I have been to Coohills a few times and it is consistently good. Their beef is extraordinary but their menu is small and sometimes, I just want more choices. The bar is splendid. They have fabulous house champagne at a good price and a nice wine pairing option. It is not high end French cuisine but for a more country French craving, it is a great spot. The location is perfect for outdoor dining or just having a drink and snacks on the deck. Parking is close by and their staff is fun and personable.
Delicious food. Fun menu. Excellent service. Great atmosphere
We had an outstanding time at Coohills restaurant. The ambiance was perfect with ta table right next to a window overlooking the creek and bridge. Pur Waiter Jeremy was fun and knowledgable. The food was excellent. We reccomend trying the escargot and the catch of the day. My date was stunning and enjoyed coohills.
Loved our date night at Coohills! The ambiance is adorable, the service is phenomenal and the food.. my goodness the food is amazing. The sommelier also helped us pick out the perfect bottle of wine to pair with our meal! Would recommend to everyone and can not wait to dine again.
Visiting from Dallas and thoroughly enjoyed. The food, wine and server were all excellent.
Jeremy was our server and was amazing!!!
My wife and I had dinner last here night. I have to say it was one of the best meals we have had dining out in a long time. The chicken dish is excellent and I highly recommend it (even though I'm usually a steak guy). Our server talked me into it - he was very knowledgeable about everything. Skylar is an award winning (really) bar tender at Coohills and I recommend the Aspen drink - sort of a smokey Manhattan. Very unique. Food, location, ambiance, service, everything was great at Coohills!
ps - although we dined inside there is a very large outdoor patio with a nice view.
Was in Denver for a tradeshow and Tom Coohill was a high school friend; so the decision where to eat was easy. And how glad I did. From the time we arrived, the atmosphere, view and ambiance was all exceptional. Tom came by and said HI and was a gracious host while we were there as was the rest of his staff.
The Crab Cakes were as advertised and my friend said his steak was delicious. (He remarked he was cutting with a butter knife it was so tender). After a wonderful dinner we enjoyed Beats on Tuesday (?) with a live band and fun, lively crowd.
All in all, a great night. If you haven't been to Coohills...GO! You can thank me later.
Celebrated a birthday, great service and food.
Go for dessert and drinks and concerts on the Creek...but the food was too salty and inconsistent.
Been there several times, when in Denver, very close to Pepsi Center, had a great dinner with friends before the Michael Buble concert, Thank you! ML...
Menu offering unique, tasty and portioned well. We loved our dinner.
It took 45 min after ordering to even receive a cheese plate we ordered, and that was after asking the server and the manager to speed things up. The check was dropped at our table BEFORE our food arrived. And a bread plate was brought after our food?? We were late for a show because ordering 3 appetizers turned into a 90 min ordeal.
Coohills is a great place to go before a concert. Love the cheeseboard and charcuterie board and the delicious wine options. And the ambiance is great! Slow and spotty service this time around, but we will be back.
We came here before the Hugh Jackman show at the Pepsi Center. The appetizers and drinks were very prompt and delicious! However, we waited almost an hour for the main meals to come to our table. The food was good but I would not come here if I had time constraints in the future.
Coohills is a good, convenient place for a pre-dinner Pepsi Center show. The restaurant is pleasant and the service is friendly. On the negative side, the serving processes are not particularly efficient. Plates arrive at different times and one our dishes had to be returned as the food was cold and had obviously been waiting for some time (dish was promptly and fully replaced). One of our guests tried the Pork Loin which she described as fatty and tasting of vinegar. So...Coohills advertises itself as high-end, fine-dining establishment (with prices to match), but the service and quality of food doesn't quite meet high enough standards unfortunately. Nevertheless I'm sure we'll return as we like the location and ambience. We'd also recommend to a friend but with certain caveats.
We ate at Coohills before a concert at the Pepsi center. We arrived at 5pm and let our waiter know we were going to the 7pm show. We place our order right away but food did not come out until 6:10. At that point we ordered another glass of wine and asked for our check. The wine didn’t come for 25 mins and we had to hunt our waiter down to the the bill and then hunt him down again to run our cards. We rushed out at 6:50 to barely make our show. Food was good, but will not return because of the service. If you know your restaurant is going to be packed because of a show at the Pepsi center, you need to plan wait staff accordingly.
Great place to go before a concert!
Andrea Bocelli night, special occasion and restaurant certainly blew it. Took an hour to get our food, at which point we had 10 min to eat and run. At no point did server apologize or suggest we order something they could actually deliver. Other patrons left as they never received their food. Such poor organization, service, planning; certainly expected more. Steaks were good, pork dry and tasteless, salmon dry. Overall a very u pleasant experience!
The fettuccine is amazing! I can’t say enough good things about this dish!
Our experience started off fabulous. Our server was amazing food was great cocktails and appies were great, everything was awesome. Then everything went downhill, our server took our desert orders, she left and then we didn’t see her for 30 minutes. Our coffees never came desserts never came we waited longer for coffee and dessert than we did our appies and entrees, it’s a little disappointing.
