We went here for a birthday and it was pretty spectacular. The drinks and the small plates were delicious and the waitstaff was knowledgeable without being pretentious. When we return (which we will), I think we'll stick to just the small plates. We ordered the pork tenderloin to share and it was...okay. It was a bit on the salty side. Maybe after so many delicious small bites, it was more of a let down that if we had only had the pork, but it was a bummer of a way to end an otherwise perfect meal.
I had an amazing birthday dinner at C&S! The staff was welcoming and accommodating to my party of 11. The food was good and I only don't say great because I personally don't like a lot of sauces over my food. And I found a lot of the small bites were swimming in sauce. But over all the food was enjoyable along with an outstanding cocktail menu. I can't wait to go back soon!
Everything was great until t got really crowded where service suffered, but as to expect at any restaurant!
We had a great time at Cooks & Soldiers. Our server Jack made the experience everything we expected and more. We will definitely come back again and again.
The service and food was wonderful
Yet another great meal at Cooks & Soldiers! We were seated about 10 minutes after our arrival, and that is my only complaint. There is not a lot of room to wait up front without getting in the way of people coming and going and servers with trays of food, and we always have to wait for a seat, even with a reservation. Other than that the evening was excellent. The manager stopped by with 2 complimentary glasses of Cava to toast with and to thank us for returning, and I thought that was a very nice touch! Our server was excellent and she made some great recommendations for ciders to try. The Iberico ham was a nice start to the meal, and we ordered a series of small plates and toasts that were all delicious. The sommelier stopped by to explain our cider selection, and the manager came by again to make sure everything was great with our evening. Cooks and Soldiers consistently has great service and delicious food, and that is why the restaurant is one of our favorites in the city!
We always love C&S and no exception this time. We had a couple of disappointments - learning that Nicholas has left and that the duck confit tapa is no longer offered. However, this was compensated by the fact that we met the new manager, Marissa, who was very pleasant and welcoming. Also we were forced to try other items on the menu and they did not disappoint. The small plates are always exciting and wonderful - the goat cheese appetizer and farro were good choices, and the scallops exceeded those that we had had at Kyma one week prior - very meaty, tasty and cooked just right.
Excellent food in a very vibrant atmosphere! Will go again!
Food was not up to par. The meat dishes consisted mostly of fat (poor/low-quality cuts). However, the cocktails (tried 3) were delicious. I would NOT recommend this restaurant unless JUST for cocktails and potentially only those items off Tradicionales menu (appetizers served on toast, only had one but it was my favorite of all the food). Servers were attentive and polite. Nice decor/ambiance but too loud for comfortable conversational volume.
The food was amazing! I've always been a fan of this restaurant group, and this experience did not disappoint. I'll definitely be back!
The food was amazing. If you like small servings with lots of taste, this is the place for you. Everything is cooked to perfection and the server walks through the menu so you know what to expect. If you like quantity, this place will be extremely expensive for you.
A great place for a special night. The service is attentive without being overwhelming. The food is both creative and delicious. This time it was just the two of us, and we thoroughly enjoyed our day after Valentine's Day date night.
Fantastic food! Best fish we've had in a while! Service was fantastic and helped us navigate the menu, as it had been a while since we have been there. Some of the best cocktails in town!
After a rocky start with our server, the meal settled into the excellent experience we have come to know.
We went to C&S for Valentines day. It was packed but that's to be expected. The place is beautiful with a great vibe. The people that work there are extremely nice and attentive. Our waiter was wonderful! I wished I remembered his name. The food was delicious. Tapas style so order a few. The grilled cheese is a must! Def will be returning.
My latest dining experience at C&S reaffirmed it as my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. Great food, drinks, service and staff.
Understanding that it was valentine’s day, the service was good. However, the food was very mediocre for the billing. Most dishes were one-note, and had an odd sweet aftertaste that wasn’t to my liking. The octopus was weirdly sweet and overdone, while the fois grad toast was not good and overly rich. The fries were exceptional, but were ruined by a “cheese foam” that was ham-handedly applied and caused the dish to be over dressed.
The loudmouth mushroom toast was wonderful, and was unfortunately the first dish served, which left the remaining courses wanting by comparison.
All in all this place is ok, and may over rely on its trendy status while failing to perform on any substantive measure.
Great food. Great Atmosphere.
