Coopers Restaurant & Wine Room
It was our wedding anniversary. Everything was wonderful. Delicious food. Great people. Clean bathrooms.
Met some old friends half way in sleepy little Sanford. Restaurant was a recommendation by a co worker and did not disappoint. Great atmosphere and the food was very delicious. Also had a great wine selection. We spent hours there and the staff was extremely patient with us. Great experience!!
I really like Coopers. Sanford needs a place like this. Thought the brunch prices were a little pricey and not enough non-egg dishes. Have also eaten here for dinner and the prices were fair for what you got. The chef does an excellent job preparing the food. It is delicious. They have run out of items on the menu but was able to chose a different item. Overall, it is a nice addition to Sanford!
Excellent service and food. Raving to friends about our experience.
Recently went to Coopers with my husband and another couple to celebrate my birthday . My husband ordered his steak medium it was well done . I ordered the fish and chips expecting crunchy fish the breading was not done and it fell off the fish in one whole piece . The fish was undercooked and too salty . We had eaten there before about 2 months ago and it was really good . I was very disappointed with my visit this time. Would not recommend now!!
This was our second visit. Everyone enjoyed their meal very much. One thing, could not understand why they couldn't make s white wine spritzer. Waiter said they didn't have the wine but there is a whole list of white wines on the wine menu? Maybe the waiter needs to be trained in such things. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Consistently excellent! Coopers has excellent farm to table fare.
Food was tasty and well-seasoned.
I believe my only feedback would be to improve on food platting and presentation. For the $ spent and also type of atmosphere, the food would be even more appealing if platting was more “artistic”.
Food tasted excellent, but the platting could use some improvement to match the style and type of restaurant this place aims to be.
We had a wonderful celebration for my brother's 60th at this restaurant. Food was outstanding and drinks yummy but the wine pours on the lighter side. Definitely want to recommend for a celebration as you wouldn't stop here for a quick bite. You're paying for creative and high quality dishes
NC hidden gem tucked away in our little town!
Everything on that menu is outstanding from thw meats to the fish! Can’t go wrong.
What a great find... top notch food. Beautiful presentation. Delicious flavors. Right here in downtown Sandford. Can’t wait to save up and go back. Special kudos to the bar selection. Scrumptious.
Love this restaurant so much! Everything about it!
Would recommend for the food. Hardly "silver service" but quite adequate and very friendly. A tad overpriced for the overall experience but worth the effort getting down to Sanford
The only thing better than their food is their service!
This is the second time I've been and both times, the food was delicious. Everyone in our party was happy with their selection. The problem is...there isn't much to choose from so it's not the type of place I would go to often. They need repeat customers to survive so may want to consider a larger menu or at least several specials, particularly on weekends. Also, more than one dessert selection. Ice cream that is not made in house, no matter how good, is not a satisfactory offering for a fine dining restaurant.
All of us had a wonderful time. Very relaxing, good food, staff was very helpful and informative.
We knew it was going to be expensive, however, we all enjoyed Cooper's and will definitely be back.
I have had the pleasure of bringing friends and real estate clients to your establishment and I will continue to do so. The food is second to none. The filet steak au poivre is my favorite. My husband loves the oyster appetizer. The staff are all very prompt, professional and courteous. It is wonderful seeing the downtown area growing with such refinement. Thank you!

The food and service is always amazing!
Food and waitstaff (Garrison) were delicious. Our guest from Raleigh felt it was well worth the drive. They intend to return soon to have the porkchops. We raved about them from a previous visit but they were out. Evidently, the word is out on how delicious they are. Not that it mattered as our meals were delicious (salmon, shrimp and grits, and chicken).
Coopers adds another level and option to Sanford dining.
Stylish, delicious restaurant in downtown Sanford. Perfect place to go before or after Temple Theatre! Love the large but delicate Riedel wine glasses!
The steak was the best I’ve ever eaten. The potatoes not so much, cool and on the dry side. The cocktails were wonderful so was the wine we ordered. All in all a good time was had by all . This from a party of 9
Wonderful food and a great service experience. We celebrated my daughter‘s birthday dinner and she is a restaurant publicist and had nothing but good things to say.
We had an Amazing experience at Cooper’ s Restaurant.. The food was delicious, presentation was first class and the flavors were so outstanding.. Hats off to the Chef and management and our waiter was very attentive and pleasant!! Can ‘t wait to go back and enjoy a great meal!! Highly recommend!!
The food and the service is great, but the interior isn't quite as highbrow as you might expect for the price. I don't mean to be snooty, but if you pay 30-40 dollars per plate, you expect a certain ambiance. I had the shrimp and grits as an appetizer and the filet au poivre and they were both to die for. Would absolutely go again for the amazing food, but I wouldn't concern myself to much with the dress code.
THIS is a great addition to Sanford. We are in desperate need of good restaurants.
Have returned regularly.
A very nice set up for this small town. Although the food was well prepared and presented, for brunch, I thought the pricing was excessive. $18 for a hamburger at brunch on Sunday $25 plus entrées.This ain’t New York.
Grouper was great, both presentation & taste. Steaks were good a little over cooked. However, they were very busy so this was probably just a slip up. We are returning customers and have had several great experiences here. We will continue to dine at Coopers!
That was one of the best steaks that I have EVER eaten! And the food presentation is beautiful!
Fantastic shrimp and Grits! Would definitely recommend.
Another great experience at Cooper’s! Salmon was cooked perfectly, wine selection amazing and service was outstanding.
The food was delish - we split the crab cakes, enjoyed the salmon and the pork medallions. The side salad was unimpressive - warm lettuce without much else, and the wine we ordered was not available. The alternative pinot noir was warm - needed to add ice cubes! Our server was attentive.
Brunch at Coopers was amazing. Food was fresh and delicious and the drink specials were a great value and tasty as well. Service was quick and wait staff very attentive.
Best crab cakes I have ever eaten. Food is exceptionally good! Wonderful chef! Great dining experience especially for a small town like Sanford.
Service and food were fantastic. We highly recommend Cooper’s.
Excellent food. The filet was done to a perfection. Love the salad with the fresh blue cheese dressing. Everything they can source locally, they do. Its on the pricey side but i would highly recommend.
Coppers offers wonderful choices on their menu. I intend to dine there again soon to try some of the other dishes. The steak tartar was excellent and it was a surprise to see it on the menu in Sanford. I love house salads served on cold dishes and the salad was chilled too. I was very good. The shrimp and grits was excellent. My wife raved about their crab cakes. I will be sure to try them next time.
This was our first time visiting Coopers since they renovated. The new menu is amazing. Our food was excellently presented and delicious.
The food and wine were delicious. The wait staff was very attentive and appreciative that we had come in to give them a try. I will go back to try other items on the menu.
It is always a treat. The menu items change so it never gets boring. The owner is always there and comes to the tables to say hello. Never a disappointing meal. Well worth the price. Now Sanford has a restaurant that is actually superb!
This was our first visit to Coopers. The food was fantastic and our server was easy to get along with. Three notes... it took a little long in between salads and entrees. Not terrible, and ultimately worth the wait. There isn’t a kids menu at all. That’s fine, but have the server ready to come to the table and give options when they see children at the table. Have like two or three solid kids choices ready to talk about. The decor... this may be just me and they may be still working on it, but it felt a little cheap. The space is open and historic and could really be designed well. I’ll keep my eyes out for updates when I go back, because I will go back.
