Its tough to compete in Seattle for food and it was not exceptional but it wasnt bad either. its actually perfect for a biz meeting which is what i was there for. expensive but ok to write off for expenses ;)
The chef at the end of the line made our experience absolutely amazing. The night started a little slow but picked up and was one of the best evenings out in a very long time. Thank you very much. We will be back !!
Wow! The team at Conversation was incredibly accommodating as my party swelled from a celebration for 6 people to 22 people! The staff could not have been more gracious, friendly, or hard-working. They conducted themselves like true hospitality professionals, making my friends and colleagues and me feel special. The delicious creative food and comfortable sophisticated decor matched the grace and expertise of the staff. And the desserts! The "forest floor" chocolate cake with ice cream and candied walnuts was beautifully presented as a deconstructed tableau of a wooded landscape, the "London fog" dessert involved Earl Grey and cotton candy in a smoky swirl, and the ginger cake had a streusel-like topping that was simply exquisite. Thank you, Team Conversation, for making my one-month-early birthday party an unforgettable experience!
We needed a convenient place to rendezvous for breakfast with some family while we were in town. The service was great, food was limited-and-adequate and while the building is slick, it feels a little sterile.
Good value for the food. Definitely going to come back.
Food was just OK, wouldn’t go again. Overuse of various herbs and blasé flavor profiles. Drinks were good.
Maybe. The food was good and our waiter excellent. Host was non-committal to the point of being completely disinterested in my arrival. Informed him I had a reservation and was waiting for a friend to join me. For some reason he did not acknowledge to Open Table that I had, indeed, honored my reservation. Maybe because I (elderly woman) was a complete cipher to him? Would only recommend this restaurant with caveat of above,
Headed to Conversation for Seattle Restaurant week. This program is 3 courses for $35 which varies in the level of deal you receive depending on the restaurant.
When we arrived I wondered why there were so few people in the restaurant...Service was good, although a little uneven. We were attended by several people for different parts of the meal which made it hard to know which to request additional items from.
The food was very good. Hummus appetizer--very good and generous serving. Halibut entree, outstanding. Chicken entree, very good. Both desserts were unique and very good.
Then came the check--surprise, surprise, surprise! We were gifted with a 20% service charge! (Maybe now the lack of dining patrons is explained?)
If this charge was noted on the menu, it was not obvious.
With so many other good options in Seattle we won't be back.
Meh. There's not a single thing this restaurant excels at. The food is meh, the service meh, the ambience meh. It aspires to "average" and, on a good day, achieves it.
They did not honor our reservations and we waited 15 minutes. They took 20 minutes to take our order and then another 40 minutes to get it to us. We waited another 10 minutes to get our check. We paid a 20% mandatory undisclosed service charge for this privilege.
Then they marked us as a no show in OpenTable.
We waited over an hour for food after being seated 15 min late, were rushing to eat to get to my friend’s bridal dress appointment, and had to get up and find a manager to have the server check on us (never refilled our water). To top it off, they overcharged us almost $100. I think the service may have been understaffed, but for the prices you’re paying and the ambiance you’re expecting, this seems unacceptable.
We had a great time - good food, creative menu, service was impeccable. I think the cocktail menu is a bit complex but the drink was very good.
Very nice place. Food menu is limited, but everything was very well prepared and tasty. Eclectic food. Bar was Slow, but drinks were good. Recommend. Valet parking is a great addition. Pricey!
Impeccable service, delicious food and drink. A delightful experience with friends! We will be back!
Excellent service and food. Wow! Staff here are so engaging with each other and guests. I will most definitely come here again! I love this place!
The cauliflower soup was one of the best soups I've ever eaten!
This is a fun & great place to hang out for a great conversation with people/friends. There’s a live music and the foods and drinks are very well crafted. The services were great. Great evening with great with great people and great conversations.
Awesome experience, great service and delicious food
Coffee pour over was ridiculously overpriced and as a coffee lover was cold and bitter. Valet parked for breakfast so I could be on time. $18? On a Sunday. Yikes. Food was so so. Nothing overly good. It’s breakfast. Hard to screw up. Just not interested in coming back.
