Copperwood Tavern - Loudoun
With 20 local craft beers on draft, 30 small-batch whiskeys, & a superb wine selection. We enter every lottery for one off bourbons resulting in multiple offerings you can’t get anywhere else in VA. Our 30-foot craft bar is also stocked with southern VA;s white whiskey. Yes, that's moonshine!
Our One Loudoun location is stunning with a 20-foot high garage door to patio bar. On the dining room side, enjoy floor to ceiling windows & a cozy fire place. Long country tables are perfect for business lunches or dinner with friends! Be sure to take advantage of our fire pits outside this winter season. We have blankets available & lounge chairs perfect for relaxing with an after dinner campfire cocktail.

Ordered appetizers and the waiter came back to tell us they didn’t have the one. Ordered beers... didn’t have one of those we ordered from the menu. Then our steaks came out cooked incorrectly. Just overall not a good experience
We had a wonderful meal, with courteous service.
We felt safe and cared for.
Pre New Years Eve dinner with family and all of our meals were outstanding!!
Food and service was excellent. Only complaint was a glass of house wine was $10! Very pricey, especially at lunch.
Just started out with a cuppa coffee so we could talk a while. Coffee came from the bottom of the pot strong black bitter both the decaf in the regular. Food was OK. Server was nice. I go back I have to try something else and give them another shot at the coffee
Highly recommend!
Nice experience again, as we frequent Cooperwood for its great Food, service and atmosphere.
Anniversary
Hannah is the best ! Thank you ! The best happy hour deal
Nice to have outdoor dining at Copperwood Tavern. Lunch food was good, service was fair - I imagine it's hard to juggle outdoor and indoor patrons.
Great restaurant ! Great price point and incredible service ! Thank you Hannah( who worked on 11.2.20)! Definitely will come back
We made reservations for Sunday breakfast/brunch and arrived just a bit early, but were kindly seated right away. It was a rainy and cool day and the staff further accommodated us by seating us next to the fire place. The menu had a nice variety and we ordered the Bananas foster french toast and the western omlet. Both were delicious, we'd order each again! Staff didn't hover, which we like, but there were a few times we had to wave our waiter down to get more coffee, etc. Not a big deal, the place was moderately busy, so I'm sure the staff had much to do. Dining room was very bright and although open, seemed kind of cosy. We will definitely go back in the near future.
My review is specific to our recent visit for Sunday Brunch. The restaurant space is nice, our server was cordial, and I like the overall theme of the space, but our brunch meal was very underwhelming.
Poached eggs on my smoked salmon Benedict, while cooked nicely, were served cold, as was the english muffin, and lacked any seasoning. Wife's omelet wasn't bad, just nothing special, again lacking any real flavor. We had a baked brie that was wrapped in a thin and pleasantly crunchy pastry crust, but it was barely warm and lacked any ooey gooey goodness when slicing into the cheese.
My wife had a very bland Bloody Mary that lacked any distinct character. Even though we ordered from the brunch menu, they didn't serve her the bloody mary with bacon that was highlighted, which is what she had expected. Our bad for not specifying. We just assumed that's what would be served since we were ordering from that specific menu, but our server didn't think to ask if she actually wanted a plain one, which would have been a nice touch. Again, our bad for not specifying.
I had an "Iced Virginian", which in my opinion was overly sweet, and again lacked any distinction of flavor of coffee or booze....almost more like a melted vanilla milkshake than a fun alcoholic iced coffee drink.
The highlight of our meal was the raw oysters, which I believe they source from the Rappahannock Oyster Company. These were fresh, crisp, and briny, just like you want from a nice oyster, so kudos to Rappahannock.
Having spent over $120 including tip, we were hopeful to have walked away feeling like we discovered a fun new spot to return to when seeking a special brunch, but that was not the case. Let me be clear, there was nothing bad about the food, just nothing special. Your milage may vary, but these are my honest thoughts from someone who geeks out about great food.
Beautiful restaurant, great service, and awesome food!
The wait staff was nice and attentive but the food was slightly less than mediocre. I’ve been in the morning and their breakfast is great...not the case for dinner.
Nice spot. Decent menu with some variety for brunch.
