Cook Tavern & Pizzeria
Greatest place in St Helena to watch a Warriors game. Burgers and fries cannot be beat, great local and regional beers on tap, the wait staff is attentive and excellent, and the crowd always gets into the game.
Definitely a lively place. NBA playoffs going on. Pizza was awesome. Loved the crust. Had these big bubbles at the edges that I just love. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. The menu was very creative with lots of specials. I would definitely return.
Excellent service and the food was delicious. Accommodated a group of 11. Nice ambiance a plus.
Great local spot for a casual dinner. Great pizza and solid beer/wine list.
Our server Kim was outstanding! She verbalized the specials, and offered suggestions when we weren't sure what to order. She was attentive without being overly so. The food was tasty -- one pizza tasted somewhat dry, as it lacked any sauce, and perhaps would have benefitted from a bit more salt in the dough, but we still wolfed it down.
REALLY nice of Cook Tavern & Pizzeria to donate 10 percent of their proceeds to St. Helena public schools!
Great local place to go to in St helena
Lots to choose from and pizzas nice and crispy thin
Great pizzas. We ordered The margherita and the prosciutto arugula. Service was top notch. We will definitely come back when we’re in town.
The service was incedibly slow, food too expensive for the fair served, and we received what seemed like half a glass of Pinot (when we ordered a full glass) for $14 each! I get it’s napa pricing, but would never recommend to anyone.
Poor service. After waiting 15 min just to be brought water once seated, primary waiter was rude/absent. As a bonus, he delivered the wrong dessert then gave attitude when asked kindly to correct. Returned with brownie dessert to-go and the brownie had a pungent burned aroma and was a brick/inedible...seemed to be intentional as assumed we wouldn’t check. We paid and left as not worth our time to address a second time.
Left a “market” tip only to reward the bus boy who was highly attentive refilling our waters and grabbing a condiment when waiter only checked on us three times to take our order, bring our pizza, and bring us dessert with the check.
Good food good people
Service was great. there was a mistake made in the kitchen, and when brought to the attention of the waitress she immediately corrected it and apologized on behalf of the restaurant.
Beautiful setting, but food is consistently disappointing. Third time dining here and each time disappointing.
Great casual restaurant in St Helena. Deep selection of beer on tap and wines by the glass - something for everyone
We enjoyed the fried pickles, pizza with prosciutto and arugula, Rueben (which was outstanding) and a salad.
Would highly recommend and would return
Great pizza and a wonderful bartender made for a delightful casual dining experience!
This was our second time dining here and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting St. Helena. The menu isn't huge, but everything we've tried has been delicious. I recommend the Irish Fries and any of the pizzas. The service was also spot on!
Always great service. Food was great thank you.
Waited 15 minutes to get water, then ignored for another 15. Ended up leaving. They are understaffed and undertrained how to treat customers.
Food was very good, however service was very slow, had to ask for water refills when glasses were empty. No one asked if I wanted 2nd glass of wine. Lost revenue for them, as I would have ordered more wine if the server was around. Disappointing.
My fave table, best fries in the world! Burger was great
Too! Always friendly service. What more can you ask for?!
Pizza and soup was incredible. Amazing lunch!!
The short rib nachos were excellent! I come here often for lunch, the menu is not overwhelming and there are daily specials. The price is right too.
The food was really good & service was great!
I wish they had some kid friendly choices. The fish tacos were very spicy. Pizza is very good!!
My wife and I made reservations for Sunday lunch at 1:30. When the menu came we learned that on Sunday brunch is served until 2 PM, so the menu was limited to brunch items. Fortunately the kitchen was able to prepare the item we wanted (fish tacos) early, so that was really appreciated. The brunch menu looked good so I'd recommend Cook Tavern for brunch on Sunday and for lunch/casual dinner any other time of the week.
Nice little pizza place and tavern on the main drag in St Helena. Tavern food had a nice twist. Locals hang out at the bar. Tables are a bit small but service was pleasant and accommodating. We’d come back next time we’re in the north part of Napa.
The Nachos are incredible!
My husband and I were in St Helena. I chose this place because they had fried dill pic
Amazing pizzas and service, the team @ Cook Bistro always does a fantastic taking care of our group whenever we're in. I've been multiple times and plan to go back next time I'm in St Helena!
The food just wasn’t very good. All three meals - cheeseburger, fish tacos and Cuban sandwich were below average. Disappointing as we love their sister restaurant Cook, and were looking for a more casual eatery.
Casual eating with friendly staff. Fresh and well cooked food. A great lunch!
Overall great dining experience! Favorites were warm spinach salad, tater tots, carnitas nachos, cookie ice cream sandwich!!!
Always good food and good service at the tavern. Seats are hard and a little uncomfortable, bench pads would be a nice addition.
On Saturday evening,we took our family,6 of us,for dinner at Cook's Tavern & Pizzeria. One of our party is gluten intolerant and has other food allergies. When she asked the server what was in some of the menu items, her response was I don't know. She didn't want to go talk to the chef herself,so my guest went instead. The CHEF (!!??) had no clue what was in some of the food items that my guest thought she could eat. When asked, for example, how close to wheat/bread the salads were made, his response was: I guess I could make your salad in the storage room....REALLY???? VERY disappointing......
Great food and great staff!
Service was awful. Server completely disconnected. Forgot I ordered soup. Forgot other parts of order as well and had to keep asking us what we ordered. Wine list pretty lame. Soup was fair...not traditional cream of mushrooom soup. fish tacos were ok. Good portion size, a bit over cooked. Tuna wrap was average. Bench seating very uncomfortable. No cushions. Will not return. Cook, the restaurant next door is where we thought we were going. Confusing to make reservations.
Fantastic food and atmosophere for a work dinner with clients! Pizzas were delicious (as always), we also loved the salads and some bar snacks. Excellent atmosphere - we will be back!
This was my first time here. Nice lunch menu, value pricing, many selections. I had the Cubano sandwich, it was very good as were the fries, nice and crispy. Service was good and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely go back.
On vacation and in the mood for a pizza. Place was perfect. Nice pie with great crust and toppings. Had the fried pickles for an appe and were very tasty. Nice wine and craft beer list. Prices very reasonable.
Simply fabulous and original. Not the same old wine country.
