Copper Rock Steakhouse - South Bend
Food was good not great. Service was excellent! Nice to have in South Bend!
Overall very good
My wife had the bone in rib eye and I has the stuffed lobster - both were excellent. We had tried Copper Rock when they first opened and it was a bit disappointing but this time the food was great. Our waitress did not know the menu very well and service was just ok - water glasses not filled when needed. Overall we were very happy.
Birthday, way to loud ordered the 55 dry aged ribeye steak their specialty ordered med rare came out rare and not aged at all. Guess the chef and server didn’t realize south bend has people that can tell the difference. Service was awful ran out of drinks besides water twice not going back taking the 35 min drive and go to the copper rock in new buffalo or go to Michigan city to Willy b’s. Willy b’a is half the cost and has better service and non of the pretension
Absolutely excellent dinner and service. Highly recommend.
wait staff was terrific. very knowledgeable and friendly/fun. food was very good.
It was nice to go to an "upscale steakhouse" without dressing up, I shouldn't have to dress up to impress others simply because I want good food. The service was acceptable but nothing worth bragging about. The adult beverages were delicious, although in all honesty, overpriced. The wasabi that accompanied the seared ahi tuna was crumbly and stale and the tuna itself was bland. We ordered a "side" of truffle fries as an appetizer but weren't able to eat more than a few each because the fries were grease-soaked and soggy. The brussel sprouts were soaked in a vinegary concoction that we couldn't tolerate the smell of, let alone the taste. The Copper Rock mashed potatoes were good, not great. The only redeeming quality of the entire meal was the $75 per 5oz wagyu steaks,.
This was our 4th visit to Copper Rock, however, this was our worst experience. our guests meal was excellent. My steak and my husbands steak were overdone and our twice stuffed bake potato was burnt. We did send that back but we ate the steak.
3 for 3 on 5 Star experiences. If I could give 10 stars to our waitress I would.
Amazingly delicious meal! And awesome service!
Excellent as always. Never disappointed come
The food was great and we will return often. The filet was excellent, tender, very good taste. The desserts were wonderful, specifically the creme brulee and large. We were impressed with the value of our meal and good portions.
We ordered filet mignon off the prix fix menu, but it seemed obvious that they give you poorest quality meat if you order from there. Both had a lot of grizzle and was drier than medium should be. We waited an hour between salad and main entree so when they offered to bring another out we declined the wait. They were nice enough to take the steak portion off our bill, but based on slow service and no water/drink refil during my entree and most of dessert we probably won’t return. Server addressed my water when she brought food, then a water filler guy when by and I told server again for 3rd time.
Server was awesome and food yummy! From the time we arrived we were greeted with a smile. Server super helpful in explaining food options. Loved the bread and spread... we did not feel rushed. Loved the decor the vibe. Great piano player in the bar area. It was pretty full and a large party seem to be having a festive time! Server was awesome with separating our bills.
We asked for bar seating; however, we were given a private room! It proved to be an amazing night....good food, good service, good friends! The room was a total surprise and greatly appreciated! We will return!
I felt that the atmosphere was pleasant and the general feel was very nice, but the service was quite slow, especially waiting for our food to arrive.
The meal options were different and it was nice to have some options that were outside of what you normally expect, however I felt that the experience of the fine dining was lost on the long wait and made the it seem overpriced in the end. The food was good, both in presentation and taste, however I felt that it wasn’t really anymore special than most other restaurants at half the price.
In the end I was still glad we went and tried Copper Rock for the experience but I’m not sure I’ll go back. In general I felt it was overrated.
The filet was excellent. The breads and spreads they serve with the meal are very good.
