitely tried some new things and I was pleased.
Although our food was good, not amazing but ok. I was very disappointed in my evening. We were escorted upstairs as soon as we arrived to a very dingy no atmosphere room. There was zero ambiance! Our waitress looked like she had worn her outfit all week. There one other table right next to us with a couple seated there. Our drinks were average but we were never asked if we wanted a second drink. We had the lobster carpaccio and a heirloom tomato salad. The lobster was very disappointing.. the salad was better. We both had Scallops and Grits. They were actually good but were not very warm when we were served. So disappointed in the entire experience!
Out of town visir
Always great food and service in a charming, calming environment.
Fabulous. Delicious food and quiet with tables a respectable distance apart from each other.
Four of us had a wonderful evening ( July 16, 2019)at Corduroy. We had happily worked together for years. This was our 1st dinner back together. We wanted a beautiful setting, ample opportunity to catch up in a relaxed , no rushed setting and it was exactly that. We avoided any restaurant so noisy we couldn't hear each other. Corduroy was the best possible setting for us. Service was exemplary and thoughtful. The food's preparation was lovely and the food delicious, full of flavor. I had the tuna and loved it! Another guest had the soft shell crab which was divine. We were able to try the beautifully made cold tomato soup, which I would have eaten even more of it was so good. We had 3 different desserts. All excellent. I had the blueberry tart with ice cream Popsicle. I would love to have everything I had over again a number of times. It was truly memorable. Corduroy really comes through as an outstanding restaurant that works well for every possible occasion, or just a great night out.
delicious food, beautifully presented by kind and attentive staff
We were there on a Tuesday night. Our reservation was at 8:30 but we were late due to a severe storm. When we arrived at 9:00 we were the only diners there. At no time did it seem they were trying to rush us so they could close. The server was great and the kitchen was very accommodating on shared appetizers and entrees. The wine list is extensive and the food was very good.
Food was great but very overpriced and that’s probably why there were so many tables, which is a shame because the food and service were really very good! Drop your prices and that will fill your tables and up the sedate ambiance!!!!
This place was great!!! We had the five course meal and it was excellent. Great service as well!
Excellent service. We tried the tasting menu - a great option if you have the time and friends/colleagues that are up for it.
The food and service at Corduroy were both fantastic. They also make a pretty good drink!
Lovely ambience in a great location. Delicious meal, affordable menu.
Service well there was no service. It was excruciating to get wait staff to wait on us. We were in your restaurant 4 hours. Everyone at my table was irritated and this was a client dinner.
Wonderful for a business dinner, Corduroy has a clean design yet the space was cozy. The sound level was perfect for conversation, the service attentive and the food was quite good. The pea soup was tasty and the soft shell crabs were excellent. Other diners had the Heirloom Tomato Salad, the Crispy Crab Blintz and a Scallop special-not a bite was left of any of the dishes. We shared a dessert of berries with creme anglaise and a scoop of ice cream, a perfect way to end our dinner.
Met a friend I had not seen in about 4 years!!
Beautifully prepared food in an understated setting. Attentive and professional service throughout.
The food couldn’t have been more delicious and the service couldn’t have been more accommodating. Our first time here, and we will definitely return!
This restaurant had some of the best service I have ever seen, very personable. The atmosphere as well as the food is fabulous. Excellent wine selection.
Used to be my favorite but this time was a little disappointed .
Appetizer was good but my main dish ( crab) came on a bed of lettuce with water downed dressing.
My hubby’s lamb came with creamed spinach which took half of the plate and water down cream was running......
Definitely not high end restaurant dishes.
Exceptional is always the word for food at Corduroy and this evening was no exception. I had the fried crab blintz - awesome! My husband enjoyed the red snapper soup- made with lobster bisque. It was amazingly wonderful. Main dishes were exceptional as well. A splendid restaurant in every way.
Fabulous experience from beginning to end. Service was consistently attentive, the ambience intimate and quiet, and the food -- everything we tasted -- was top shelf. Very much on our "must-return-to-again" list of culinary faves in a city increasingly known for it.
