The food and service was terrific. Imaginative menu, each dish was interesting and ample. Tapas style, and we over ordered with ten dishes amongst four, but it was worth it to taste all the different dishes. Best tortilla I have ever eaten. The lamb was exceptional , tender and tasty. delicious sardines. It was a rainy night but the seashore views of the fishing boats were lovely. Will definitely return for a summer evening on the balcony.

What a lovely surprise. Our first visit to Coquina and we had a restful, and completely relaxed couple of hours there. The food was delicious. The service and staff were so charming. The location is exceptional; looking out across the dry docked fishing boats and out to sea. Honestly, if you haven't been yet....go! Thank you Coquina 🤩 We'll see you soon.

We had a beautiful time at Coquina - the most delicious food, beautiful interiors and friendly staff ! Truly a new gem in the heart of Hastings Old Town ! Perfect for summer evenings on the terrace or cosy colder nights inside the restaurant with the relaxed music and low lights ! Loved it !

Best view and amazing food. Tapas night on a Thursday evening is my new favourite experience in the Old Town. A range of amazing flavours and dishes - each one exquisite and full of flavour. I can highly recommend and cannot wait to experience this again. Service and ambience perfect too. The view whilst sitting on the balcony is first class.

I wouldn’t recommend Coquina. The food was average at best and poor value for money. The atmosphere felt a bit lifeless. I understand the minimalist decor is meant to let the view take centre stage, but it ended up feeling more like a sparse café than a beachside restaurant. The menu was both limited and unnecessarily complicated. It felt like they tried too hard to be clever with descriptions, which just made it difficult to know what you were actually ordering. The staff were friendly, but not particularly knowledgeable—especially when we asked about drinks. The food itself wasn’t memorable, aside from the fact that it was expensive and the portions were small. I get that sharing plates are trendy right now, but sometimes you just want a proper main course. The local area seems to be going through a small plates epidemic—everyone’s doing them. And unless the food is truly exceptional, it’s hard to justify paying over £20 for a plate of fish and rice with just a few chunks of fish. The space has great potential but the vision is poorly executed.

We shared some of the small plates which were excellent. The aubergine and labneh was particularly memorable. The service was very efficient and friendly. If I was being picky, I would say the hadron peppers needed salt, the wine is quite expensive and the noise level a bit loud and ‘echoey’, but overall very good and we will be back!
