Food and service were good. Nice atmosphere. The only disappointment was dessert.
I’ve been to Copinette a few times now — the first time on Mother’s Day and then for lunch or dinner since. A nice variety of great food on the menu and very friendly service. Their peach melba has become my favorite dessert.
Perfect selections on the prefixed Valentine’s Day menu. The server Tamara was excellent
Definitely a great find and expect to return
My husband and I live in the area and go semi-regularly to Copinette, and are familiar with the regular menu. We went on Valentine's day and enjoyed dinner from the pre-fix menu, which had a nice variety. My scallop appetizer was cooked perfectly, and the branzino entree was a truly nice-sized portion, and also cooked perfectly. They managed to impress on one of the busiest days of the year, and that's why we keep goin back!
Disappointing. Beautiful space but the food was mediocre. Never give poor reviews but they don’t serve wheat bread, have any type of jam for their bread, the bacon was undercooked, and the sausage seemed like frozen links. Plus, the server forgot our mimosa.
Enjoyed the halibut and rack of lamb. Caesar salad and lobster cake were nice tasty appetizers. The ambiance was nice. Also had great martinis
We have come numerous times to Copinette. However everytime I ask for my French onion soup to be hot it is served luke warm to cool. Also in our last visit I asked that they omit the aioli sauce on my burger but they put on the bun. Had to scrape it off.
My wife loves the place so we will keep coming but I hope they honor my requests in the future.
I also wish you start serving the chicken breast slices you use to serve in the past. I love that item.
Brunch! Was amazing. Service was five star+++
Such a great place. They treat you like family. Great food, attentive service, warm comfortable ambiance. A+
First time. Excellent see you again
Meal was great. However it appears they are short staffed. Too long in seeing waiter between dishes. Took forever to order dessert and get bill. One waiter handling dining room not enough. Get that corrected and you have an excellent restaurant I’ll return to
Excellent food. Creative menu...personable staff. Generous pour Highly recommend
Branzino was delicious. Excellent service!
Can I have my $100 back? This is a knock off of a "French" restaurant serving inedible food with poor customer service. My family and I were looking to have a nice lunch on New Year's Day and came across Copinette. What a mistake. Stale bread. A waitress wearing a sweatshirt. A ravioli that claimed to have butternut squash yet it was only tiny specks of canned squash. Two branzino's that must have been taken out of a package from China. Served cold with lumpy mashed potatoes. I have had quality branzino to know what it is supposed to look like and this certainly wasn't it. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There's a reason they had seating on New Years Day. Waste of time and money.
Hi Taleen, I'm sorry to hear you had a disappointing time at Copinette. Your feedback is an atypical experience so I apologize if you received anything that is less than our standard. I left full reply where you also felt compelled to review on Yelp and Trip Advisor because Open Table does not allow enough characters. Hope you can try us again
They are always hospitable here and go out of their way to make dining a warm and comfortable experience.
we went there for New Year’s.. it was amazing, the food was great, the service excellent. We booked the restaurant earlier this day and they were all set when we came in.
Will defenitely return, if ever in New York again.
Family was in town. Everything was good except the VEAL BOLOGNESE. The meat was flavorless, the pasta also had no flavor as well. Our server was great about removing it from the bill as it was basically untouched.
Excellent service and food!!
Came here for Christmas Day dinner. Great food and reasonably priced. Service was quick. Overall very good
We had a dinner on Christmas at Copinette for my family and it was wonderful. The staff was very helpful and kind and the ambience was great. Food was unexpectedly good. Definitely would recommend.
Arriving early for our reservation we were immediately seated and served. Everyone was congenial and accommodating. The wait staff was friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with, and the food was FANTASTIC. The chef accommodated our requests, and we ate every bite of our dishes. The atmosphere was perfect for a Christmas Eve dinner in NYC!
Brunch here was amazing!! Top notch service. And some film history in this place.
Very nice, chic restaurant! Staff were very friendly and helpful to help organize a birthday surprise! Food was delicious and the place is spacious!
