Coppin's - Hotel Covington
Friday - Saturday: 6:30am - 10pm
Sunday - Saturday: 11am - 12am
My husband and I visited Coppins to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We've heard about it and wanted to check it out. We loved the space, and we're looking forward to returning so we can sit outside in a little cooler temperatures. The restaurant gave me a white rose to honor my anniversary, and after the meal, the waitress treated my husband and I to a special glass of champagne with a raspberry in the bottom of the flute. We really appreciated the extra attention. The food was good, and we're looking forward to trying other items on the menu. The waitress and the rest of the staff was attentive and outstanding. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to others, and we will definitely be back!
Make sure to have a cappuccino made by the barista, Brandon!
Great experience with only a couple of hiccups...out of recommended product (local vodka) and what seemed to be a condensation misting from above (we did not ask to be moved...was refreshing on a warm day...but might not be so for someone else). Waiter was awesome...Tyler?
One of our favorite brunch spots!
Deplorable service. Waited 45 minutes for ANY food and then everything arrived at once. Even Graeter’s ice cream dessert (served gratis because our server was so apologetic about the chaos in kitchen) arrived 20 minutes late. The poor service ruined our evening at Coppin’s. Will not be returning.
First time here and the short ribs were absolutely on point. I'll be back!
Came for a 2 PM reservation with family we had staying with us from out of town. When we showed up we were informed that the kitchen is closed daily from 2-5 PM, and were offered the bar bites menu. I understand that many restaurants need the time to prepare, but this was a huge disappointment when we were under the impression that we had a reservation.
I would eat here every single day if I could. The menu itself is fresh and inviting. I got something I would never order typically just because the server bragged on it. AWESOME blue corn crusted catfish with greens and black eyed peas. A M A Z I N G my friend got a burger. ALSO AMAZING with a bacon jam and a fresh interesting salad that included candied nuts and lemon grass. The atmosphere was very sleek, clean and modern. Beautiful place. The Eric Snyder Trio was playing some jaz music and they also were fantastic. I WILL BE BACK first chance I get.
Coppin’s Reataurant & Bar is a real gem in Covington. Chef Mitch Arens has done a fantastic job creating an eclectic menu of Southern favorites with a spin. The creamed corn was bursting with flavors, the heirloom tomato soup was rich & creamy, and the short ribs melted in my mouth. Also, along with an extensive bourbon selection, try the watermelon margarita- you won’t be disappointed.
I absolutely love Coppin's. The food is amazing, well priced, and they have a great drink menu. The CLPB&J is to die for.
Service was excellent and prompt. The food was delicious. The building is interesting and nice. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner.
My wife and I went here for date night and were very disappointed with the service. There seemed to be plenty of staff, but all the other tables were getting served more than us. We finished our drinks by the time our main course came. It was not our waiter who brought out our food, so there was some time before he even noticed our glasses were empty. Then he had come out to serve other tables at least 3 different times before finally coming back with out drinks; by which time we had already mostly finished our meal. We let the mait're d' know and I will give them credit for comp'ing our drinks.
Aside from that, I was kind of put off by how little there was to choose form on the menu. My wife had ordered the sea bass and felt that she could have made what they had served her herself. I had the steak. It was a good steak, but not particularly exceptional either, but I guess it could have been worse. The lack of service had left a bad taste in our mouths so to speak, so everything else seemed to have been affected by the poor experience.
We did overhear from our wait addressing another table close by that the chef had to leave. He did not say when or why, but I must assume that had some affect on the timing of the service (but I wouldn't think drink service would be affected) and the quality of the sea bass and perhaps the menu was limited as a result as well.
I'm not sure if my wife and I will give this pace another shot or not. It could have been a fluke, but for the price we definitely expected more.
Perfect outdoor atmosphere. Cocktails wonderful, food delicious! Corn fritters are the best appetizer! Servers are friendly and professional.
My husband and I were in Cincinnati for a wedding over the weekend and we ate at Coppin's based on a friend's recommendation and an article in the NY Times ("36 Hours in Cincinnati). Loved the Hotel Covington and enjoyed lunch at Coppin's. It was burger week ($5 burgers) and the pork burger was delicious. Also had Graeter's and Crank & Boom ice cream for dessert--both were yummy! Great service, lovely ambiance, a do-again if we're ever in the area.
Food was tasty, if not a little pricey and ultimately, cold, because service was very slow. From taking order, to coffee refills, to food arriving at table...everything took ages. About 90 minutes from the time we were seated until we ate. Usually that's just a forgivable busy-day glitch, but none of the staff seemed overly concerned about us or the wait. Also dogs. Dogs are great, but apparently the restaurant invites non-service dogs in the dining room, or in our case, at the family-style table we shared with another guest and their lap hound. Weird if you aren't expecting it. Neat space with potential, but wouldn't book a return over another option.
