Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Oak Park
PRO: Food and wine were both very good. Nice waitress; she was apologetic for delayed appetizer and provided my wife and me each with a complimentary glass of wine, so that was very nice. CON: Side order of asparagus was literally only 4 pieces, which is absurd.
The wine was delicious. The appetizers were amazing.
The staff was amazing and management went above and beyond to make sure I was happy after the kitchen messed part of my order.
Steak was undercooked. Chicken dinner was not prepared according to menu description and previous orders. Service was very slo in resolving the issues. Manager finally appeared after I requested to talk with him— he handled it quite well. We have been to a number of the restaurants and this by far the worst experience— w hVe had excellent experience in the others we have dined at. Our waiter tried his best to resolve the problems but the kitchen was very slow in responding.
My family and I had dinner here. We had reservations, but still had to wait up to 20 min or more for our table. The, we were seated adjacent to some very, very, very loud customers who made the evening totally un-enjoyable for all of us.
Not sure if we will return here and can't recommend it for dinner. Not sure what the lunch hour is like.
Amazing as always. We love Copper’s Hawk and always have the best time here. Tonight was no different. Beyond amazing.
Anniversary Dinner was Amazing!! Thank you CH!
Great dining experience and our server was very helpful!
Another nice dinner. Good food and service.
This is my favorite Cooper's Hawk restaurant. I really enjoyed the food. As a regular, I have tried the majority of the dishes and they are all first rate. Our waiter Michael was attentive and spent just the right amount of time taking care of us. The Sauvginon Blanc was good (July wine of the month).
I think what makes this place my favorite is the way we are greeted by the wait staff and made to feel special. It feels as if they are welcoming us into their house.
We will be back.

We wanted to find a neighborhood place for some wine tasting and a quick bite. CH appeals to a variety of people and ages and is always fun. There is something on the menu for everyone.
The waiters got our wine mixed up. Then my friend told the waitrr she allergic to peanuts oil etc. Him nor the cook looked to pay attention. With her egg roll came 3 sauce she asked & I him no chews sauce. She ate one egg roll. & started feeling funny. We end up in the hospital for 3hrs...
So we will never go again. Yes cooper hawk OFFERED her some gift card's
A very, very enjoyable experience all around. Their servers are a delight!
Our waitress wasn't really friendly.
She took a long time to refresh water, have all condiments and it wasn't busy at all.
It was nice outside
Met my family there for a wine tasting and dinner. Food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the Tuna Ahi which was perfectly seared.
My Girlfriend and myself went here for a recent Saturday evening date. We both enjoyed our meals very much. I got the Churrasco Grilled Steak, she got the Bleu Cheese & Crispy Onion Burger. My steak was cooked to perfection, with the Aioli sauce adding a great addition to both the Parmesan Fries and Steak itself. We also shared the Roasted Vegetable & Goat Cheese Flatbread paired with the recommended (Pin 85) Pinot Noir. This suggestion was perfect! We both mentioned how well the chosen wine complimented the flavors of the flat bread. We will definitely be back!
We ordered 4 turkey burgers 2 of them were yummy the other two were raw :(
After having read about their dress code (no shorts or jeans) and seeing the posted sign outside the door (appropriate attire required) my husband and I were very surprised to see almost everyone in shorts, t-shirts, flip flops or sandals. Also surprised at the number of children, toddlers and babies for a restaurant that is ‘not kid friendly’ according to the website.
It was good, but I’m surprised I’m getting this email bc when I got to the restaurant, I was told I didn’t have a reservation. That was weird, kinda.
My friend was already there and she got us a table.
But I guess there was a reservation after all:)
While the food and service are nice, it’s getting too loud there:(
Wine club members...great to sample at least two wines before ordering
Our server seemed a little annoyed, we ordered apps as we waited for our entire party. Our order was taken but the food was served 20 minutes apart. I asked for a medium rare steak and was well done.
He said he was going to do something about it but never told us what it was.
He also seemed more interested in talking to another table than asking if we needed anything else.
I may go again and in hopes, I get better service.
We took a relative who was in town for a Technology conference, she's from Hawaii.