Unfortunately some of the worst food I’ve had in NYC - we dine out 2-3 times a week. My onion soup was cold, the lamb was quizzically drenched in mustard, the pasta bland. Give this a miss.
Sunday Brunch in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. If you’re looking for a spot for a delicious brunch in a relaxed atmosphere where you can have a nice conversation without shouting this is your place. The service is friendly and attentive.
Food was excellent! Great wait staff, enjoyed everything about this place!
Their French influenced menu has a range of dishes that would please the pickiest eaters! From soups, salads and appetizers, and entrees of fish, chicken, lamb and pastas, the food is well prepared. The wine list has both bottles and glasses along with a full bar. Service is always unobtrusive, and the noise level is good for conversations. We have been here several times, and always leave thinking about what a nice meal we just enjoyed!
The food was nasty and poor service
Note that while there is street level handicapped access, using the restroom requires interior steps or going outside and re-entering at the more southern entrance.
Copinette is a local jewel. It has managed to get right the balance of great food, great service and great value. Andrew, the owner and some time chef, makes diners feel that they are all special guests and the staff is both professional, warm and friendly.
We enjoy going to different restaurants, and were trying this one for the first . It started out very good. We were seated at a table by a window and given a very delicious hot roll , the waitress took our food and wine order. Crispy tortellini and an arugula salad were to be shared appetizers. My son and myself ordered the Hazelnut-mushroom crusted halibut my husband the copinette burger. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay requesting it be chilled. It was served with an excuse that “the French drink their wine warm”. Well we ordered a California Chardonnay and they are served chilled. Our appetizers were brought out. Only they weren’t our appetizer s. They were were the two halibut dinners and the salad☹️ Quickly carrying the dishes back to the kitchen the server returned with our salad and the tortellini. My husband asked that the two dinners served as appetizers not be served to us as our dinner. We were assured fresh food would be served . The appetizers were both delicious. Out come our dinners with in minutes of our first course being cleared. One look at my plated and I knew this was the original dinner that showed up as an appetizer. The sauce had separated and the butter in it congealed. It was definitely not hot and odiously not fresh, my sons was the same. My husband found his burger delicious done how he asked with crispy French fries. The manager stopped by our table and asked how was our meal . My husband told him about the mix up in serving, he said he was aware of it and new food was prepared for us. This I find the worst offense. Do you think I don’t know the difference between freshly cooked good and something that’s been sitting around for a half hour,
Needless to say we won’t be going back.
Delicious food!! Great for groups
Overwhelmed staff do their best to manage, but this is not a well run restaurant. Four of us received our brunch, forty minutes after ordering, to find poached eggs with hard yolks for Benedict, and ice cold side potatoes. We received apologies and free dessert but once was enough at Copinette.
Diverse menu; very good food. Ambiance is lovely; warm lighting and heavy crushed velvet curtains make the large dining room cozy. Service attentive and efficient.
This place had it all but.... the food was average at best! Atmosphere, wait staff, wine list very good! I would give it another shot if were not in NYC.
Well, the place looks pretty good (primarily, as regards the ambience). I hosted a business luncheon there last Friday (for 7 persons in total). The service was a way too slow. As to food, I found it fairly decent but no more than that (btw, we chose a prix fixe lunch menu for 42 USD). In overall, I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for luncheon.
Great service and food was great!
A gracious hostess seated us and a waiter was most attentive throughout the evening. The food was excellent and we had a most enjoyable dinner chatting. We were never hurried, which is a necessity for me. All in all, we had a great evening.
I had lunch the other day:
Ambience: It was not very busy at the time we were there. This made for a comfortable noise level.
Seating: We were seated by the side door (not the main entry door). Whenever a staff member went outside and back inside that door, the winter chill took us a few minutes to recover. You might consider another egress for the staff. I'm sure it would be appreciated.
Food: Good. Fresh.
Service: Professional. Accommodating.
