Loved the vibe in this unique space. Our waitress was wonderful, engaging, helpful in recommendations and available. I don't know her name because my daughter, who is a waitress at another hip local restaurant, told us we shouldn't ask a wait person's name. She's funky, with curly hair that I think was blue, and she has large rings on many fingers.
My daughter and husband had oysters I'm really like them. We all had a piece of the salmon roll which was really yummy and the fish are so fresh. My daughter and I split the lamb burger and also the clam and prawns in a broth. The clams and prawns and broth were to die for - couldn't stop myself even though I was full. The lamb burger was a little too salty for me and was more well cooked than we asked, but the flavor was very good.
Our waiter was fabulous, the food was fabulous, and the drinks were fabulous!

My lamb burger was a mash of tzaziki overbearing the almost invisible lamb patty, so much so, that I tried to scrape the sauce completely away. The fries were good.
I think my friend liked her soup and clams.
Our nice waitress totally forgot to return my friend’s credit card and after 5 minutes of searching frantically for it, we had to flag the waitress down to help us.
She was a bit nonchalant as to her misgiving.
By the time we left at 7:30, the music and noise were unbearable .
I think the place needs to be a little cleaner. And, I wish the menu had a few more options.

Very stylish and hip place with a lot of interesting things going on. Restaurant week meal felt very overpriced for the portion sizes and some of the tastes in the starters and desserts were overpoweringly strong.
I was excited for the opportunity to support a new restaurant (for us) during Oakland Restaurant week - unfortunately it was a disappointing experience on all levels. We arrived about 8 minutes before our 7:45 reservation, told that we were early and the table wasn’t ready so we could wait in the bar. No problem- we go over to bar, sit down and my husband goes to the bar to order a drink. Goes to pay and the bartender says it’s a $10 minimum for credit cards - okay then just move it to our tab when our table is ready. She replies back that she is way too busy to do that? Cash please?! Finally get seated at 8:10 (though we watch 3 empty tables). The waitress acknowledges the wait and apologies - then disappears....finally order the restaurant week special menu. It’s $40 per person. Soup - it was okay- served in an odd old cup/saucer. My husband had the risotto (good but served on an entirely wrong plate) and I had the roasted chicken. It was one of the worst plates I’ve had at any restaurant mushy quinoa and brown rice, no flavor chicken (a chicken leg and 2 thighs, rubbery and no seasoning) and Swiss chard with absolutely no flavor and cut with stems that were rock solid. I was offered to try something else off the menu, but we had already been waiting for so long. I passed but asked for salt and pepper - seriously table salt? Yuck. Dessert - was okay but a 2 bite piece of cake. I get portion control, but really - kind of embarrassing. They took off the additional $12 glass of wine as an apology - but with tax and tip it was still over $100 for a HORRIBLE meal. Fix your tables and chairs, consider not placing tables by the kitchen entrance - super distracting.
How could a meal disappoint in so many ways? Pasty, lumpy, flavorless risotto that even table salt wouldn't be able to salvage. Accompanied by raw carrots, soggy mushrooms and topped with stringy sprouts. The 2 hour duration for 3 courses compounded our miserable experience. With the 40 minutes it took to get our entree, couldn't the chef at least made sure the carrots were roasted as promised in the menu? Having run a food truck before you would think the owners know a thing about quick turnover. Nuts, I should have taken the risotto to go, I needed spackle for my walls.
They didn’t have our reservation through Opentable which was frustrating when we arrived, but they definitely did their best to accommodate us. The service was slow, a little over 2 hrs from start to finish. The food was okay, our food was cold and lacked flavor. The bar is very nice and the cocktails are good, so if we came back it would be for drinks only.
We went for Oakland restaurant week. The waitress, who was also one of the owners was great. The food was tasty as well.
We perused the regular menu and felt like the prices were great for the Bay Area. We will definitely be back.
The restaurant was nice. We chose the Copper Spoon because it was on the Restaurant Week listing. We found that there was nothing really 'special' about the menu for RW over their normal menu. We did not go with the RW options as they were overpriced vs doing an ala cart version.
Jackfruit burger was good.
Food was enjoyable, staff very engaging, we did had to ask a couple times to turn down the music. 2 in our party ordered the soup, 1 ordered soup and salad, I ordered chicken entree. Soups were brought very quickly, and eaten at my encouragement. At least 20+ minutes passed before the salad and my entree were brought out (mind you, the soups were long gone). I think staff should tell patrons that the chicken cooks a long time and they have the option of asking all dishes be brought at once.
Reservation was for 4. Twenty min before seating, I asked if we could add 2, which they accommodated even though they were already full. Then we added a 7th person as we arrived.
They helped us make it work, even though it was clearly a pain for the staff to navigate around us. And they never made us feel bad about it. Even though we should have (and did)!
The food and cocktails were great, too.
Copper Spoon is exquisite. We loved every bite. All of the small touches, from the bit of crunch to the tiny unique dishes are amazing.
Two of us had $70 prix fixe Thanksgiving menu. Lentil soup was best of all the courses, very nourishing and flavourful. Second course, brussel sprouts, was a bit too salty but tasty overall. Third courses were 1/2 Dungeness crab and game hen. The 1/2 crab was a mistake. Very little sweet and delicate crab meat with a whole lot of gritty grains. The game hen (good) was served with mashed potato and greens (both, very good). Desserts were carrot cake (very good) and chocolate mousse (obscured by cardamom). The server was personable and effective. The host was unkind, officious and cast a pall on the whole dining experience.
Can't describe the eclectic menu but every dish was delicious.....as always.