This was our first visit to Copperwood since the reopening. The menu was great. Had the Berkshire Pork Chop. Best ever! Wife had the salmon. She said the salmon was very good but she raved about the rice and flavoring of it.
The staff was courteous and taking all covid precautions. Great dinner.
Great outdoor dining and good spacing inside. Great menu and variety. Excellent cocktails and bar options as well.
The service was poor, the food was okay. They served our dessert, hot molten chocolate cake frozen. We won't be going back.
we have been several times, and had good experiences before this time
Stumbled across it while we were in the area. We will be back.
Two of the three meals were average, the third meal was a pork chop. It was mostly fat and the meat what there was of it was not tender. Certainly would not order it again if I were to go there again which will not happen.
We mentioned to the server how breezy it was with the large doors open. She said she would close them, but did not and didn't come back to tell us why.
First the service was great. The food was super expensive and everything we ordered tasted pretty bad. Aged steak.. .never tasted a bad one until now. Unfortunately first and last time we’ll spend $150 at this restaurant.
We waited probably 30 minutes for our food. We had to flag down what looked like the manager to get our food (which I guess was ready because he brought it right out...)
My blueberry ricotta pancakes were great, but my friend's cauliflower hash apparently was VERY salty. Because of the salt, she needed more water and we had to flag someone down to get a refill because no one was checking on our table.
Then we waited awhile for someone to check on us to see if we were done - I was waiting to get a to go box and had to flag someone down. And then we had to wait awhile for someone to come and get our check to run the cc.
Basically, our server was horrible as far as being attentive but he put our orders in correctly and was nice enough - seemed a bit stressed... perhaps not enough sleep? too many tables? although there seemed to be a lot of staff present...
I have been to this restaurant a few other times and never had a server this bad. I have also ordered a number of brunch items before and I will say they are heavy with the salt, but I like that...
This was our second visit to Copperwood. Needless to say we will more than likely not be back. We started out with the grilled mussels, which had no taste and smelled very fishy (which was not noticed until after having been eaten). I then had the steak omelet and my husband had the short rib grilled cheese sandwich. My omelet had zero taste and the steak was slimy, my husband’s sandwich was literally soggy with grease. Neither of us finished our lunches and proceeded to spend the remainder of our afternoon/evening indisposed. The service on the other hand was great, except for watching some of the staff come to the bar for shots and beers, I am assuming before they left for the day. Can not recommend....
I have been at the Shirlington location often. The Asburn location is every bit as good. We say outside and had brunch. It was a beautiful day, good food and we both felt safe being there.
We always love Copperwood for the excellent food and service.
Great service and fantastic food!!
The food and drinks were amazing! We came around 9pm and had to ask for our waitress a few times even though it was pretty empty but the food was so good we will be returning.
Was greeted immediately by Veronica upon entry and seated at a bar table as I requested. She was very engaging and informative. Provided recommendations on the menu which I took advantage of and was not disappointed.
Definitely will return if my travel plans allow!
The farm-to-table food was delicious. The only improvement would be in the service such as ensuring we have utensils when serving the food and refilling the empty water glasses.
Great food and great service! Will definitely be back!
The restaurant wasn't what we expected. I thought it was going to be nicer but was more of a beer hall vibe and smelled funny. The food was good and the service was good. One item i didn't like was that they were refilling water and drinks with pitchers which should be a no no during covid.
We requested outdoor seating due to Covid19 and it was no problem. Oyster Happy hour is fantastic 😁
My husband and I had a fantastic time. We look forward to booking another reservation soon.
Hannah treated us so well even when it rained as we sat outside. She was very accommodating and the food was very delicious.
We had the best time here for brunch! The food was to die for. The brunch beverages were perfect! Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. We loved our time here can’t wait to come back!
First time we had been out to each since March 2020-the Benedict's were good but the hollandaisse sauce was cold(it is suppose to be warmed). The service was great and it was nice to get out again.
Fantastic food
Everything I've ever had at Copperwood Tavern has been delicious. We especially love their fried green tomatoes and their oysters. We've gone for happy hour on Thursdays twice now in the past month for $1 oysters (chilled or grilled) and have felt safe and well taken care of eating out there. There has been lots of room on the patio, and even the dining room has doors that open up, so we would feel comfortable eating under cover there, too. Service was excellent both times.
