Place wasn’t overly crowded yet the acoustics and noise were loud and it took our waitress forever to greet us. We could barely hear, understand what she was saying and in turn she acted like she couldn’t hear us or didn’t care. Must have been an off night because other people seem to like it. Food was pretty good but nothing to write home about. Might try it again if we can sit out on the patio and have a friendly server.
The food was good, the drinks were great, and bartender Eric was the best. Highly recommend!
I have recommended Copperwood Tavern to our friends. Excellent food and value in a relaxed atmosphere with excellent wine choices.
Seth our server was wonderful in every way imaginable!
Everything here is made from scratch and the breadth of the menu was impressive. We had the lobster appetizer that melted in your mouth.
The salads were huge and dressed properly.
Can’t wait to return.
The restaurant has a very nice design, but be advised for larger groups, you will be sitting on a wooden bench. It was not an issue for us, but it might be if you have older individuals in your party. All of the meals in our party of 6 were delicious (salmon was perfect, steak and brussels salad, cheeseburger sliders, huge grilled cheese, grilled asparagus, parmesan frites, 6 cheese macaroni) but all dishes are individually priced. On a Sunday evening there were very few people there. The service was excellent but the food delivery time was a little long, which I believe was mainly due to lack of customers, which is a shame.
Copperwood has great potential, with a large craft beer and wine selection, a great location, nice outdoor patio (which is dog friendly), and a delicious (but small) menu. They should revisit their prices to encourage repeat customers. They need more a lot more volume to have success.
We love farm to table restaurants so we were so excited the try this place. It was the most greasy, over cooked food that we have ever had. The Brussel sprouts were drowning in grease, the spaghetti squash was so over cooked and looked like mush and the filet was the worst cut of meat that I’ve eve seen. Will never go back.
The food was amazing which improved the rating of our overall experience. The service was lacking for the first 10-20 minutes until we were vocal about it. We only had water even though we ordered drinks, all other tables had their popcorn and drinks were starting to come out. I’m not sure if our server didn’t add our drinks or if it was slow coming out. After we told her that we weren’t happy with the service thus far, she started acting like she cared. Service improved and the food was incredible. This was my second time here and she was the server last time and she did the same thing last time, just disappeared forever and didn’t seem to care about her tables.
We really enjoyed our dining experience. We decided to have dinner here while waiting for our 3 hour reservation at Top Golf. The food was amazing. We shared the Tomahawk steak for two and a side of Brussel Sprouts. Our Server Jeff was the best. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. I cant wait to dine here again with friends.
The decor is nice. The large windows to the outside made it feel open but the were dirty. The service was sub-standard.
Prior to concert by the Loudoun Symphony, I chose this restaurant for the location. Very expensive for the value. New York prices with a view of the gas station. Most offensive is the dead deer head presiding over the restaurant, which claims to be “farm to table”. The taxidermy does not lend freshness to the atmosphere. The a la a carte selections force the price of a reasonable meal higher than the value. My vegetarian selection. The spaghetti squash , did not taste fresh and the sun dried tomatoes were not edible. This is a great place for rowdy families who want to let their kids run unrestrained.
We had a good server, I just think it isn't appropriate to hand unwrapped straws to customers when we don't know what the server last touched when coming back to our table after making the request when ordering our drinks.
Food was excellent and the service was also very good. We had four kids and they can be a challenge at times. There wasn't a long wait for food and they handled all the requests (items on the side) without missing a beat. It's a great looking restaurant and they handled our party of 9 very well. We will certainly come back again and would recommend it for brunch, lunch or dinner.
Food was delicious, services from Jeremy was awesome, we really enjoy the evening
We and our friends very much enjoyed our lunches yesterday at Copperwood Tavern. We liked the relaxed atmosphere, our waiter Jeff was excellent and the menu varied and different. We might suggest you consider having a Sides menu.
I went to Copperwood for dinner because I had a gift card. I don't live in Loudoun. I found the steak I had (the 14 oz. ribeye) to be delicious, as was the onion soup. The soup is loaded with cheese, and very tasty. The mushroom croistini (sp?) was delicious. I thought the Tavern Salad was boring. It either needs a little more dressing or the dressing needs to be changed. The other appetizer we had was the fried goat cheese and Virginia ham. That was also delicious, as it came with Arugula, which I love, honeycomb, and another (fruit?) portion. My son and wife both got the filet. They both ordered medium rare. He loved his, but my wife's was overdone.
The service was so so. Overall I'd rate this an average establishment. The food overall is good, though a bit pricey, the place is convenient, since the parking garage is right next door, the service is average and, while the interior decor is kind of cool, the view out the huge windows on the front is of...Exxon! I'm not saying yes or no on recommending to a friend. I still have some money left on the gift card. I think I'll come back and try it again, then think about recommending to those I know.
We were 4 middle aged women and our waiter took very good care of us. The drinks were great! I ordered 2 appetizers and my friends ordered the filet and the salmon. They enjoyed their entrees. We shared a piece of caramel cheesecake, which was to die for!
Way over priced for the quality of the food and the service
Great food, great service. Everyone left full and happy!
Delicious! We sat down for an early weeknight dinner, so it was pretty quiet. They provided complimentary mini muffins with honey and orange flavored butter - yum. I ordered the Spaghetti Squash and was blown away by how much flavor it had, especially for such a simple dish! The portion was great too. I also tried a bite of the Rainbow Trout - SO incredibly soft, it was a melt-in-my-mouth experience. For dessert, we got the ice cream in waffle - the waffle was a WAFFLE - freshly baked, soft, thick, scrumptious. (We were expecting a giant waffle cone, the crunchy kind you'd typically picture with ice cream). Definitely want to visit again.