My significant other had been dying to try this place for quite some time so I booked a reservation for Valentine’s Day, and it did not disappoint. C&S is brilliant. It was by far the best dining experience I’ve had in Atlanta and elsewhere. The food got better with every bite. Definitely going back!
Wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. Great food, great wine, beautiful atmosphere.
Went on 2/13/19 for Valentines Dinner and had a reservation at 8:15pm. At 8:40 we were hungry and decided we would sit at the bar instead. Ordered 4 tapas and they were delivered one at a time over the course of 1 hour and 15 minutes, Cara the mgr recognized this and sent us 2 tapas plates to fix the problems we had and that would have worked except these free tapas were on the bill. Almost got it right.
The service was amazing and the food was excellent. The restaurant has a very cool vibe and we really enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely be returning!
The tapas are great and the service was even better. It is a little pricey but not too bad.
This place is absolutely amazing and their food is practically art. Beautifully plated, unique cuisine that tastes phenomenal. The pace also has a nice ambiance, its fancy but still relaxed.
P.S. - Its small plates so you're gonna need 3 or 4 to get full
Wait staff is amazing and food was on point.
Celebrating husband’s birthday
Service was really disappointing- the food took 42 minutes to come out after ordering. The food was okay nothing memorable or outstanding. The smashed potatoes and donuts were the only items I’d order again. The table was not cleared we had empty dishes surrounding us forever, which was tough bc of the size of the entrees serving plates. Eventually I had to ask the server we had to please have “ the table cleared “. He left my salad bowl and bread plate after he returned to take away dishes. I asked for dessert menus and to please have check ready when dessert was served. Nope, I was still waiting for the check another 15 minutes. Our meal took 3 hours on a Monday night. Reservation at 6:30 and we were leaving at 9:25.
Pro: The shareable entrees starting at 40.00 and up are very sizable so the value / price was very fairly priced.
Special advance request ignored- I asked in the open table reservation advance notes to be seated at a spacious table (bc my business guest was a tall 6’4” tv personality/celebrity). We were seated at a small 4 top table beside a table of 16 people. We asked to move and luckily they moved us to a spacious table but beside a busing area that was high traffic. On top of service, it was disappointing that showing up with a VIP that was extra y’all, wasn’t a request the restaurant could fulfill on a Monday night at 6:30 pm.
It was definitely my last time for C & S. I’ll go across the street next time where service is always impeccable.
It was Super Bowl evening and the guests were small in number at our booking. I’m sure service was ready to go home but they were gracious welcoming and warm. The food and service were excellent.
We were seated within just a few minutes of arriving for our reservation at 8:30p. The food was delicious and the service absolutely impeccable. It was a crowded Saturday night before Super Bowl Sunday, which is why I’m even more impressed! Will definitely be back on a less crowded evening.
Great atmosphere bad service
Service was amazing. Annie was incredible - she walked us through the menu, what to order , etc. Ambiance was perfect , food fantastic!
Awesome experience and the food was great. Just note it can get noisy because C/S is well laid out to accommodate large groups.
I will be making a return visit.
Food was good but server forgot a dish and had to ring it in later. Nice atmosphere but were sat in a corner table next to a business group who were pretty loud. Good experience but for the price, probably go elsewhere
Service was not good and food mediocre. The only notable item was the tuna, everything else we ordered was only so-so. Our server did not come by to check on us after our food was delivered.
Very good food, very tasty! A little on pricey side, but overall very good food and service.
Great Service as well. Waiter greeted me and said "welcome back". I appreciate his research. I also said just bring us food and we have an hour and half before we need to leave for the Symphony Concert. All was delicious! thank you!!
Best whole fish in Atlanta. Can get one large enough for 4 people or just yourself. Very good Spanish ham. Numerous tapas that approach what there is in Spain (nobody anywhere in the world can have exactly the same experience as Spain, but this place gets close and they are good). Has steak and other dishes and the chefs seem to know what they are doing. Nice place with great bar and impeccable service.
My fiancé and I often come to Cooks and Soldiers for dinner. The quality of food and drink is top notch. The servers are extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
On this particular visit, there appeared to be a large party that was slowing down the preparation of certain items. Our waiter was able to recommend other items we might enjoy while we waited. The recommendation was such a hit that the delay wound up as a total non-issue.
Looking forward to our next visit.
