Coppermill Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We were on our way back from our Thanksgiving holiday, had just driven for 11 hours and I had found this restaurant on the internet. It exceeded our expectations. We were greeted at the door by our server, Chantel, who was so friendly and we felt as if we were talking with someone we already knew. The bar manager, Alicia, came over to check on our cocktail order and when I told her I liked a more traditional martini, she immediately offered to make me a fresh one, which was delicious. My partner consumed the sweeter one I had ordered and loved it. The food was delicious - our steak was done to perfection and melted in our mouth, and the salad was super fresh. I would recommend this venue to anyone in Kearney. Thanks, Coppermill and staff!
This was our first visit here as I had been hearing mixed opinions of the food, prices, noise level, etc. We took our granddaughter there for her 17th birthday and had a group of 7 and I think we were all pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent, prices are not out of line and service was excellent. Will definitely return.
We are from out of town and this is the second time we have dined at Coppermill. While we enjoyed our cocktail in the bar area once we moved to the dining area we experienced the same issue each time-good food, pleasant server but timing of the kitchen was off and we waited a lengthy time for our food to arrive.
Everything was wonderful. The only thing that I didn't like for a very upscale restaurant was the seating and lighting. There should be booths and dimmer lights. I would not go here for a romantic evening. I'm from California and if you've heard of Mortons steak house this is the decor you need.
This is a fine dining experience in Kearney. No, it isn't Chicago or New York, but it's quite nice for central Nebraska. The food was surprisingly good. The waiter was excellent, there when needed, but not intrusive. All 5 diners and myself were very pleased with the food. Some of them are from Chicago and Atlanta, and were very pleased with this level of service and quality of the food. One entre was smoked and grilled quail, served on a sweet potato cake. The quail is smoked in-house, and was excellent. The sweet potato cake was delicious as well. This is a special item, so they probably don't have it every day. Overall, I would definitely say it was a fine experience, and I will return again.
Great service very attentive..food was better than some reviews said...our steaks were delicious. Salad was very fresh as was the French onion soup. Enjoyed the pear crisp dessert..different than expected but very tasty. Only negative was a loud talking guy at a table near us...overall an enjoyable dinner to cap off our eclipse vacation.
We found Coppermill to have a fun menu and to be a good value for being upper-end. Service was knowledgeable and attentive without hovering, and they were very responsive to our reservation requirements. Special kudos to the knowledgable bar staff. Nice handcrafted cocktails and whiskey selection (and value), but most impressive was the Winekeeper tap, keeping the by-the-glass pours as fresh as a newly opened bottle. It preserves and dispenses six nice wines that cover pairing requirements well. Bottle wine list was classy too. The ambient noise level was on the high side, but I would return again and recommend it nonetheless. An easy walk from quality overnight accommodations nearby was a plus too.
Truly extraordinary smoked quail paired with sweet potato au gratin and grilled asparagus. We went for the eclipse but will find a way to drive through NE and go back. My mom had a fall and they held the kitchen open so we could eat dinner after going to the ER. Their kindness was special but the food was fabulous. Thank you again for a great meal and for your graciousness.
We recently had our eighteenth wedding anniversary at the coppermill and it was fantastic. The service was very attentive and fast. The food was excellent and the side dishes were very unique. They accomidated my special requests and i would highly recommend the coppermill to anyone looking for special occasion dinning.
Coppermill is a steakhouse specializing in dry aged beef. I ordered the rib eye aged for 30 days but the waitress had to come back and say they only had the 45 day version. I think that moved me from 45 to $55 or so. I said yes. The steak was thin, an inordinate amount of fat. Taste was good but not special enough for the price. Overall nice place with a pretty bar and good staff but watch out for the extra cost steak.
We had been driving all day, so sick of fast food when traveling. We got there 45 minutes late for our reservation, but they still had our table with a table cloth and ice water ready! Great service, excellent food, gluten free and healthy options, steak and lobster was very good. We could not have been more pleased and will be back the next time we come through Nebraska!!
The service and atmoshere were great. But the meal was way overpriced for the low quality of food. My wife's filet was ok and just an average steak. My prime rib had no flavor and the aujus was not flavorful. Would have been ok if they were $10 steaks! The only thing that was great was the soup and the mashed tators.
The atmosphere and service were good. However, boasting of their dry-aged beef, we were very disappointed. Having ordered the 45 day aged beef, I expected the cut to be tender and flavorful, however it was not. The others in our party enjoyed their meals, but agreed the food did not merit the price.
We had a group of 8. We were seated promptly. the waitress was very friendly but unskilled. We had to ask for plates for our appetizers. We had to ask to have drinks refilled. We had to ask to have plates removed. We had to ask to get bread and then it was cold day old rolls. Our steaks tast6ed good but were not cooked to our order. They were all undercooked. mostly rare. I would expect a place getting $40.00 for a steak would have someone who could cook it to order. The oysters were awesome.
We went there for our daughter's college graduation and took a party of 7 people out for dinner. We were told that this was the best restaurant in Kearney. We were excited when we saw steaks that were aged for 30 days or 45 days (2 options) on the menu. Most of us ordered the 45 days aged New York Strip. It was definitely not aged meat. It was not tender and didn't taste like aged steak. We know steak. Couple that with a $55 per steak price tag and we were really disappointed. We also didn't think the side dishes were that good either. I ordered the Brussel sprouts and they were not good. How can you screw up Brussel sprouts? They tasted like they were made 2 hour earlier and reheated. Really bad. Sorry, but we were really disappointed. Our bill was over $700 with tip and that is a lot of money for a steak in central Nebraska. Next time we will travel the extra time to go to The Speakeasy in Holdrege, Nebraska (Sacramento, Nebraska).
Took my wife on a date to Coppermill Steakhouse for an upscale dinner....Needless to say, the atmosphere was very low scale for a supposedly high end restaurant. The back room looks like a hotel breakfast nook. The noise level was horrible, worse than a highschool gym basketball game. Food was pleasing but between the noise and fall short atmosphere, leaves one to really question the upscale implied theme. Disappointed:( would like to retry if improvements are made.
We were excited about trying out this steakhouse...Went with some friends. Three out of four people were disappointed in our meals. Lack of abundant sauce on pasta dish, cold sauce on chicken cordon bleu, and the prime rib wasn't even edible. I left 3/4 of it on the plate because I could not even cut it. The beef filet however was very good. The management did comp the prime rib, but will be a long time before we go back.