Very friendly neighborhood place. Eclectic menu which gave us pause, but they pulled it off. The food was amazing.
Great service, great cocktails and food was amazing
I was so excited to go and celebrate a friend's major life event and picked Copper spoon for the cocktails. But it was honestly one of the worst meals I have had in Oakland - mostly due to the service. Our waiter was extraordinarily rude - telling me to wait to answer a question bc she needed to spend a few minutes chatting up another table - when I asked her about some of the alcohol since I have celiac - she told me that she knew 'for sure' that alcohol does not contain gluten - and so I reminded her about whiskey and beer. Then she forgot - FORGOT - FOUR dishes we had ordered for the table, and so a meal that shoudl have taken 1-2 hrs took 3 instead. NO one was friendly, or polite, or welcoming - and there was no real apology for their mistake. I will never, ever go to that place again and had to apologize to my friends for picking the place. It was so fun the first time I went about a year ago, I am never going back.
Disappointed. Problems with staff and arrangements. They apparently value certain patrons over others. Food tastes alright. For the price tag, not worth the overall experience. Can you imagine going to dinner on a Tuesday night just to leave angry?
Service and attitude continues to be a serious issue. Food is hit & miss and very limited menu.

Super nice and knowledgeable service. I ate all vegan dishes and they were tasty and satisfying. Drink choices were unique and delicious.
Copper spoon was a great experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was informative and attentive. He was polite and had a small sense of humor. I would definitely come back again and recommend to a friend! The food was excellent and was well worth the price.
We came for dinner and had a great time. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was hip. The food was tasty but a little on the salty side. I will go again.

This restaurant has so much character and their service is outstanding. Great restaurant for a date night, a special occasion, or even just a great cocktail on a week night. Highly recommend!!

Our first time here, in our neighborhood. Chicken Wings were very tasty and not over cooked , especially nice touches like the fried onions garnish.
My shrimp and clam entree had juicy clams in a delicious broth with snap peas, however the shrimp were over cooked and tough to eat. Wish they’d left the shrimp in the shell for flavor.
Very tasty food, well presented, and served by pleasant people who seem to be enjoying themselves.

We stumled into this place after having been mioslead about a reservation throuh Yelp at another restaurant. Very pleasantly surprised - cordial service, good beer. wine, and cocktail choices, and good food! We enjoyed the lamb burger, muscles and shrimp, oysters, deviled eggs, and salads. Cool interior design. Would definitely go back.
The Copper Spoon is clearly a place which focuses on quality food, not snobbery. The ambiance is mellow and relaxed, the service and food is first rate.
First time there, had an amazing dinner with my mom. Our server was Sarah and she was really knowledgeable about the menu, gave excellent suggestions for both food and drinks! The back room was adorable and it was great for larger parties, definitely loud! The front would be better for more intimate dates but the back could be intimate too without parties. Just depends. Over all, the food was amazing (a bit too much chimichurri sauce on my steak) but the mussels were phenomenal! The cauliflower and broccoli were also top notch! Thank you!!!!
Food was mostly pretty good. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. The waitress and the bartender were excellent, but the food was very slow coming out of the kitchen, fortunately we were not in a hurry. Very nice atmosphere and a beautiful bar. Would come back for drinks and snacks at the bar, not sure about dinner.
Deviled eggs had TOO much going on, my salad was drowning in dressing, chicken wings had a seasoning I could not place(did NOT like).
Now, the mussels & shrimp and the salmon wrap were very good, as were the bar offerings.