They should do a better job with the food. Prefab deli chicken in the salad shows that something is missing. Nice interior and the service is good but they need to improve the quality of food
Unfortunately, the same person in our party got the wrong drink order from the bar, the kitchen did not pay attention to her dinner order for no onions and the dessert she wanted was not available. We ordered another dessert for the table that did not come as we requested without the whipped cream. The server wrote down what was requested each time but the kitchen staff or the bartender didn't read the request or understand it. All was corrected each time but it meant substantial lag time for the whole experience.
Our waiter was on point and made our 18th anniversary very enjoyable.
I have been at this location before and the service NEVER disappoints. The service is always really good with good recommendations with wine pairings. I haven't had a bad meal here yet.
That was my 2nd visit and I was a bit disappointed. The staff first tried to seat us in the middle of a large party of at least 20 people even as we passed many empty tables. So we asked to be moved and we walked past more empty tables to the one table that hadn’t been cleaned. Waiter was pretty bad also and the the staff that brings your food keep walking past us trying to give our food the the folks sitting behind us. After all that, food was cold and prime rib sandwich was more fat than actual prime rib. Very disappointing.
It was our wedding anniversary. We had never been to Cooper’s Hawk but had heard great things. We had a sitter , so it was a rare occasion for it to be just the two of us....so we made the most of it! We started with a tasting of delicious wines in the tasting room. We were there early evening on a Sat, so expected it to be a little loud and wild-but our server was very attentive and took good care of us. Then we headed in for our dinner-where we were greeted with another set of great staff. The entire meal was amazing and somewhere we will definitely be returning!
The only problem was it took awhile for our food to come. They seemed short-handed .
This place is pretty inconsistent. I’ve been here 4x. 2x were great the other 2 not so much.
We had good time.
First time visiting Coopers Hawk and the experience was fabulous. The hostess and server were very welcoming, took their time to explain the menu and service was superb! The food was great and (red wine flight) was delish! I even signed up for the monthly wine of the month club! I’d be back.
Brussels sprouts are a must!
We took my parents here for their birthdays. My Mom and I had a limoncello prosecco. Light and a great way to start a meal. Highly recommend it. we started with the Mexican Shrimp. Excellent. I had the grouper, nicely prepared. Dad had the fish and chips and he loved it. The rest had the scallops and shrimp risotto. Large portions and good for the money. They brought my parents a special dessert with candles. Very nice. I had the limoncello cheesecake. Outstanding.
This particular visit wasn't very good. Normally service, food and atmosphere are all top notch, but perhaps they were a little overwhelmed with Father's Day. I was seated and waited approx. 10-12 mins before I received water, a menu or silverware. The host noticed, I suppose, and brought me a menu. After another 8-10 minutes my server came to my table. She was very pleasant, but my order was incorrect (the restaurant compensated me for this, which was VERY nice, but of course extended my evening and wait for my meal). Finally, I was seated next to some very rambunctious children and the parent(s) just allowed them to run about. I'm not sure if Cooper's Hawk could be more mindful of that in the future, in terms of seating families near each other as opposed to near guests that are just there for a nice meal and vice versa or just simply asking that their children stay seated. I know this is a very complicated/touchy issue because everyone has a right to dine wherever they like, but it did effect my dining experience in a negative fashion in addition to the other items mentioned.
Excellent Father’s Day dinner. Food was solid as always, excellent service from Christina who took great care of us. The restaurant was very busy when we sat down and as a result the pace of the meal was quite relaxed.
Probably not a place to dine if you’re in a rush and it’s busy, but if you’re willing to be patient the food is consistently delicious and obviously the wine is great too.
Our waitress Candace was excellent and the food was just as phenomenal. First time there and will definitely be back
I took my husband to Coopers Hawk for Fathers Day. It was his first time visiting Coopers Hawk . Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the wine samples, the soup, and the entrees. Our waiter was excellent in serving, explaining what the restaurant was all about, and checking on us periodically. My husband wants to go back soon.
The food wasn’t as good as the Cooper’s hawk in burr ridge the soup and bread was luke warm and the crab was fried to hard
