Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Reston
Dinner with our granddaughter
Always a great experience. The food is amazing.
The acoustics were so bad that we could barely have a conversation without shouting across the table. It was annoying.
Our service was great, the food was great and the choice of wines was amazing! Def will visit again
I can't speak to highly of this location. Always treated like the most important person in the house.
A group of us came in after work, still in work uniforms and obviously working class folks and somehow we ended up with what turned out to be mgr. waiting us, it was really busy, and he treated us like we were the most important people in the place, explaining the wines to us, obviously we were not $100 a bottle drinkers.... And the other times we have been there, the staff are all so nice, of course that tells you about management. Food and decor wonderful of course. I guess, the best thing I can say, it's a high class "Cheers", it gives you that feeling of belonging and being really welcome.
Enjoyable dinner. Not too loud. Great food.
Excellent all-around! We had a very nice lunch and everyone loved the food. The Chocolate Cake was exceptionally good.
Our waiter was a delight. The wine sampler and house beer delicious and our waiter served two birthday guests with a surprise dessert, which was unexpected. The food selections are amazing.
Excellent food and service
My friend and I went to the Reston location Sunday evening at 5:30. There were a lot of families there with very young kids so there was a lot of screaming snd yelling… Not the best day or time to go there if you were looking for a quieter meal. My friend ordered the salmon from the lighter option menu and was pleased with it. I ordered the gnocci carbonara But found it to be very salty and garlicky. Our waiter questioned whether or not I liked it Since I left more than half of it on my plate and he asked me to be honest so that is what I told him. Within a few minutes the manager came over and said he would take the price off of our tab because it was not to my liking. I did not expect that and was very pleased… Our server, Nate, was very nice and professional. The chocolate cake for dessert was very good.
Great service and food. Portion size good also.
We visited Cooper’s Hawk for the first time for a wine tasting and lunch, and enjoyed both immensely. Wine, food and service was great across the board. A special shout-out to our waiter, Max, who was fabulous with attentive service and solid recommendations.
This was my first time at the restaurant after hearing several recommendations from others. This restaurant did not disappoint. Our waiter, Nate, was fabulous! He brought us wine samples and provided candid recommendations about the menu. His suggestions were spot on and the meal was delicious! I look forward to getting back to Cooper’s Hawk again.
We planned to have a nice lunch, couples time. However, we were sat by a large table that had a bunch of children and loud talking adults. We asked to be moved a few tables away and were. However, the hostess then sat a 2nd loud table with kids literally right next to our booth! There were a lot of other open tables and servers, so there was no reason to turn a nice quiet lunch for 2 into a Red Robin type experience. We are not opposed to kids or large groups having fun, but we could not hear each other, the other tables were so loud! The kids were playing with games and crayons and at times were under our table retrieving lost crayons. The parents were oblivious and the hostess said she'd tell the manager, no one ever came by, maybe because it was too tight to fit or he knew he couldn't be heard! We took our food and wine to go.
The food is great and Jordan and Rachel are very good waiters
Everything was great as usual, one addition could make it even better for winter months. Place a few fire pits outside and that area could become usable even in very cold weather. Many of us like to sit around a fire pit in cold weather.
I am a huge fan of Cooper's Hawk in Loudoun, Reston and Richmond, and I have probably introduced about 15 people to the wonderful experience of CH. However, this visit started off rocky. I had made a 7:30 pm reservation based on a flight we were coming in on to Dulles. We were early. We got there about 6:45pm and requested an earlier seating. I was prepared to hear no for an answer because the restaurant was very busy, but the 2 young ladies who were manning the stand said in a most flip and uncaring way that it was likely take all the time until 7:30 for a table to be freed up, and then they made it clear they were done with us until 7:30 pm. I am a person with mobility issues; I could not stand for that amount of time and there is no readily available seating for people waiting except one small bench that was taken. I am not accustomed to CH staff treating me in such an officious manner. Based on the very poorly designed entrance to the Reston location and this experience I had there, I may limit future visits to Loudoun. I am always disappointed when a favorite restaurant lets me down!