Ordered steak medium and it arrived raw
We have been to the New Buffalo Copper Rock restaurant several times, but this was our first visit to the South Bend location. The New Buffalo Copper Rock set the bar pretty high so having the comparison between the two makes it easier. The South Bend location is more casual upscale whereas New Buffalo is more elegant. New Buffalo's Copper Rock is more romantic and classy. One of things we really liked about the New Buffalo restaurant is that you cannot smell the cigarette smoke from the casino, which is awesome. The South Bend location must not have the same filtration system because you definitely smell the cigarette smoke in the restaurant. Service was slow but our server was very good. It just seemed like it took a long time for drinks and between each part of the meal, (salad, main entree, dessert). The food itself was very good, on par with the New Buffalo Copper Rock. It is just a different atmosphere and if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, this might not be the one for you. We will probably go back to the New Buffalo Copper Rock for special occasions and use the South Bend one for more casual dinners.
Slow, food over cooked and overpriced . The lobster bisque was almost burnt and waited 45 to an hour on our main. Tablecloths catch your seating knocks over wine at 13.00 per glass. No one cared.
Not the first time we have been there, will not be the last. Food and service has always been great.
Totally FIRST CLASS!! Service was excellent! Food excellent! Easy on-line reservation. Sunday night has $39 special deal on a GIANT, bone-in ribeye steak. Worth the drive for that alone. They welcome RV overnights in quiet lot to the side of building. Regular security patrols. Definitely a GREAT stop in my travels!!
Our dinner was spectacular and the service was even better! Definitely one of the top restaurants in in the midwest.
This restaurant was a great place to relax and have a quality meal. The staff were all friendly and professional. The food was exceptional! We will most definitely be back.
Allison, our server was an amazing woman who made everything perfect for us!
We have been three times now! The steaks, salads and desserts were wonderful!
Our service was fantastic. Bread selection to start was like I have never seen. Many breads and butters. Shrinp cocktail was enormous. Appetizer portions large. Our meals were excellent and steak prepared exactly as requested. We will be back
Delicious aged steaks in a cozy and somewhat elegant environment.
Food was great but took a very long time(close to 1 hour after ordering). Drinks also took far too long to receive (over 20 minutes after ordering). Servers were nice but could have been around more due to the excessive waiting time. Steaks were tender and juicy and worth the wait however. I was also asked a couple times when making the reservation if we were celebrating anything, but server never mentioned our special occasion so not sure what they would have done for it. I think we may have caught them on an off day as a previous visit we were very impressed and things were not nearly as slow. I’d give them a shot still if your looking for a great steak.
Only issue was the smell of smoke from the casino floor.
Walking through the smoky casino was a drawback to this restaurant. The bread basket and spreads served with it were very good. Steak was very over seasoned and enteees were just ok. Service was ok. And not to the caliber expected in a nice steak house.
It was a very nice experience. Great staff. Food was well worth the short excursion.
My husband Loves the lobster bisque and I love the bread basket. Great steaks!
The staff and food were exceptional!
Great service at the table....had a 7:30 reservation...seated right away....took over an hour to get salad...overall time was almost 1 1/2 hours....way too slow....
Absolutely the best steaks and service in the area. Perfection
It's such a shame that the restaurant is right in the middle of the casino, because the whole place smells like an ashtray. That was truly the only unpleasant thing about our experience. The service and food was great, but the smell coming in from the casino was nauseating. It was our first time dining there, and because of this factor, we unfortunately won't be back. We ate dinner and spent about 45 minutes playing slots in the non smoking slot room and when we got home my husband and I stunk of smoke.
If you don't mind the smell and inhaling second hand smoke, I would reccomened this place highly!
I was very disapointed when open table contacted me and said we did not honor our commitment on our reservation. Screw them we did.... it ruined our evening coming home to a review like that. Not sure I will ever use anything contolled by open table again!!!
Enjoyed the atmosphere and the welcome from hostess and staff. Appetizers and bread basket came quickly and were excellent. The waitress tried hard but the main dish took 45 to 50 minutes to arrive. We were frustrated and disappointed because of the wait. The main course however was excellent I had tenderloin Oscar and my guests had the Dover sole The hostess did comp our appetizers but the wait was way too long
