Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Reston
Very pleasant for conversation! Server was considerate and efficient
Fantastic evening with great food and of course excellent wine! Jonathan, our waiter, was outstanding!
Food wasn’t very good, sauce broken, pork chop dry and veggies burned. Good for wine but don’t recommend for dinner....
The food and wine were good, but not the best place for people with dietary restrictions other than gluten (I think they have a GF menu). We mentioned our food allergies up front and felt as though we were inconveniencing them. I mean, we are, but just don't make us feel like it. Also, didn't really feel like they put in much effort with the substitutions we had to make. Just steamed veggies, no seasoning or anything else on them. Meh.
Gathered with friends for a retirement celebration that included a gift membership to the wine club. We had lots of fun. Celebrated with sparkling, our friends got to try different flights and we had a bottle with dinner. Part of the part was vegetarian, others health conscience, and we all found items to eat that were delicious and satisfying. Zachary the waiter took good care of us. He found the perfect balance of being available and helpful yet leaving us space & time to enjoy our celebration
We visit CH once a week for date night or to introduce others to CH. We INSIST on having Chris as our server. He is friendly, knowledgeable and very skilled. He always makes us feel as if we were in his own home. KUDOS to Chris!!!
A fun place to eat! The menu offers a wide variety and is unique. Everything is delicious! The flights are a great deal, too! Friendly staff, too.
We met up with friends from Williamsburg and stayed much longer than we intended. The waitress was outstanding. She checked in on us appropriately and did not make us feel rushed. She went out of her way to accommodate us. We had a truly outstanding time this past Friday.
Excellent service, but the very loud atmosphere made conversation a bit difficult. We enjoyed the appetizers and made those our dinner.
We really enjoyed our time at Cooper Hawk- wish it could have been less crowded with big afterwork tables. our waiter was attentive but swamped. We had to wait a longer than needed to place our orders. Our drink order was mixed up, but the staff recovered quickly and beautifully. Perhaps two or three more people on staff (and someone may have called in sick). Was a little disappointed that when we checked in early and went to the tasting table, in full view of the hostess (and 2 others) 6 feet away, they did not text me that our table was available sooner. I had to go up and ask. A very enjoyable evening, just a few service misses.
Parking was a challenge, there was a valet sign absent the vAlet , handicap parking was quite a distance from the entrance. Enjoyed the ambiance of the store, bar and the restaurant. We had a very comfortable booth for the 4 of us. Great for talking. Our 2 shared appetizers were plenty for the table, Brussel sprouts were tasty but the calAmari needs to be re thought ... rings of squid in tempura with honey or a concoction of a sweet glaze . My friend had surf and turf ( filet medallions and crb cake) but he felt it was over priced for what was served. Our other friend had a grouper smothered in sauce ... she made no comment either way , my other friend had a salad with steak on it and said it was ok, nothing to write home about. I had. Wedge salad with too much balsamic but plenty of blue cheese and bacon. My jambalaya was tasty, lots of shrimp, and priced just. Little high . Our shared dessert of graham cracker crust banana something had great crust and that’s it the filling was not memorable. Did enjoy some wine tasting but I think tasting and appetizers will be it for me . Compliments to the service we had, and the pretzel bread was. Nice touch !
Good food. Great wine. Excellent service by Blake. We were actually seated prior to our reservation time.
Fun. Great value for happy hour. Food is delicious. Service was super.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our meals were delicious! We especially enjoyed the wine flights.
Love Coopers Hawk. Service is always terrific. Food is good especially appetizers. Don’t miss the Brussels sprouts!
The server Jon was attentive & knowledgeable, but somewhat inflexible. The food & drinks were delicious.
Great food, wonderful wine selection and great value
The service was amazing and the food was fantastic! Also recommend the peach sangria, best I’ve ever had.
I have been a member for 6 months and gave totally enjoyed my visits with my friends. Last weekend I brought my husband and a vistor. We all had the best time and best food/experience.
Everything was superb. From the wait staff to the meal. Outstanding as always
Service was not as good as usual
Excellent food and wine pairings, excellent service. Ambiance, food, and wine encourages conversation and relaxed dining. I don’t remember when I could look around a restaurant and see every table in engaged conversations. I noticed only two phones out, and one was on the table. Wow!
This is a great restaurant for connecting through food and conversation. And they had great gluten free options. I will definitely return!
Made the reservation and had dinner with a friend. Restaurant layout allows for higher noise volume.
Good wines, for any taste. Innovative, tasty appetizers.
Great service and meal!
Two free tastings of wine and reasonable prices for great food make this a great place!
Jordan was an exceptional server. He was very friendly, courteous and attentive. There was a slight issue with my meal selection and Jordan quickly fixed it without hesitation. He ordered me a different entree and removed the price of my original order. Jordan’s desire to make things right made me feel like a valued customer and I greatly appreciated his efforts. I will definitely return to this restaurant to enjoy another fantastic meal and service experience.
Food was good, and I appreciate the selection of gluten-free options that were available. We sat and talked for more than 3 hours (!), but never felt pressured to move on. Waitress didn’t even bring the check until we’d been there for 2 hours or so.
We requested a booth when we arrived and the request was honored. The menu has a wide variety and the food was tasty and was as described. The service was timely and very friendly. We purchased some chocolate covered strawberries and truffles on the way out and that service was a bit slow. We'd return here.
The good was delicious and we enjoyed our tasting. First time at this location but would definitely return the next time we are in the area.
New Years eve
Food, wine and service were very good. Service was a little slow this time, possibly due to New Year's eve. Brussel sprouts, crab as appetizers are good. Good choice for wines, and service staff is knowledgeable. Will go back again.
Came here for the first time for New Year's Eve dinner with my boyfriend. Ordered steak, along with wine-- absolutely delicious. Great service. Great food. Lovely night. Will definitely be coming back soon!
We were seated quickly and the hosts were very polite
The service was VERY good
The wine selection was high quality
The appetizer (Mexican Drunken Shrimp) was creatively plated and tasty
The Shrimp and Lobster Bisque and Wedge Salad were both delicious
The Key Lime Pie and espresso were excellent
The entrees did not thrill:
- the Maple, Mustard & Pretzel-Crusted Boneless Pork Chop was slightly charred and very dry
- the Soy and Ginger Glazed New Your Strip tasted neither of soy nor ginger - not even a tiny little bit, and the size was rather petite for the price
- the wasabi buttered mashed potatoes could have use some more wasabi butter (best part of the dish really)
- the garlic green beans had not even a hint of garlic
- the espresso machine broke down so I was unable to get a second cup (not a huge big deal though)
To sum up, I would definitely go back. The service was commendable and maybe it was due to the fact that it was New Year's Eve, the entrees just weren't up to the usual standard? I 'd be glad to give it a second chance on a non-holiday night. Some of the other patrons' dishes looked very good. I will ask the server for recommendations next time.
I spent 20 years in the restaurant industry as a server and bartender, so I am familiar with all of the ins and outs. I give this experience 4 stars regardless of the negatives and would like to come and try again eventually. The positives are worth it.
We went there on New Year's Eve. I have been other places on such an occasion where reservations fell far behind, the service was poor, meals were rushed, menus were limited, and the food was not as good as usual. Everything here proceeded at the same pace and high quality of food and service that I expected. We enjoyed the evening.
New Year’s Eve Celebration.
New Years eve dinner
The food was excellent. Menu item was Thai shrimp and scallops. It was a winner. Hope it is brought back on the menu.
For second visit in a row - were out of lobster bisque