Terrible service. The wait staff seemed overworked / understaffed. Waitress was very short in her interactions and inattentive throughout our meal.
Our party of 3 was seated promptly based on our OpenTable reservation, then accused 10 minutes later of sitting at the wrong table. As though we had some thing to do with their seating of us.
The waitress left the table unattended for 20+ minutes multiple times, and would pass the table while intentionally not making eye contact when we tried to make an order or ask a question.
When we finally did get our order in (after flagging down the water service guy to get out waitress for us), she missed two of the four things we ordered- our main courses.
Food was brought out by the kitchen staff quickly (appx 10 min) but the order was missing the two main dishes.
We were once again unable to get our waitress' attention to address this problem, but at this point (after over 70 minutes at the restaurant) we had to depart for the concert we were attending, so we never actually got to have our main dishes- only our soup and flatbread.
Terrible way to spend a birthday dinner.
Terrible service. Overpriced for glorified dog food.
We went for dinner before the JLo show in Pepsi center.
Great food and service!
Great service. Delicious food. Will definitely be back again.
Menu is thoughtful. Quality and presentation excellent. Jeremy the sommelier is great.
It was a delicious meal and it was a very creative menu!
The food was delicious but there was a long line for the Mother’s Day buffet.
Underwhelming. At best. Went for Mother’s Day brunch. Everything was a little disappointing. Food wasn’t bad but everything was cold. Service was slow and detached even though it wasn’t particularly busy. At one point we returned to our table to find a pile of dirty napkins dropped in the middle of the table - none of them ours and all of them covered in mousse. Maybe the regular service and menu is better but we won’t be back to see. At $60 a head there are literally dozens of better options in Denver.
This was a Mother’s Day brunch. It was all good, but I seem to recall that the pricing was different when I booked. I thought the pricing was $12 per child and $48 per adult. It was $20 per child and $58 per adult. I could not find the original content I saw but price was something I also evaluated when looking. It’s always possible I misread, but if they did in fact change the pricing at some point I wish I could have known.
My husband and I sid the 7 courses with wine pairings for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious, the service was above and beyond, and we’ll definitely be back.
Food was good. I really enjoyed the snails and the Colorado blue cheese. The timing of the service was off. We received our cheese before our wine and bread. Then we received our salad just 1 minute before the snails and our entree. Therefore we had to scarf down our salad and our snails and fish were still cold. Ordered another drink that did not come until we were done eating. We could not enjoy our food the way that we should have been able due to the timing.
Great food, and great ambiance. Great before Pepsi center events!
You MUST have the smoked Manhattan, very good and fun to watch them serve it. The food was very very good, in fact it was out of this world delicious. The crab cake has massive chunks of crab meat and the pork ribs were outstanding. We loved everything about this place.
My guests food was good but mine was marginal. Waited over 50 minutes for our meal and the restaurant wasn’t jammed. Had to ask for drink order three times.
I brought my friends in for a seven course vegan wine pairing and it was fantastic! We sat at the chef's table, interacted with Tom.Coohill regarding his dishes and our server was amazing. He selected all the wines himself and his knowledge was fabulous. The food, experience and service were top notch.
I have eaten at Coohills a couple times now and each time my entree has been very good. Last night mine tasted delicious. The portion was slightly small, but adequate for me as I have a small appetite. However, each time I have eaten there someone else in my party has a ridiculously small portion. When my husband’s meal arrived last night we both looked at it and thought “That’s it??” He ate his meal in about 5 bites and was still very hungry, so I gave him half of my meal. Each of our entrees was about $30, so with tax and tip we spent well above $70 and we were both slightly hungry when we left the restaurant.
Another odd thing is that half an hour after we ordered, the waiter came to ask if my husband would perhaps like to try the bass instead of the salmon that he had ordered as it just arrived and is rare on the menu. He made it sound like a special and delicious upgrade from the salmon. My husband agreed to try it, though we were worried about waiting another half an hour for our food. Only seconds later our food arrived—including the tiny portion of bass. So it appears they made the wrong food and then tried to convince my husband to change his order. We would rather have had them own up to their mistake and either offer the substitution or wait for the original order to be prepared.
I would like to like this place as it is convenient for dining prior to Nuggets games, the ambiance is nice and the staff is very courteous. However, it is too expensive for what you get, so it is unlikely that we will go back.
We first tried Coohills several years ago and thought it would be nice to try again before the hockey game. Everything was fine, the server was good, the food was good, but not what I had hoped for on our anniversary.
We came there for my friends birthday to get our favorite thing the crabcakes. When I told the waiter they were chewy and not as good as normal he didn’t offer to take them back and get something else. We thought at least he would take them off the bill, but did not. Also, as It was my friends birthday, she wanted to order dessert, as the waiter encouraged her to do so and brought her a lovely dessert with candles and happy birthday chocolate writing on the plate. We were super surprised later with the bill that we were charged for it, especially after the crabcake complaint.
We had the five-course tasting menu with accompanying wines and it was excellent. A wonderful variety of dishes and the wines fit each course perfectly. Service was fantastic: all of our needs were anticipated, each dish and wine well presented and well explained, non-intrusive.