Advertised as a farm-to-table, but food not good, and preparation very average. The restaurant was blaring heavy metal music, just weird and like a bad vibe.
Excellent food and wine selections in a warm relaxed atmosphere. My wife and I count this as one of our favorite restaurants.
Our first time there to celebrate my husband's birthday and the service was impeccable. The manager stopped by and greeted us as she was filling our water glasses and our Server Amanda was just awesome. Since this was our first time there, Amanda went over the menu, the bourbon list as well, appetizers, entrees and all. She was able to keep us informed and wait on her other tables. What a great experience? We will be returning.
The entrees we chose was spot on for the 4 persons in our group.
We enjoyed a nice seat by the window which we requested. Jeremy, our waiter was very accommodating and attentive, but not hovering. If you don't like brussell sprouts, these will change your mind. Food was delicious, presented well, and portions were just right.
If you want really good food that is locally, Cooperwood Tavern is the place to go. This is my third visit and the food and service are always great.
Great food, but the service was not. Waitress came to us only a few times: once to take our order for drinks and appetizers, the second time when she ready to take our orders from our main course but only after we had finished our appetizers and had a bunch of empty glasses on our table, lastly once we had finished our meals and provided us with our check.
Nice spot. The food and. Service were good. The drinks were especially good. I will definite be back.
I have been here for brunch one other time prior to this visit. My first experience was 5 star worthy!! The food and service was amazing; however, during that visit the restaurant was less than half way full. Because of my first experience, I recommended it to my girlfriends this time and unfortunately the experience was not the same. I made an online reservation the day prior and when I got there they didn’t appear to be ready for me. The restaurant was pretty crowded and the hostesses were not as inviting as I would have expected. On the way to be seated there was a napkin on the floor thy caused me to slip. The hostess that seated me didn’t pick it up, so I did. Then she didn’t take the dirty napkin away, instead she left it on my table top. While we ordered drinks promptly, they took quite a while to come to the table and the waitress apologized for the delays. Likewise the food took quite a while to be served and when it arrived it appeared as if it sat for a while after being prepared. The scrambled eggs were rubbery, the toast was overly crisp as if it was dried out and the poached egg wasn’t done properly. We did discuss these issues with the manager and she was kind enough to refund our entrees which was very nice and unexpected. It is possible that all of the things we experienced was due to the large brunch crowd and possibly being understaffed. I am on the fence if I would try again.
We had a reservation and when we checked in they said it would be 20 mins...that is frustrating but when the manager found out she came over and gave us a free drink from the bar. That was nice. The food and waiter were great, the only thing is that it is a little loud in this restaurant...not a quite romantic setting but that is OK sometimes.
We were initially offered a table basically right next to the server stand. After we asked if there was another alternative, we saw another couple come in, the staff attempted to seat them there and they asked for another alternative. Might think about just moving that table elsewhere.
The restaurant and service was good. The food was pricey. Shareable sides were tasty. Entree portion was generous.but meat under seasoned.
Very special place for a date night. Great food, wonderful wine, and I have always found the waitstaff/management to be very professional and know when/how to come back to the table for assistance during the meal. On a packed night, it can be very vibrant and loud, so depending on your night's expectations, just think about WHEN you would want to go. Still needs to offer a military discount, but besides that...I recommend the duck and a bold red at Copperwood Tavern! See you there soon.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! I was introduced to this restaurant as the destination for a team dinner at work, and knew as soon as I sat down at the bar and saw the menu that I HAD to come back with my husband. The drink options, the meal options, the ambience--sheer perfection. I came back with my team for a lunch meeting, and it was as phenomenal as the first time. Even with a full house, no one had to shout or strain to hear. Highly recommended!
This was my second time trying Copperwood, and I REALLY wanted to like it. We decided to try the brunch menu. Our server was amazing. I think his name was Jeff. He was very attentive, checked on us just the right amount, and kept our drinks filled. The breakfast potatoes were good, as were the fried green tomatoes, and the Belgian waffle. The butter you make for those waffles is OUTSTANDING.
Unfortunately, we found two hairs in our food - one on my daughter's waffle, and another in the butter that comes out with the French toast sticks (which MIGHT have just been a piece of lint). We didn't need the butter for the French toast sticks, and the hair on the waffle was found when she had already finished eating, and it was on the last bite. It was definitely not my daughter's hair - she's got long, blond hair, and this was a shorter, black hair. We did not tell our server, because we were pretty much done and didn't want to make a big deal. Maybe not the right thing to do in retrospect.
I think the overall quality of the food is excellent, but I can't afford (or justify) shelling out $6.50 for bacon. Everyone else I know loves the restaurant, so maybe it was an off day for me.
Our waitress was so nice. I was really disappointed that the menu I saw online was not actually the menu we could order from. No burgers or sandwiches. That can only be ordered on the bar side. Barely a kids menu. Had to ask about it. It is not on the actual menu. I don’t think we would go back.
Awesome food! Had the brown butter chicken and pork chops - both were thoroughly enjoyed. Mac and cheese side was addicting. Also try the debtor duck eggs!
Overpriced for what you get. Food was delicious though.
Very long wait for the food. Salmon crusted with horseradish was the special. Salmon was very overdone, with burnt edges. The topping was very salty. Couldn’t taste horseradish at all.
The Brussels sprout slaw was drenched and soggy.
The waiter never checked with us so we didn’t have the opportunity to give him these concerns. My husbands beef tips were very overdone and not flavorful.
I expected much better especially for the evenings special.
Good cocktails and great food. Will definitely be back.
