They’re definitely trying to turn tables over quickly. People trying to rush us into ordering, rush us to finish (three separate people came over to ask me if I was done when I still had food on my plate and fork in my hand). It’s great food but I’ll probably do takeout or delivery from now on. Wasn’t worth feeling like I was in the way.
The food was delicious. I had the Bronzino with crabmeat topping. very good. I enjoyed the stuffed mushroom appetizer as well.
Food and service are consistently excellent
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Really authentic Italian food. We had the stuffed mushrooms and the artichoke and asparagus salad for appetizers. We shared and they both were delicious. For the main dishes, I had the Branzino, which was amazing, and my husband had a type of Zuppe di Pesce dish, which he really enjoyed. We will definitely be going back.
We purchased a voucher on TravelZoo for the first time and will never do so again. Coppola's was awful. There were two takeout runners who passed our table about a dozen times with takeout orders. The waitress was grumpy. Our entrees were delivered before we finished our appetizers. My dish, shrimp scampi, was not shrimp scampi - just 5 tiny shrimp on a huge bed of linguine. The meatball appetizer and eggplant parm were very good. We will never return to this restaurant.
The food and service are very good and the restaurant is located right by a subway so is easy to get to.
The food was scrumptious from appetizers to entree. The wine was as delicious as the food and paired perfectly. My only complaint was I had no room left for dessert! The staff was attentive, friendly and talented.
Went to NYC to see Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Beacon Theater. Coppola’s was across the street from our hotel and was a five-minute walk to the Beacon. It got great reviews and was recommended by hotel staff. The homemade pasta with bolognese sauce was fabulous and the service was excellent. Highly recommend Coppola’s.
It was crazy loud they seated us in the middle “aisle” the sound bounced off of us—- I requested to be reseated but they didn’t honor the request. We couldn’t even hear the waiter, used a travel zoo voucher and honestly some of the terms and conditions, made no sense it looks like they raised their prices so they didn’t have to offer some entrées. I’m saying this because yelp people mention that the prices were raised recently. Food was marginal at best, service was extremely erratic. Either the bus boy was trying to remove our plates every five seconds or we were sitting. Nobody asked if the food was good my fish was half cooked. After the food was served nobody followed up to even ask why at least half of my entrée was still on the plate. No, would not go back. Even with the travel zoo voucher, I don’t feel like we got a good value. And then there’s the 20% automatic gratuity.SO LOUD!
As always, the food was delicious. Thanks again to Coppola’s wonderful staff. Our favorite Italian restaurant in the city
Very enjoyable meal. We were in a bit of a hurry- no problem. They took good care of us.
Very good food and service
Has quickly become my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Live taking out of town friends to experience a quintessential New York take on Italian food.
Every neighborhood should have a Coppola's - the great-meal-every-time mainstay you can always count on. We're partial to the veal parm, but the truth is we've never had anything on the menu that wasn't excellent. Generous pours of wine and drinks, homey vibe, nice staff, excellent value -- Coppola's checks every box, every time.
Consistently excellent. Neighborhood gem. I did notice the prices went up a lot but so did the portion size
My favorite neighborhood restaurant. I good there for the good food and ambiance.
Service was professional, food was delicious, prices very low for New York City. A total gem!
Coppola's is the perfect low-key Italian restaurant when that is exactly what you want. Reasonable prices, a small cozy downstairs room, and well-prepared traditional Italian-American comfort food. Every neighborhood needs a restaurant like this -- and we hope that Coppola's never changes!
Best red sauce and best lasagna in New York. I can't wait to go back.
My go to Italian restaurant in NYC!! Always a great meal!
Great place we discovered during our family trip. Best linguine ever
consistently good. Tasty and plentiful. Pleasant surroundings
The pappardelle were amazing!
We were in the neighborhood and passed by this place and thought we would give it a try. At first we went inside but the ambience was a little bit tired and the only table available was next to the bathroom. They did have one small table right out front and so we decided we would eat there and it was actually very lovely. Clearly this would not be an option in colder weather. The waiter was very very good and nice. The food was excellent – one particularly good dish we enjoyed was the black linguine with seafood. We also had a pizza and it was very good but not great – the crust was a little bit overcooked. Overall a very decent local Italian restaurant.
This was about the 3rd or 4th time I have had a dinner at Coppola’s and it never disappoints. This time around our table had the chicken parm, caesar salads, Pasta Fagioli soup and a margarita pizza. The pizza was good, but not as good as I have had here before this visit. All the other items were excellent. Service was attentive. We all liked the atmosphere of Coppola’s. Walk into the restaurant and pass the bar area then step down a step or two to the small narrow dinning area. Kind of like what you would expect of an old time Italian restaurant where maybe you would see Vito Corleone dinning in the back with some of his friends. Of course this will not be the last time dinning at Coppola’s and already looking forward to our next experience here.
Wondergul experience, food was great, definitely will go back, next I am in NY
Consistently great food at this upper west side restaurant that I’ve been going to for 30 years. Never had a bad meal. Very pleasant staff. Efficient service. Highly recommend.
The embodiment of good neighborhood Italian. Great food, especially red sauce dishes and pizza, reasonable prices, good drink pours and a warm UWS vibe. Can't say enough about this terrific place.
Great go-to restaurant for Italian food. Shrimp scampi and chicken parm just as you'd expect them to be.
Warm and wonderful environment with attentive service and outstanding food
Wonderful little Italian restaurant on the Upper West Side of NYC on 79th Street. Delicious Italian food with generous portions. I would recommend making a reservation for this restaurant as it is small and quite popular.
The food was delicious. Even though I am Italian, I am not a fan of a lot of garlic. My dish had a lot, but at least they were in larger pieces and I was able to fish them out. Excellent service and I would return.
From Boston & went to NYC for the night
The food was amazing. We’ll definitely be back
service was excellent when I felt the wine was too warm he came back with a carafe with ice to cool it. I was so impressed. the black liguini with fra diavolo sauce was supperb and all the dishes were great
we had a wonderful time
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Coppola’s. The booths are spacious, the portions generous, and the food was delicious. My new neighborhood favorite!
They weren’t open for my reservatikn
Not the best meal this time at Coppola's, Caprese salad, they used the end of the tomato..nice big core going through it, my Cesar salad was SO soggy, and husbands Pizza was under cooked and dough was soft and unappetizing.
We have been many times, this was by far the worst meal. Sorry!
Our go to place for Italian food or pizza. My 2nd favorite pizza in the UWS. Nice salads & consistent good food. The tables are close, but not too close. It’s a nice place for a good Italian meal. Their desserts are pretty good, too!
Excellent!! This was our 2nd time here and love it
