Loved it and will be back. The wine was great and ambiance outside too.
We started with okra and cauliflower. Both good, okra very good. Ladies shared broccoli salad and I had chopped. Both very good, especially broccoli. Sea bass and spaghetti carbonara excellent. Coffee very good and warm milk a very nice touch.
Food was amazing but gave it 4 stars because our server was pretty much MIA. Great restaurant!!
The atmosphere is great! I would recommend this as a date night spot, but the music doesn’t match the ambiance. The food is good but my meal came out cold and my husbands was warm. Good portion sizes and nice waiter.
Extraordinary service with Rafael
Food was elevated last night and wow
Thank you Coppa
Wonderful food, excellent service, good selection of wines by the glass Lovely to be able to eat pasta with a wheat allergy as well!
Another dinner at Coppa, another amazing experience! At this point, I’m not sure if it’s better to sit at the bar or sit in the main dining room area, because the team at the bar has consistently taken such great care of us! I’m not sure if we just didn’t remember correctly, but this felt like the first time we received bread service of any kind - it was welcomed, but still a surprise. The side of Crispy Potatoes was delicious, though I do wish we had a little more of the garlic aioli (very tasty). The Italian Sausage pizza was fantastic, with or without the actual sausage. The pizza had a good amount of heat, while maintaining its flavor without burning the tongue. The crust was good, but I can see why some might want it to be a little crispier to avoid the pizza being too soft overall. The Spaghetti Carbonara was very creamy and a solid carbonara overall. It was also a nice dish to share along with the pizza. The entire meal was capped off beautifully with an order of the Tortino dessert, which had a great mix of textures and a delicious and decadent flavor profile. Easily one of my favorite places in town for nice date night out or even a relaxing meal with a small group.
Woman at the front was rude and couldn’t be bothered to even hold door open. We were sat next to the door where people kept coming in an out despite there being many open tables. We ordered a cheese/meat board that had old grapes and pears, foul tasting olives, and cheese that was almost past prime. Pasta was too al dente.
Food was wonderful! Was visiting and dined there two nights in a row! Spaghetti carbonara was so good! The meatballs we’re great and the lobster and crab cannelloni was excellent! Service was great! Will go back next time we are in town.
Love it for brunch, consistently reliable food quality and great service. The Coppa Pepperoni pizza is yummy!
Great birthday dinner.
The 4 of us really enjoyed our entrees. The Snapper special was one of the best prepared entrees we have had in a long time. Alberto was very helpful and attentive! Thanks!
My first time here, it was my friend’s favorite Italian restaurant & their birthday. Everyone is very friendly, they switched waiters in the beginning. It was pretty much seamless, the food was excellent & I wood recommend the restaurant. Pretty busy even on a Monday night.
Coppa Osteria has been our favorite spot for special occasions for several years now, and they’ve never, ever disappointed. Excellent food, wine, vibe, crowd, and all around fun place to gather with loved ones to celebrate life. I’m a big fan, and will return soon.
Burrata Tartufo is amazing! Get the donuts for dessert too. Request Alfredo as your waiter-hes very good!
Always excellent service and food.
We enjoyed a family dinner with my teens. Wonderful attentive service in a beautiful atmosphere. Focaccia with butters and oils were an outstanding starter. Chopped salad could be more flavorful. Cannoli with seafood was very rich and delicious. Veal piccata is the best. Seafood scampi had giant shrimp.
Had a wonderful seat outside and I truly appreciate it all. I wanted to surprise mu husband with an Anniversary dessert but, didn't get a chance but, we will be back. I am not 100% but, I believe Manuel was out waiter and he was Fantastic!!
Fantastic quality of food !
It was my partners birthday and I added a note but they did not bring him a dessert as the normally did in the past. We LOVE Coopa!
Really good food, inspired modern Italian. Just can't go wrong.
The food is amazing and a great location is in the Rice Village. You imagine you are in a cafe somewhere in Europe. Service was excellent and again the food will want you coming back again and again.
Very tasty pasta. Loved it!
The food was great. We had two diners in our party with food allergies and everything was done to make sure the meals were prepared correctly.