Easily accessible, good vibe, excellent service, very good food.
Went to Conversation for lunch for the first time to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We appreciated the champagne we received to help celebrate upon our arrival. We were happily surprised with the kind, attentive, friendly & personable waiter, Paul C. He gave us some great recommendations & the food was amazing! This was a great start to celebrating my husband’s special day!
I so wanted to love this restaurant….. I have to say it did not deliver.
Our server was quiet as a mouse. For a restaurant called conversation, I would think they would be trained in the art of conversation. She was very rushed, not the way I want to dine. It did not lead to a good experience.
The food was OK until we got the rabbit. Completely under seasoned. It was also served with a weird beet gel, that was cold and did not pair well with the rabbit.
I understand they have a new chief starting. I may try it again but not for a while.
The originality is there, but the execution is still wanting. Half the dishes we received were room temperature (when intention was to be hot), but all the food was very delicious! Overpriced for quality of execution. Almost there!
I visited Conversation for Sunday brunch and the overall experience was okay but nothing special. Service was outstanding and my almond milk latte was great! The food was just kind of okay though and way overpriced. I would visit again for coffee and might stop in to try their lunch menu if downtown and don’t want to wait for a table elsewhere but I won’t go out of my way to eat here again.
We had dinner for our Anniversary here. The Food was amazing and really allowed us to relax and chat. After dinner you can head up to the roof of the hotel for a night cap with a stunning view of the city.
We were visiting Seattle and some friends had told us to go to Conversion for brunch.
It was a great choice. Food was great and so was the service. Would recommend to anyone.
Gorgeous restaurant with truly excellent food and service. Very fun atmosphere and well appointed dining room, table and kitchen. There are fun comment cards with conversation starters at the back of each menu and it sparked some lively conversation. This is great for a date, a business meal or anything in between. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Inventive and delicious flavor combinations and unique wine selections. Definitely worth exploring the varied menu choices featuring fresh market finds. Portions are generous and staff is knowledgeable. Colorful serving plates by craft artists.
Had a great experience! Waitress was wonderful and attentive. She recommended 3 or 4 plates to share for us 2. We did 4. The hummus was great, the mushroom appetizer was amazing. The trout was very interesting and good but could use a little lemon imo. The steak with the yogurt was fabulous!! And the treasure box for dessert was great! They also have conversation starter cards that was a fun touch.
The food is fantastic. If there is a private party, it get's VERY loud. Overall a go to place! Get the baked beans and quail <3
Conversation was an interesting restaurant for wondering palates. Every dish had unexpected flavors and was presented in a very artsy way. The London fog desert was full of flavor. 10/10 recommend.
Overall great experience. Our water glass was always kept full(not an easy task). Meals were tasty, unique, and food for the eye.
It ain’t cheap, but it’s literally the best food I’ve ever had in my life—every dish. They could do more with the whole conversation thing too, but who cares. Delicious food and friendly service.
Fantastic everything. Veggies, meats, fish, beverages and dessert. Arguably one of Seattle’s best!
The trout was excellent unfortunately the pastry chef was on vacation so some items were not available. The hummus and beets came in deep bowls that made it hard to share without serving utensils
Food was pretty terrible and quite expensive... oysters were nauseating bc there were dipping dots in them.
Excellent! Our waitress, Julia was fantastic and she makes an excellent latte!
Conversation has a beautiful modern space exemplified by the soaring ceilings and windows facing the Seattle waterfront. A fireplace in the corner gives warmth to the contemporary interior. The staff were very pleasant and had great suggestions. The plating and presentation of the dishes is impeccable-- we were especially wowed by the desserts such as the London Fog. The only downside is the "good" food service rating on the door which is one of the lowest possible which is definitely a concern.
Rooftop bar has great views of the wheel and the water. The Restaurant had a different take on food that was clever & delicious. The ambience is modern, rich, and dark. The food is a bit pricey. Service was great
