We were excited for a great meal on Father's day, however, it was disappointing. Menu was not easy to read or understand and scattered in different places. Two of our party of six had the bone in pork chop and 50% of it was fat. My pasta was highly recommended and it had very little flavor, and the ingredients appeared to be skimped on. Enjoyed the atmosphere, but it was loud and difficult to hear. Wish I could rate this higher because we don't like spending money on so-so meals.
Excellent Italian Cuisine. We just love this place. Inviting space with friendly staff and fantastic food makes for an exceptional experience every time. Great happy hour. Crazy good bartenders who know the right way to make a cocktail. Can't go wrong at this
One of the four entrees and one of the four side dishes were way too salty to be enjoyable. One of pasta dishes was also dry. I would not come back here again.
Great spot! Food was excellent and definitely done much more in traditional southern Italian style. We had an excellent and very knowledgeable waiter who did a great job explaining our choices and had an actual knowledge of the food! Delicious!!
This place is always amazing! The staff is super friendly and the food is always delicious.
food and service was wonderful. Very loud to have a conversation with people.
But food was fabulous.
Best cacio e Pepe and negroni I’ve had outside of Rome!!
Our server was not attentive and seemed put out by us being there. The food was ok, but the portions were small for the price.
Great food, super awesome service!
Absolutely fabulous food!!! We went early ~ 5:15 so the noise level was not too high. We'll be back!
Server and food was INCREDIBLE. Everyone was so happy with the experience and it was such a great time. Would recommend in a heartbeat.
Delicious with wonderful service! The lamb and beef ragu is not to be missed.
The food was excellent! There were many items not found on many Italian restaurants. The servers were knowledgeable and very good. We sat outside and enjoyed the neighborhood.
Wonderful date place. Amazing food. Great low key ambiance. Great service.
My Cace de Pepe was as great as any I have had in Italy. I also loved my simple green salad and the chocolate sorbet. My friend had Eggplant Parm. It was a very small portion and very oily. She had a really delicious vegetable noodle soup . Her Pear Sorbet was very chunky and had crystallized. We asked for bread and received a few slices. My other negative comment comes from the fact that even though we were there at 5pm they were out of a number of menu items.
The service was superb though, Great team work and very attentive.
Always a great time here. Had a wonderful dinner with my mom. Food and service both amazing. Thank you!
Had a great time at Coperta! Went there on date night and we both had the three course meal. The risotto balls and calamari alone are good enough to return. I got the sirloin too. They didn’t ask how I’d like it cooked and it came out basically rare. I sent it back and it came back still very rare. Make sure you tell them how you like it! Otherwise it was incredible!
We've been to Coperta on several occasions - food is always good, though the place is very noisy -"energetic" is fine, but difficult to carry on a conversation. I had the whole sea bass which was excellent, but was left to bone it myself using a small serrated knife. I know "sort of" how to do this, but it would be a fine (classy) touch if the servers were taught how to do it properly and given the correct tools. Also, when I asked for a separate plate to put the fish head/bones, etc., I got a quizzical look, though it seemed a reasonable request to me. Finally, our plates were not removed in a timely fashion at the end of the meal - we actually stacked them at the end of the table (horrors!), and the waiter thanked us! Huh? When one pays a lot of money for a meal (the fish alone was $38.00), one has a right to expect a certain level of service, even on a busy night. (I am aware of how hard it is to get waitstaff in Denver - but it seems there needs to be more coordination and some more training in the basic skills of serving.) Those negatives aside, I like Coperta and will go back - perhaps on a less busy night.
- our plates were not cleared in a timely fashion, and
Great food in a great space
we were at Coperta over a month ago for the first time and it was excellent, so we went again Thursday, May30. this time it was AWFUL!!!!
FIRST THEY DELIVERED THE WRONG DISHES after a loooong wait, and were not happy when we pointed that. The, after another long wait the waited delivered half of the order for one of us and nothing for the other. Another long wait and only the side order of spaguety that was supposed to come with the Eggplant Parmigiana ,which did not arrive until after a long wait, and was totally inedibly burned! Can not imagine how hard they had to try to ruin the dish and our dining experience. Not a semblance of apology from the waiters(more than one) or the manager that never showed her/his face.
