The breakfast buffet was AMAZING. We got it every morning and it was sooo good. We also ate dinner there and the short ribs was one of the best meals I’ve had in Hawai’i. Our server Orlando was the best. He was so nice and helpful!

Service was attentive. Food was very good. Tuna and lamb chops were excellent. Had the baked Hawaii for desert and it was a very nice delicious surprise . Prices are high but we are at a high end resort.

Staff was very accommodating when we asked to be seated inside. The food was fantastic, the corn and crab fritters were moist, stuffed with crab and not overly battered. We hard the braised short rib and seared ahi. The short rib was a generously sized portion of beef that was fall apart tender, I didn’t even pick up my knife to eat this meal. The seared ahi was perfectly prepared and the garlic fried rice paired well.

Another outstanding dinner at the Coral Reef in the Sheraton Resort Maui. The Lamb Chops are out of this world. If you're there you must try them. Our server, Nelson is the ultimate professional and provides excellent guidance in a friendly manner. He made our 50th wedding anniversary special the entire week of our stay. Thank You!!!

We had Easter brunch and everything was wonderful! The choices of breakfast and lunch items were delightful and delicious! and so were the desserts! No complaints from my family, just a lot of compliments! The staff was nice and friendly as well! There was a nice breeze flowing through the restaurant too!

I guess this is what is expected when you dine at a resort restaurant. Wouldn’t not recommend this restaurant. It was by far the most expensive meal we’ve had on the island. The ambience was not impressive for the price. The only plus was the open air and view. Would not return.

The setting appeared nice and it looked like a nice place for a fine dining experience. Our waiter, Ruel, was very nice. Upon ordering a pina colada and lava flow as our cocktails he informed us that they don’t serve blended cocktails there. We’re sitting at a table on the the beach in Maui and they don’t serve standard island cocktails? Meanwhile we can see the poolside bar from our seats and we thinking “I bet they make blended drinks there”. I ordered the octopus appetizer and it was very good. For dinner, I ordered lamb chops and they were very good. My wife ordered ceaser salad with grilled chicken. The “grilled” chicken definitely was not grilled. It looked like it came out of a bag of precooked chicken breasts that you buy at Costco and was warmed in some boiling water. If you’re going to sell “grilled” chicken you should at least make sure there are grill marks on it. I asked for some salt and pepper and it arrived in plastic shakers, yes the same kind of plastic shakers you take on the family picnic. Definitely not fine dining caliber. The meal and dining experience were definitely not worth the $178 tab (pre-tip). Much nicer dining experiences to be had at Whaler Village, Longhi’s, etc.. Definitely would not recommend.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal in this open air restaurant against a backdrop of palms silhouetted against a tropical sunset over the Pacific waters, Our server Nelson provided discrete and attentive service. The Mai Tai was excellent. The rib eye melted in our mouths. We will need to return to Maui for another romantic evening here.

The 3 stars is basically because seating was available short notice. But it makes sense. The view of the ocean is nice, and seating isn’t crammed in. Food and service relative to price were not good. It took quite a while to even get water, even with a good staff to guest ratio. Then waiter said he’d be right there and took another 20 mins. Chalk that up to island time maybe. But when we finally got to order, wasn’t much better. My wife ordered the one vegetarians entree, the mushrooms, and said it was incredibly bland. I ordered the fresh catch, which sounded good, but also came out relatively bland, and very tough a dry. Even on Maui $50 was gouging for dry hotel fish that tasted 70% less fresh than in Denver. I know where Sheratons fit in the Marriott family, but this is an Oceanside resort on Maui and this food wuld have been lame at a Holiday Inn Express in Cedar Rapids.

With reservations we were seated outside, it began to rain, we were moved inside, but then service seamed to be hit and miss. Food was just ok, but paying for parking on top of a $150 mediocre meal seemed a bit too much.

We had a great experience and we will go again to celebrate special occasion. Parking is challenging. You have to pay $20 valet parking once you get it validated $5 to the hotel and then tip to the valet attendant. Little bit inconvenience and duplicate of effort to pay two entities.

Maui’s resorts seem to want to foster the illusion for vacationers that the pandemic is over, so they don’t have their employees wear masks. However, my husband and I do wear masks because we have underlying medical conditions. In other words, we do not want to contract COVID-19. We were seated at a table at the edge of a pond, so that the waiter needed to approach us from behind. It made us uncomfortable, and we would have preferred that the waiter wear a mask as he interacted with us, taking our orders, bending over us to refill our water, and serving us. It made us uncomfortable and we hope and trust that we do not contract COVID-19 because of our visit to Coral Reef. However, our waiter could not have been more solicitous. He even made sure that we got a Hawaii resident’s discount, and that our car ticket was stamped. All that aside, the food was spectacular, and while expensive, it was not outrageous. We have eaten in almost all of Maui’s resort, restaurants, because they always have fantastic chefs and interesting food. This restaurant’s prices were within that range. I had the seared furakaki ahi and my husband had the braised short ribs. Both entrées were prepared perfectly, and I don’t know when I have had rice as perfectly cooked. I sent the chef my compliments via the waiter for that rice. It was amazing. One thing we both commented on as we drove home was that the delicious Caesar salad that we split was too skimpy to split. The chocolate mousse dessert, however, was scrumptious, and neither of us could have eaten a whole one. We will definitely eat at Coral Reef again, but we will ask for a table where the waiter can approach us from the front, rather than from behind us.

Beautiful resort. Food was not worth the cost. Flavors were odd. The charred octopus appetizer was tough and had a fake char taste. Also a bit salty. The marlin special seemed pre cooked. Good fish though. The risotto was so so. My hubby had the rib eye which had wonderful flavor, the potatoes were so so, asparagus delicious. The wine list is awful but the well drinks are great. The meringue dessert was weird. Service at dinner and the bar was outstanding.
