My ribeye steak was improperly cooked and it took over 20 minutes for our server to check on us to assess our food quality and preparation; Not an acceptable experience.
Always a vacation highlight! Beautiful view, excellent food, fantastic live music and great service.
The margaritas are way too small for $20. The restaurant is indeed in a beautiful setting though.
The food was fantastic! We both got the Ono special that was cooked to perfection served over creamy, dreamy mashed potatoes. The vegetables were cooked and spiced to perfection as well. The service was excellent and the live music that played was really nice.
Service and view were excellent, but again they overcooked the Tough Calamari and the Tomato in the Caprese was thin and tasteless as was the Mozzarella, their sister Restaurants Meridia and Manta generally do an excellent Job in both of these but apparently at Copper Bar you get the other ran. Even after I sent back my it wasn't important for a manager to speak with me because they probably get the same complaints night after night.
Always wonderful.. food is fantastic! Drinks divine!!!
My birthday, but there was no special attention to it despite my acknowledging it to the hostess.
Service was slow, I had to go to the bar tender for more water. We asked for soy sauce for our sushi, it came 30 minutes later. The wine we ordered for our meal arrived just as we finished our dinner. The food was good, not great.
Food was okay but not great. Server was very good. Since we weren’t hotel guests we didn’t get a table with a nice sunset view.
We were there in January 2021, the prices were similar but the portions were basically double.
Now they are serving dinner on small side plates. Looks full but it is actually not very much food for a big price.
I guess this is our new normal but hard not to feel like they are taking advantage and trying to make up the Covid losses in one season…
We split the rib dinner. The food arrived lukewarm. The waiter did not care. If the food would have been hot it would be 4.5 stars.
We had the beet salad. It was excellent. Also the Caesar salad. It was ordered easy on the dressing. It had so much dressing some of it was not edible.
This was a flawless experience. The food was better than most Michelin star restaurants (and less expensive). The service was amazing, the ambience romantic. Our favorite moment on the Big Island.
Food was tasty, hot and served as ordered. Only downside was hostess, after seating us, asking if we received voice message earlier in day encouraging us to arrive 30-45 minutes before our 9:30pm OpenTable reservation time. Server informed us kitchen was closing at 10pm. Needless to say we felt extremely rushed during dinner. Did not receive voice message as we were taking part in a night dive. Our server worked with us so we could finish dinner and enjoy a refreshing ice cream dessert. Suggest OT modify website to cut off reservations at 8:30- 9PM instead of 9:30PM so future diners are not rushed to order, eat and leave before 10PM.
Definitely have one of the best sunset views! Food was good but we did have to ask our waiter to slow down. Felt like they were trying to turn the table quickly. Once we told him, we were able to sit & enjoy our drinks, appetizers & dinner. The KFC is a great appetizer & salads are big enough to split if you’re ordering an entree too.
Excellent food and experience. Beautiful view and very nice staff.
Food was very good. Service was a little slow but ambiance was nice so not upsetting
Service took too long and food was okay. Buffalo chicken tasted like korean chicken. We were approached within 15 minutes since we were seated.
An interesting and varied menu of salads, sushi, flatbreads and a few main dish entrees.
Good service…great ambiance….night music and hula dancer.
Copper Bar is certainly offers one of the island's best dining experiences. The food, service and atmosphere are all outstanding. Additionally, there is live music and sometimes a hula dancer, nightly.
Eduardo & Mirmar did an excellent job serving us. We enjoyed the evening immensely. Loved the music & hula dancer. Also the manta Ray's were awesome. The food was amazing.
Wonderful salad and cochon flat bread, however, the octopus appetizer was so overdone that we had to send it back - a shame.
Beautiful setting. Live local music, gentle not noisy. Truly enjoyable.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We asked to be seated where we could enjoy the sunset, and they found us a perfect spot. The food was terrific! I added fresh fish to the Butter Lettuce salad- perfect! My husband had the fish special, and it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Can’t wait to go back later this week!
Nice atmosphere. Seated quickly. Great service. Food was good.
Wonderful experience with fine food, service and entertainment. A perfect setting to enjoy.
You cannot pick a more beautiful location to sit and enjoy your meal. The staff are wonderful and serve you with hospitality and courtesy. The food is good doesn’t blow you away but definitely good. A wonderful experience sitting looking at a beautiful view.
Sushi was delicious !!
Copper Bar used to be a quiet, romantic spot, a perfect place to watch the sunset and listen to Hawaiian music. Last night it was overrun with kids, was noisy, and service was very slow. When we first arrived families with kids we’re up dancing by the musicians while they played Baby Shark! That should have been our clue! Kid we’re there til 9PM - they should have been in bed by then. Very disappointing.
Great food and service. Had a solo singer which was nice. Nice view of the sunset. Been coming out for years and recommend the fish of the day
Vegetables Laksa was just bad.
Light meal only - soup and salad - very good. Resort prices.
Amazing view and location
Relaxed atmosphere and good music
Good place for appetisers
We celebrated our 30th anniversary at Copper Bar last night and the experience was outstanding.
Service was impeccable. The food was as good as the best we’ve had in the world.
Most importantly, even though we were not hotel guests, the chefs and service professionals made us feel special.
On our next visit to the Big Island, we will be guests at the Mauna Kea. 😊
Sincerely, thank you for such a memorable night.
Arrived on time for 7:00 Saturday reservation. Hostess asked if we were staying at the hotel, when we said no she grilled us on where we were staying. From there she was rude, told us to wait and finally seated us at the worst table. Food mediocre, cocktails the same. Waitress tried hard. Won’t return.
Went to Copper Bar for a 24th anniversary for my wife and I.
The hostess Andrea, provided quick and excellent service and had us seated with menus in hand in less than 2 min. 5star+++
Our server Evette scored a perfect 100% in all aspects….she may very well have provided the BEST service experience I have ever had… hands down….
Food!!!! Oh my my……… let’s just say zero….
Menu has a wide Selection at excellent prices…. Food quality?? My family and I are blown away…… today still thinking about how good it alll was.
Lovely music and hula from Father Daughter band!
