Always a wonderful experience. We love their fresh in-house pastas. They didn’t disappoint. Pasta Carbonara and mortadella filled tortellini were wonderful. Affagato and zeppoli for desert. Service was good. People watching was fun. Packed house.

Place was cool. It was just my wife and I for the-day-after-Valentine’s, and I didn’t really like passing all that open seating just be sat in the back by the wine cabinets. It would’ve been different if we’d had our 7-year-old with us. But hey, I’m not a big complainant. I don’t make big stinks when I don’t get exactly what I want, but maybe I should have in this case. Besides that, the experience was ok. It’s a nice restaurant, and I would like to give it a second chance. I’ll likely be more vocal the next time, especially if that situation repeats itself.

Coppa Osteria is one of the best and most consistent restaurants in Houston. They serve fresh, flavorful food and have a great selection of wines and cocktails. It is our go to family restaurant.

Frito misto was very good starter. The octopus special with very thick spaghetti, mussels and crushed tomato sauce was very tender and the spaghetti carbonara very rich. Enjoyed our meal and cocktails.

I have a few constant critisims of Coppa. In general the food is very good. The service is not so great. Servers frequently don't ask or bring the customer what's needed nor what I've asked for. Things like bread, butter, parmasean cheese, craked red pepper, ANOTHER GLASS OF WINE, cream for coffee, sweetner for ice tea...simple items that should be standard for ANY server in the business. You order coffee, bring sweetner and cream! You order ice tea, bring sweetner. Wine class is empty, "would you care for another Malbec"? and... if I order one, actually bring it to me! In addition, there is one waiter in particular that has the worst body oder. Sorry, it's winter and great weather...please come to work clean. It matters to the customer having a nice dinner. Again, the ambiance is amazing, especially the patio dinning and the food it wonderful.

Dinner with friends. Most of my poor review comes from the restaurants inability to properly split a check and difficulty using an opentable electronic gift card.

Splitting a check- I cannot understand why this restaurant cant provide a table with a proper accounting for a split check. My friends drink wine, 2 bottles during our recent dinner. My wife and I drink very little, none of the wine, and Coppas inability to spilt a check properly resulted in my paying for our friends wine, and a much larger bill than I should have had. I am not going to make a scene at the table and rather just sucked it up.

Using an open table gift card- first time trying to use a gift card and it went horribly wrong. First, it took the waiter and manager 4 attempts to use the electronic gift card. Once they figured it out they applied my gift card to our friends check.

So not only did I get overcharged for my meal and drinks I also was not given credit for my gift card.

The result- my meal should have cost a total of about $80-100, but I actually wound up paying $180!!!

I should not have to endure the embarrassment of haggling over my bill with the waiter, it should just be processed correctly from the beginning.

Very disappointed with the whole experience and I would love a credit back...we’ll see.

Some family from out of town came in. We went here for dinner and it was wonderful. I am gluten free and the chef made my meal perfect. I had shrimp scampi. It was so delicious. My guest were vegan and they loved the meal the chef prepared. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The employees were so kind. Thank you everyone for taking care of us.

Service was slow and inattentive. Loud obnoxious rap music playing loudly that nobody enjoyed - several tables were complaining. Appetizers and main courses all delivered together instead of being coursed out.
For some reason they lit up the patio heater without asking any customers, several tables had to gang up and ask them to shut it off. Really disappointing compared to my last visit.

Enjoyed our meals as usual. Great location in the Rice Village. Candlelight makes the restaurant feel cozy. Usually pretty packed on Friday nights so get a reservation. We enjoyed the cheese board, and all of our pastas.

Went here for my daughter's birthday. We were excited to try a new place and since she lived in Europe for awhile, she was looking for something rather authentic. We started with the Tuna Tartare, which she said was quite good but I didn't try. Also had the Burrata arancini, which was good but I thought it needed to be served with a larger portion of sauce. Daughter had the Carbonara which she absolutely loved and thought it to be very authentic Italian. I tried the Creste di Gallo alla Norcina. It was tasty, but again I felt like they "skimped" on the sauce. It was a little on the dry side. (Although I ate the leftovers the next day and it was much tastier the second day.) We also had a side of brussel sprouts; I am not even a fan but these were melt in your mouth good.

The atmosphere is lovely with a tall candle burning on each table. I was surprised to see so many families with young children, but it wasn't disruptive at all.
It was a little disappointing that no "birthday dessert" was delivered, especially since I had put it on the reservation, and they asked when we walked in whose birthday is it? I would go back again though. All in all, it was a very pleasant evening and meal.

The service was amazing. Our waitress in New Year's Eve was very sweet and went beyond regular service.
She definitely made our evening special. We would have liked to hear different music or something special to happen at midnight, but it was fine. We enjoyed the food, it was delicious!!
Thank you Coppa Osteria.

Went for New Year's Eve dinner, and was impressed, as usual. Had the meatballs and chopped salad for apps - excellent! Then on to Porcini Paparadelle for me, and Spinach Tortellini for my husband. Both were excellent, we cleaned our plates. Wine list is extensive, and affordable.

Fish special was “rubbery”. Chicken dish was served cold. Caesar salad WAY too much garlic and over dressed. Very disappointed. Coppa is not up to Clark Cooper standards.

This restaurant has much improved in the last year or so. The menu is better--now includes an excellent branzino and tenderloin steak. The kitchen has been more consistent in preparing quite good dishes. And, somebody apparently wised up and turned down the music and opted to play softer selections.

My only criticisms--(1) there should be tablecloths on every table, and (2) they should turn off the music entirely (It's too noisy to hear it and it adds to the cacophony).