Wonderful as always... The atmosphere sets the stage from the get go! Unique burger offering for Cincy burger week =wow! The color made me nervous, but taste was "spot on" and soooooo delicious! Tried a bourbon latte which was a nice twist... We found out about Bloody Mary bar tooooo late... Maybe next time😁
Unique menu with great ambiance. Can’t wait to try again. I loved the corn fritters, mac and cheese, salmon. Perfectly served.
Great place to eat and have a conversation
Beautiful spot. Delicious brunch.
Great meal with friends. Aaron, our server, was fun, helpful, and helped make the night a great time. We’ll be back for sure.
A delightful place to treat our daughter who lives and works in Cincy. Love the laid back but swanky atmosphere. The soaring ceilings and painted brick walls provided a great back drop for a memorable dining experience. Fried cheese curds and lamb belly for apps were DELISH. Husband was over the moon for his braised short ribs and risotto. Our daughter ordered the sirloin w/ chimichurri and all but licked her plate. My jambalaya was perfect. Service was excellent. After dinner in the sunlit dining area, we took a quick look see of the courtyard area in the back. Beautifully situated w/ fireplace and crusty, exposed brick. Hope to return!
Had a lovely evening with my girlfriends! We enjoyed fantastic cocktails at the bar and had an amazing dinner such a great experience.
We have only come to Copin's for Sunday brunch and have never been disappointed, but then how can you be disappointed when you can brunch with your dogs and eat great food. We are definitely planning lunch and dinner trips with the pups too.
We enjoyed our time both in the bar and the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding!
Food was pretty good. Appetizers of pimento cheese and corn fritters were awesome. Entree of fried catfish was just ok. Fish was not very flavorful, and side dish of pickled collard greens was extremely spicy and not eatable for me. Catch of the day was very good. Service was sketchy....in our party of 6, meals did not come out together which is awkward, and when we asked for more bread, our server seemed annoyed. Big negative was the ambiance. We were seated in the atrium, along the wall, and the sun was so intense coming through the windows, that we had to wear sunglasses and were in a "flop sweat" by the time our food arrived. They definitely need to explore options for shades to block out the sun during summer hours. Dining room was very uncomfortable until the sun went down.
Wonderful. Fantastic food, prepared uniquely. Our waiter was pleasant, courteous, and obliging. Our second time there, and both times have been top notch. Would highly recommend.
Cocktails were amazing! Our waitress was incredibly friendly, upbeat, and helpful. Highly recommend the corn fritters.
Very disappointed in the noise level. Service was excellent
Very short menu. Not many sides to choose from.
Such a nice atmosphere with great food and service.
Absolutely love this space! The food is very good but the atmosphere makes it worth the drive. Can't wait to sit in the little patio area some time also. Feels like a special treat to enjoy a meal here.
First timers, valet wasn’t visible from street. I even called to ask because I’m handclaped. Although it was hot out, no one outside, only a small sandwich sign. Food was good. Met cute doggie at bar, little guy gave fist bumps ❤️ Over all good experience. But won’t be going back.
Service was good. The Amish Chicken was very salty. Pimento Mac & Cheese was very good.
The waiter was fantastic and very attentive. The food was delicious.
Wow. What happened???
It was great last summer
This time food was yuck!
The food is always very well prepared and tasty, and the wait staff very friendly, but the service moves at a glacial pace. I had made a 10AM brunch reservation, and although there were several empty tables, hence they were not "slammed", we still waited for about 20 minutes to be seated. If I'd wanted to wait that late, I'd have made my reservation for 10:30 instead. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme, but the blase' attitude of the hosts when disregarding reservation times was really annoying and unprofessional.
Terrific food, terrific service, great solarium seating, just a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend.
The food was cold but they took care of it. Server was awkward but the food ended up being amazing once they got it all together!
Tonight was our first time at Coppin. And we had a great experience. Scarlett was very nice and attentive. We will return in the near future
Had such a wonderful meal here with my wife. The restaurant was so cozy and inviting. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, but were not overly fussy. The food is why we are all here, so my wife had the biscuit, and gumbo. We shared a side of mac and cheese. I had the sirloin. Everything was immaculately prepared and delicious. There was no weak spots everything was delicious. Overall bill with cocktails was $60 for two which is great for the level of food and service we received. Just stop reading and make a reservation now!
Friendly and fast service-great food
