   While I generally give 5 stars on my visits here, today was not a 5 star day. Food service was quite slow and it wasn’t even busy. I ordered the chef recommendation for lunch - Cilantro Lime Chicken salad. This salad was just ok. Normally their salads are outstanding but this one just didn’t hit the mark.

   Excellent lunch and service. A bit on the pricey side but wonderful venue for special occasions.

   It was okay. Not anything spectacular- we all ordered things we normally would not get at home. The atmosphere was what made it more generic- the service was average- lots of waiting and wasn’t really attentive- he hit the basics but that’s about it. Maybe I’d go back for wine and appetizers, but it’s really not a “special occasion” kind of place.

   Well the last few times we’ve gone to Cooper’s Hawk in Surprise, we have not been pleased. Our favorite appetizer is the Brussel sprouts & we rave about them when we invite guests. Twice now they have arrived at our table completely charred. Even though management gives us a credit it doesn’t make up for not being able to enjoy the dish. Service has been extremely slow & last night my iced tea wasn’t delivered until we stopped a server & asked for it the second time. We are members of the wine club & have visited Cooper’s Hawk in several states the last few years. It makes me sad that the Surprise location has been such a disappointment, especially since it is so close to us.

   As always, the food was perfectly prepared and very flavorful. Our server, Jacob, was simply outstanding and added to the excellence of the evening. The wine, of course, was amazing. An excellent place to enjoy a relaxing meal. Highly recommended.

   Take my wife out today, she is going into surgery within 2 days for knee re-vision (80 years old) and won’t be able to dine out for several weeks.

   It was my niece’s birthday. We just moved to this part of town so were excited to see such good reviews for this place so made reservation for her birthday. Was the food good? Yes, food was done beautifully and presentation was great. Was the wait staff attentive and get order correct? Yes, she did a great job. How was the variety of entree choices? This too was done well, with something on the menu for everyone. Would I come back? Probably, everyone agreed food was good, atmosphere was inviting and not too loud. My only challenge with the experience is that it was my niece’s birthday. I wrote this on the original reservation. When I called, I mentioned and they said they saw my comments in my reservation and they would make her feel special and recognize her celebration. When I checked us in, I mentioned the birthday again, and yes, yes, we have a special experience planned for you, it will be great, and then… nothing. Service was nice, but no recognition of her birthday. She’s pretty low key but also does so much for everyone else, taking care of sick relatives, and always being the connector in family affairs, I really wanted something special for her, and yes the food was nice, service was nice, etc., but absolutely no mention of her birthday or special celebration at all, we were just regular customers, like we just showed up and came to the restaurant. Regular is fine, it was a great meal, just nothing above and beyond and after the initial reservation, phone call to confirm specialness and check-in reminder and confirmations and yes yes it will be amazing and memorable, and then just no mention again, was kind of disappointing.

    It is usually great but went to Sunday brunch and service was poor and both brunch had uncooked eggs, and not flavorful at all. Disappointed as usually a great experience and great food. Maybe they just had a bad day?