To ashamed???? then the waiter had the gall to ask if I wanted to take the dish home!?!?!?!
Our server was not at all attentive and was very late bringing cocktails and food. We were disappointed in the service. The food was great as usual.
The food, service, and ambience were excellent.
Excellent drinks, dessert and ambiance. Food is good not exceptional. All of the apps we got on their starter menu were substantially over salted which is unusual.
The food at coperta was excellent. Everything we had was superb from the asparagus appetizer to the tres leches dessert. The server paid just the right attention to our table. We ordered the Sardinian white wine which was the special for the night and it pleased everyone at the table. I can’t find anything negative to say about this restaurant.
Absolutely fabulous. The food was authentic, creative and amazing. Service was friendly, professional and timely. One of our favorite meals in Denver! We will be back.
We had a great meal. Food was wonderful, as usual. I had the multi-course set meal which was freshly prepared and flavorful.
Food was delicious and the ambience was quaint! The mozzarella was so good! Will definitely come back!
We enjoyed the vibe, but the food was very mediocre. Overpriced pasta, that was not that impressive. The wine and apps were pretty good though.
Uneven experience. Some food was great. But, some of our dishes were so salty, they were almost inedible. The asparagus mousse was so salty, we couldn’t taste anything but salt. Several of the pasta dishes were likewise incredibly salty.
Calamari was good. Gelato and donuts very nice.
We had nice service with a knowledgeable waiter, but we were dining on Mother’s Day with 2 mothers, yet the hostess barely smiled or greeted us.
We will probably give it another try, but if the food is as salty again, we won’t go back.
I love this place! Great neighborhood feel, and this month's Sardinia feature menu hit right on the money. Will is fantastic - at this point I just let him order for me and it's always great.
Great overall experience. We enjoyed all of the courses and the pace was relaxed, never rushed. Our server was exceptional.
Pasta was tasteless. Been there a few times. Loved the eggplant. Would not recommend it. the appetizer was good but expensive for the size.
We like the location, facing the park and the openers and light of the rooms. The calamari was outstanding, as was the ravioli. Worth a visit.
My friend and I had a lovely experience at Coperta. I thought the soup was too salty but everything else was wonderful. I would rather be in a restaurant with a less than “energetic” noise level, but since we got there early we had time when we could have a conversation before the restaurant got really busy. The service was excellent and so were the Manhattans! Thank you.
Very satisfied with everything about our experience. Highly recommend you enjoy as well. Thank you one and all. Exceedingly amazing on every level.
We love Coperta! It's the closest thing to eating in Italy :) The food and the service are phenomenal!
Our experience at Coperta was quite good for my partner's birthday dinner. The host was pleasant when she greeted us, and we were seated promptly even though we were a few minutes early for our reservation. The large windows at the front of the restaurant make for great evening light in the summer, and the space felt vibrant (it helps that it smelled amazing as we walked in!). Our server seemed a little harried, but she was kind and willingly offered recommendations. Our starter, the salumi plate, was delicious! The pickled onions and the house-made beef lengua were both something we would return for. The cavatelli is absolutely to die for. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the ragu was flavorful and complex without being overbearing. I would eat it every night if I could. The mezzaluna special with bacalao was tasty, and well worth trying. On the downside, the service we received was lacking. We noticed other tables were brought bread and dipping oil to start, which we did not receive (perhaps because we ordered a starter?), and the beverage service was very slow (my partner did not receive his beer with dinner at all, and our server wasn't around enough for us to let her know). The support staff kept our waters filled and our plates always arrived at the table hot; however, our server left near the end of the meal and handed us off to another server who was curt to say the least. She was even less attentive than the first, and we felt rushed as we ate dessert; she did not stay long enough when dropping the check for us to address the beer that never came. I must say that I am grateful to the sous chef who dropped off dessert menus, marked our table, and checked on us, and to the support staff who made sure that we didn't feel entirely neglected. The food was truly wonderful, and we will be back to give the team another chance.
Incredible flavor profiles and outstanding level of service!
Coperta is wonderful restaurant with a cozy, old neighborhood feel to it.
The menu specials change regularly as they focus on various regions of Italy.
However, they alwasy have an option of a small & regular plate size of some of their pasta dishes, which is a great idea.
Service is always first rate - the staff if knowledgeable and attentive.
