COQUETA - San Francisco
NEW: Coqueta Napa Valley located in Yountville.
Coqueta means “flirt” or “infatuation” in Spanish, and represents Michael Chiarello and his team’s exploration and interpretation of Spanish Cuisine, wine and inspired cocktails, while highlighting the bounty of Northern California.
Reading the 8 reviews below this one look like the same person and same writing style. Interesting enough, they all have such wonderful things to say..
The good: the wine selection was very good.
The bad: I don’t think it would be possible to make the food portions any smaller than they were. We ordered so many plates, which were tasty and unique. But it is always a bad sign when one feels like driving thru jack in the box on the way home because you are still hungry. My mistake was going to the gym before sitting down to eat here.
Service was absent most of the time. Staff was spread thin throughout the place. And the room volume was on the loud side.
Friends in town. Multi course shared meal excellent experience
Visited Coqueta for the second time, but my first in over a year. I absolutely love this place. Each dish was fantastic and our server made great recommendations. As a Spanish wine lover, their list is exceptional. I definitely recommend Coqueta.
I had a lovely 3 hour business lunch and the wait staff was terrific. Can’t wait to go back!
Every time I dine in this restaurant, I get better experience - this is a come back place. Great food. Outstanding service. Bartender is adding the best drinks to the perfect meal!!!
Excellent restaurant for business/client lunch. Enjoyed everything thoroughly.
This place never ceases to deliver - warm atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff and delicious food - a great place to gather and enjoy friends!
Love the food and their spin on Spanish tapas. A bit pricey but as long as they keep up the food quality and taste, will always go back.
I've been going to Coqueta since it first opened and still love it. The best cocktails in town. The food, the location, the decor and the vibe are great. My go to in San Francisco.
What a great experience. The food and drink selection was top notch as was the service. Can’t believe I hadn’t discovered Coqueta earlier!
Had a reservation and did not receive a table but seated at the counter. Service was indifferent and waiter useless in providing recommendations. Octopus was not even eatable. Prices were high and tapas were forgettable. Location is great for a happy hour
Too noisy and hectic for my taste. Not a relaxing time. Had a reservation and were seated at the counter. Told we could have a table if we were out in an hour and 15 minutes. Should have been told in advance if not going to get a table. Felt rushed through the whole dinner and couldn’t hear my companion because of the noise. Food came out a bit uneven so side dish arrived after the main course.
Stephen, our waiter, was phenomenal. Food was above and beyond delicious.
Took my girlfriends here for lunch for a birthday celebration. I’ve been here multiple times before. I honestly love this restaurant because of their amazing food and cocktails, and it reminds me so much spain. The only thing I was missing this day was the little pinxos they pass at the tables, although my wallet was happier that they weren’t LOL. The food is always amazing! And the gin and tonic‘s will knock your socks off they are so beautiful you don’t even want to drink them… Almost
This is my third visit to this restaurant;each time it gets progressively a little worse for the wear; nothing wows me like the first time; everything is consistently tasty but just doesnt have that little something, something. It never seems like the menu selections change and this always puts me in a rut; with such an extensive menu, nothing just pops!
Absolutely amazing experience! My husband and I have dined here often and have always enjoyed it. On this occasion we brought my mother and sister who had never dined here. We had the perfect seating by the window and unsurpassed service by Johnny. In addition to our regular favorites (those small bites on toothpicks, Smokey potato chips, croquetas de pollo, wood grilled octopus) Johnny recommended a few dishes new to us (bikini bioche and sunny side up huervos with baby shrimp) all of which were delicious! Every thing was perfect with my mother claiming this to be the best dining experience of her life and she’s 90!
Johnny the waiter was outstanding and the food was delicious.
Fun place but loud. Octopus is outstanding! Took awhile to get our waiter to serve us, but he was very attentive and helpful once he finally arrived
We love Coqueta for a taste of authentic Spanish cuisine in a vibrant dining space, most often crowded and lively. Having come to the restaurant since its opening, we've noticed that food portions have been reduced in ways that make the plates feel a little skimpy now, particularly for the price. Another complaint is that, because it's often crowded, service can be a little slow. Nevertheless, we love the food and come here a few times a year to get our "fix" of jamon, pan de tomate, pimientos de Padron, gambas and more!
My husband and I hadn’t gone on a dinner date for some time due to a busy summer of travel and camps for our 5 year old. We thoroughly enjoyed every appetizer /tapa, entree and dessert ordered from the lamb meatballs, out of this world grilled octopus, tasty seasoned kale salad, grilled pork entree to perfection and how can we forget the machego cheesecake bites! Our server Stephanie was attentive, informative and absolutely charming. We will return again soon!
Service was great and the food was good.
It was incredible and the food was fantastic
Amazing food but small portions!
After marking in OpenTable that I made the reservation to celebrate a birthday, we were greeted with a warm welcome asking to “be done within the next 95 min to flip the table.”
The pressure continued to rise as we waited at least 10 minutes to place an order for food, as our server was clearly over-seated. When our food was delayed coming out, our server explained that delay was our fault: the kitchen had “freaked out” about our MILD peanut allergy.
While there was a manager working the floor, not once did he check in.
Sure, the food was good. And yes, we escaped within our allotted time frame. But from a value and experience perspective you (yes you, future guest!) can and should do better on the Embarcadero and generally in SF.
Coqueta never disappoints -- we enjoyed a delightful lunch consisting of a variety tapas, which were all very tasty and well prepared.
Excellent always good and always fun. Servers are great!!
Barock our server was outstanding. Attention friendly knowledgeable.
Great tapas dinner and genuine Jamon Iberico! Small place but lovely location.
CAVEAT: the map link on OpenTable takes you to location 1.2 miles away. DONT RELY ON THE LINK
Best place, best food, and great service. Can't get enough
Horrible service and the food was extremely average. The only reason I would come back is for the ambiance and drinks!
The food and beverages were fantastic and the wait staff was awesome. They made several suggestions that enhanced our dining experience. And they knew when to check-in!
Food and service excellent. Not giving 5 because they couldn't seat us for 30 min after our reservation time so we got stuck in the bar for the entire dinner.
We love this restaurant! The food is amazing and consistently delicious. The service and cocktails are also really good and we enjoy having dinner here.
Waiter disappeared for too long during lunch.
Excellent service. Loved the choices for tapas. We had five different dishes to share and loved them all. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the Spanish wines. Love the decor of the restaurant. Can’t wait to go back!
Restaurant list our reservations and we had to wait long time
