Coppa Osteria Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding. From the warm greeting at the host stand to the gluten free graham cracker in the s’mores dessert everything was perfect at Coppa Osteria. It was a very busy Friday night, we had a 930 reservation and the restaurant was packed, but the service remained timely and the atmosphere was excellent. We had the arugula salad and Brussels sprouts side to start, both delicious. For mains we went with gluten free rigatoni and the gluten free carbonara and let’s just say there wasn’t a crumb left on either plate. I’ve been gluten free for quite a few years and have traveled extensively and the gluten free pasta at Coppa Osteria is by far the best I have ever had. To finish we tried the gluten free s’mores, a cappuccino and a latte, all were incredible. We left already talking about what we want to try next time. I can’t recommend this place enough.
There were very few people on a Friday for lunch and the service was extremely slow. I'm not sure our server fully understood our questions. He might have been in training because someone else came by first and asked if we had been there. He wasn't all that familiar with the menu.
I've been to this restaurant twice because I loved the location and outdoor seating. Both times we ordered the "Fritto Misto" and it was amazing, the flavors were unusual as was the dish. I highly recommend this appetizer. We also ordered the Zucchini Fritto and it was very good. The prosciutto pizza was a bit salty, so we won't be ordered it again. My husband ordered the Lamb Chops and he said they were the best he had around town, however the portion size was small and pricey. A friend ordered the Grilled Fish of the Day and it was very good, however the green beans were raw and portion was small for the price paid. I ordered the Spaghetti and it was very small and pricey. I would recommend this place for appetizers & wine only, the main dishes were too pricey. Oh, and service was really bad, seems they don't have enough waiters/waitresses, but they had plenty of water boys who always filled our drinks.
Everything from the food, service, cocktails and fullfillment of the reservation special requests were perfect. Our dessert was "comped" due to delays in it coming out, caused by kitchen high traffic issues. We have dined at Coppa numerous times and have only had one occasion, in the distant past, where we were mildly annoyed/aggravated by a slow, ineffective waiter. There is something for everyone on the menu!
Delicious. Everything we ate was well done and obviously well thought out. The pasta was homemade and the sauce rich but flavourful I loved the prosciutto on top. The chicken was fabulous. The veal chop was also. Desert was s’mores and good but too sweet. Overall delicious meal and when in Houston I’ll be back.
Overall the food and service were very good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was marred by a large ghastly Halloween themed chalk-art drawing depicting a zombie Marilyn Monroe . I simply could not eat looking a the disfigured and decomposing face of the iconic film star. Their wine list, usually a collection of well priced wines was also "picked-over" and out-of-date. The first two selections we made were sold-out, but the restaurant "made us a deal" on something similar to the wines that we had originally ordered.
Wonderful evening on the patio, pasta is perfect! Our only concern was the wine service, both the red and white wines were not served at the proper temperature, in both cases, much too warm. The wine list, however, is well done with lots of interesting selections
I had high hopes for this establishment but was not impressed. Food was ok but nothing special. We had a pizza, carbonara pasta, and roasted chicken, along with some appetizers of antipasti and prosciutto. Quality was not very good. Better tasting Italian food in the area.