Went to dinner with 2 other couples. We were sat promptly. Great decor and lively atmosphere. If you are looking for a quiet location, this is probably not the best choice. We were talking with elevated voices in order to be heard across the table. All the food was excellent though. My wife had the seared Tuna on a salad and I had the Chicken Picata, both off which tasted great. We all had a great time and were allowed to linger since we were talking with our friends. Would totally recommend.
The place is overrun with the young loud crowd. The food is mediocre at best, and always too oily. The wine is overpriced unless you are in their club. I was. I have now resigned and will not go there again.
This was dinner on a Wednesday night and the place was CROWDED and very noisy. That's fine if it is what you were looking for - we wanted to be able to talk a bit and that was tough. Food was good as always and service was fine - not super fast but definitely good enough especially given the busy restaurant. Next time I will try to get a table near the edge and/or stick to the bar area where it is more spaced out!
Happy hour was great
We made a reservation through Open Table. When we arrived we're told we had to wait for 20 minutes because there were no open tables, even though we had reserved one at a specific time. After waiting 30 minutes I was told that my party "had been seated" even though clearly we hadn't. Turns out our table had been mistakenly given to another party, so there was an additional wait.
The food and ambiance is amazing! Wine is also reasonably priced. Overall awesome experience. Can not wait to go back!
The overall experience was good, but the surf and turf portion was very disappointing.
Busy but we got seats at the bar and as always the food was great
Went here for my Wife’s birthday dinner. We loved everything except the non-wavering tasters at the Wine Tasting counter. Every time a spot opened someone would either widen their personal bubble or beat us to the spot. At least twice we were “pushed” out of the way like this, so we never got to experience the wine tasting.
The food was amazing! We will definitely be coming back. As for the wine, we had the Masters Flight and the Reds. For both flights we like at least 2 really well and one or two on the borderline, but mostly positive for both flights.
Even though we had reservations (made 3 weeks in advance), we weren't seated 40 minutes LATE! They did send free appetizers to the table (to try to make up for the long wait). But after we finished, they LOST our credit card! Still have not found it...we had to cancel the card with our bank and, you know, what an inconvenience that isl.
While the food was very good, we will not be returning to the restaurant again.
Daughter engagement with new in-laws!
It was excellent. The seating was fast with a reservation. The noise level was way too high. You could still hear each other in a booth. The best part is the food is so, so delicious and the menu is different to wet your appetite.
Great food and wine. Service is a little slow but it gives you plenty of time with friends. The noise level is a bit high but that just means people are having a great time.
Always good service and fabulous food!
I went for my wife's birthday on Halloween night. VERY short staffed. Service was very slow and food was below par from what we're accustomed. We're regulars at Coopers. I hope management is listening. Need to staff up on holidays.
Food was disappointing. Our server was very nice. The manager was only ok. I might give them another chance.
There was a long time between ordering and getting our food. One member of our party got her bbq chicken salad without chicken. It was remedied but even more time. I told the waiter we had a birthday at the table, but no acknowledgement at the end or offer of free dessert for him.
The service was present without being overwhelming. Server was friendly and attentive and let us set the pace. Delicious choices, the ahi tuna Asian salad was exceptional.
Everything was very good. Service and food. Didn’t have time to do a wine tasting before dinner but was able to sample the wines of the month. One of them was the John Legend wine. Had the crispy Brussel sprouts and the Maui shrimp. Both were excellent. Dessert list looked very good but was too full. Will definitely go back again.
Love this restaurant. The food and service never fail
Love the food and the wine.
But too loud for whatever reason!
This was our 2nd time coming to Cooper's Hawk and both times we were very satisfied. Menu has a nice selection for different tastes. Highly recommend trying it out if you haven't done so already.
LOVE love this place! What a cool environment - for any age! The place was bustling on a Saturday night....which we expected. Tons of menu options for all different types of food. Cannot say enough about those DELISH brussel sprouts for an appetizer - WOW.....yummo! Our waiter was one of the best ever.......fantastic!