This is the most crowded restaurant I have dined in since the pandemic. The tables were very close together - making us a little uncomfortable. It also made the noise level a little loud.
The shrimp pasta was delicious as well as special ordered plate of fresh grilled vegetables and the delicious desert. The "take" home white blanco pizza was amazing. Thanks
Excellent service and food.
Very enjoyable. Had the vibe of a neighborhood favorite.
Very good pastas. Minimal mains if you don't want pasta. The fish of the day was good but quite expensive for a very small portion.
The restaurant is large, but the tables are so crammed together that it seems much smaller.
My wife and I were looking forward to dinner at Coppa Osteria and considering how much I love pasta, and this is supposed to be the restaurant for fresh in-house made
pasta in their dough room. We checked in with the Hostess for our reservation and our Special Instructions we made were ignored, not a good sign to start. Then after being seated and waiting well over 10 minutes no Waiter even approached our Table. I went back to the Hostess Desk and requested to speak with the Manager and she came to our table soon after. We explained how no one even came by and she apologized and attempted to make things right by giving us a free appetizer, and the appetizer was very good. After this terrible start, we did receive good service, but the damage was already done. We started with a bottle of Barolo and kale salads and this helped the bad start. I ordered the Pasta Carbonara and my wife had the Special, Black Cod, and both of our entrees were excellent. We shared an off Menu dessert that was excellent as well. So the Questions we always ask ourselves, Would you eat there again and would you order the same food again, and the Answers are YES and YES as long as the service at the front end improves.
Loved the linguini alla scampi so much!! Such a fun trendy vibe! Meatball appetizer was delicious too. And the CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT CAKE! YUM! Will definitely be back. Valet parking is $6
Service is their key signature… well done Israel (Our server for the day) and team !
Many visits to Coppa at the old location on Washington Ave., and many to the Rice Village locations before COVID shutdowns. However, on our first visit since COVID, I was sorely disappointed with the food and the service. When we arrived, the hostess tried to seat us at a table right in front of the entry (really a table that shouldn't be there to begin with). She insisted that was the only table available while I was standing the looking at three empty tables further into the dining room. We had reservations, so it wasn't like we were walk-ins. Finally, she relented and showed us to one of the open tables I originally requested.
Once seated at the table with no place settings (none of the empty tables were set up), the waiter came over, very friendly but very lacking in server skills. It took forever to get a couple of bottles of wines and some bread for the table (had to ask twice). Finally got him back to the table to place our order, we had to ask for the HRW's menu, after reviewing the HRW menu, we learned that the pricing of the individual items on the regular menu were actually less that the HRW, but we ordered off it because of the $5 donation to the Houston Food bank. IF you take IN consideration the meatball appetizer (see below), it was quite a bit more expensive than the regular menu.
1) Meatball al Forno - Excellent, great tangy tomato sauce and crispy toast. 2) Coppa Caesar - Average Caesar salad, nothing notable. 3) Burrata & Baby Heirloom Tomatoes - Excellent flavors. 4) Spaghetti Carbonara - Just didn't seem the same as before. 5) Chicken "Under a Brick" - nice flavor, but thin end of the breast was dry. 6) Zeppole - Excellent .7) Tiramisu - Excellent.
Our sever really tried, and was friendly, but the service was lacking. Seems Coppa's food and service has slipped over the years, but they still draw a crowd. Not sure if my standards have increased or other folks' standards are not as high. Parking is horrible, must use valet.
The pastas and salads ordered for the table were superb but my special of the day, halibut was overcooked so dry and flakey.
Won't be returning while Delta rampant as restaurant felt safe but valets were not wearing masks and only one had a mask available to
The food was good but not great. The ambience was nice but the restuarant seating should be reconsidered. The tables are very close together and the noise level was high.
Great food, nice lively ambiance and good service.
We coming back
So so delicious! Had the Houston Restaurant Week experience, and everything was on point!
Recommended dish - Linguini Alla Scampi
The pasta is delicious. I don’t know if it’s made fresh in house but it tastes like it is. Great service. We dined at 1 pm on a weekday so it was pretty quiet.
