Unfortunately our reservation was not honored as they had several customers arriving late. So we ended up eating at the bar. The food was good, the bar service was slow, but overall we had a nice time.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. It is kind of loud, but food was great! I was going to order the the rabbit and was disappointed when someone else ordered the last one. I ended up getting the pork chop and it was huge. Also, best pork chop I have EVER had at a restaurant. My wife had fish and also excellent. We ordered the Brussel sprouts as a side and they were also great. The couple we were with got asparagus and mashed potatoes. Also, very good. We shared a very nice salad and it was served to us already split vs just bringing an extra plate (sign of a good restaurant right there). We’ll go back.

Our waiter Jeff was 5star. Had brunch but the biscuit was awful. Just a normal fluffy buttermilk biscuit would bring me back more often.

Terrible quality of food - the concept of farm to table is great but the actual delivery isn't. My filet had no seasoning, and my last couple of bites were rare.

Service was not great. Someone other than our server had to make sure we were taken care of. Dishes cleared, drinks refilled, spoon for our side, etc.

Really good beer list , with lots of local options. The food was good but everything had too much sauce on it. From the lobster lettuce wraps , the fried green tomatoes, and the salads would have all been better with out being doused in sauces.
Overall menu had something for everyone

Arrived early for our reservation and still seated immediately. Service was excellent. Food was incredible, as was the wine. I've been a few times in the past with good experiences, but this particular experience exceeded the past ones. Will absolutely return!

Hoping for a good hearty meal for the family while celebrating my daughters birthday and sending a couple of college kids back to school. They were so excited with the variety of the menu. They had the duck and rabbit to share. The other one had the scallops. My husband and I had Berkshire pork and the steak. The best thing out of all those was the steak. Everything was cooked to perfection but everything was so bland. We were all so disappointed. The waiter was amazing, very attentive and helpful. But for the money we shelled out that night, it was a let down. We’ve been here before and enjoyed everything, but they were off tonight. So sad!

Two things keep me from giving them 4 stars: the large tables are long rectangular and not round. We found it was very hard to talk to more than half the table due the distance and ambient noise. Second, it really bugs me that you cannot order their excellent burger if you are on the restaurant side of the place. Every time we come there is always someone who wants it! I would be happy to pay more for the dinner version!

We love this restaurant. The food is great and the service usually is. I think our server was new last time we went and he seemed a little distracted. It has a good locally sourced dining menu and the bar menu is reasonable and really good. It can be loud. The owner seems to be constantly reaching out to the community with promotions. Recommend it highly.

I was there for dinner with a group of friends on Saturday night. We sat in the bar area which had a good atmosphere. Most of us ordered dinner off their bar menu. Me and my husband thought and the food was good but not great. While our waiter was nice, he was new and not very attentive. Overall I thought it was this place was average and wouldn't necessarily go back unless someone else picks it as a HH or dinner spot.

We were disappointed from the start, even having a reservation took quite some time to get our table ready. No one liked to have water served in glass jars. One of the cocktails we ordered was out. I had the braised rabbit, only to find a plate of pasta noodles- not what I expected. My friend had trout, and that is what he got-plain, no side dish. Dessert choices were few and pretty heavy. Sorry, we are not coming back.

Service was horrible after the first interaction. For example, it took 20 minutes to get our check after asking for it. Had to have items taken off the check that were never delivered. Waitress took over 20 minutes to get back to let ya know there wasnt the beer we ordered. Food was burnt and didn’t match what we ordered. Very disappointed. Will not go back.

We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was all of our first time having brunch at Copperwood and everything about it was great. The food was excellent and so was the service. I wish we would’ve taken advantage of the outdoor fire pit area but we weren’t aware of it until we saw another group outside. We will definitely come back and give it a try.

I had heard very mixed reviews about Vopperwood Tavern but don’t hesitate and just come try it and review it yourself. I came here with a group of my girlfriends for first time and let me tell you everyone was pleased with the food and how great the burgers, steak salad and mushroom Crustini were and what can I say about the Mac and cheese delicious! Brought my son the following day for brunch and just as amazed the French toast Yum, wasn’t crazy about the duck eggs but that’s just preference. The country breakfast was delicious. Third time came in with a dear friend as we like trying new places and well an experience I wanted to share with him. I had the mussels and he ordered the chili which I enjoyed both. Dinner took a little longer than expected and well our waitress was more than accommodating in letting us know the kitchen was a little behind. Yes it did take a little while but when our food came out we were helped to a couple extra sides from the chef and an apology from the manager. Can’t tell you enough how great the food is. The service hasn’t been any less than great attentive and and making sure waters are filled and drinks are coming. Great restaurant great place for bigger parties and excellent ambiance and service. Definitely will recomend and will be coming again! Thank you to the manager and waitress for making our experience fulfilling and although a bit of a wait for making it awesome! Was very appreciated!

Went here for breakfast. The fresh, high quality food is a relatively good value. Roasted potatoes, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce are really tasty. Not too salty. The free spiced popcorn is not necessary. I’d rather have a bread option with dishes like the delicious duck confit hash. Otherwise the service and decor - rustic casual - are Pleasant. Please add gluten free baked goods!!

Thought sides came with the meal! Nope just a peice of meat on a plate and very pricy! Waiter was terrible we had to go find him to pay him at end. 260$ for four people we all got a peice of meat on a plate. Won't return. Waste of money.

Food was mixed reviews all around. My son loved his burger, my husband was not impressed with the pulled pork sandwich, and my Shrimp & Grits was good, but I've had better. While the place was only half full (strange for Sunday Brunch period), service was not great and they were clearly understaffed for the shift. I would try again for the regular menu, to see if we get a different experience.

My wife and I frequently dine at restaurants all over the DC area and we’re low key and understand that restaurants have off nights. Tonight it was a matter of very poor service, plain and simple, at Copperwood Tavern. It was our first time there. Our server served the tables on either side of us right away despite the fact we ordered simple cocktails and an appetizer, which was completely forgotten. I had to remind our server after 30 minutes of waiting. 15 minutes after that I had to ask to put in our dinner order. He was very indifferent. The manager said he would remove our appetizer b/c of the long wait but it still showed up on our bill. The server did pick up our 2nd round of cocktails & brought my wife a complimentary glass of wine. Still, I would rather have had decent service than having to have free drinks as a result of particularly bad service. We won’t return b/c there are so many other good restaurants in LoCo where the service is so much better, esp. for the price. First impressions!

We went for the Labor Day Brunch. Scotched Egg was delicious and first time in a long time my eggs (steak and eggs) were cooked to perfection. I had the Ryes and Shine drink -- delicious, but way over priced. My spousal unit had the biscuits and gravy -- she said it was very good. She had the $12 pear bellini, it was good, but tiny. Great service from our waiter. The food was reasonably priced and tasty. Overall, it was ok, but we are going back to our live jazz brunch in DC with great drink deals.

Went for Brunch on Monday (Labor Day). Service was pretty good, though nothing phenomenal. We were celebrating a birthday and no one offered a “happy birthday” or anything of that nature. Food was ok. My dad (whose birthday we were celebrating) hated his omelette and sent it back for Sausage and gravy. It took an exceptionally long time for them to check and everyone had finished eating by the time the second plate came out (also was charged us for the make up meal, which was a little surprising to me). My husband and I have been here for dinner a couple times and apparently this is a dinner only kind of place, as brunch was less than stellar.
