French Onion Soup Dumplings
baked with gruyère cheese
Lobster Mac n' Cheese
orzo pasta, gruyère & fontina
bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, sriracha ketchup
Pleasant surprise. The atmosphere, the food, the bad apple, it was all good.
We sat in the swing chairs which was "cute" for us, but if you're shorter then 5' then forget about it. You will spend your entire time figuring out how to balance the chair and eat at the same time.
Overall a good time cant wait to go back
Fantastic meal, energetic ambiance, attentive service. Each plate was somehow better than the last!
The food was over salted and disappointing. This is the second time I’ve been there since the pandemic. The first time it was equally disappointing but since it was one of my favorite, “ go to” restaurants pre- pandemic, I figured that it was just a fluke. Not so.
The lobster Mac and cheese was too salty to enjoy and the chicken tiki masala equally salty. The saving grace was the rice.
My husband and I won’t be back.
We've been at the Continental many times, but because of Covid have not been back since 2019. Our favorites were still awesome. The Calamari Salad is always our starter and we tried for the first time the Leaf steak which with a penut/plim sauce as well which we equally enjoyed. We are not foodies, but we always have great meal.
great food! atmosphere was everything! waitress forgot about us for a bit, but was very attentive when we asked for things.
What a great atmosphere and a great selection of food. We ordered a variety of items and shared everything. It was a wonderful dinner.
Service was polite and efficient. Food was excellent. Price value was very good.
Brunch before theater
it was OK food ok over all loud.
just busy not relaxing
Very loud, but love the the window seating. Food and service were good. Menu was a bit limited. I would still recommend it,
Loved the rooftop dining. Just what we wanted !
The service was great and the food was amazing. Next time we are in Philly we will be back.
Drinks were average. Some were not good. Ordered salmon for an entree that came over cooked. But the appetizers were decent. The service in the patio was extremely poor until we switched tables. I overall was not impressed, but the staff were very friendly.
We sat up on the roof top it was lovely
The food is always so great. The menu changes and they always add something new. The portions are big and you will love it.
Food was good as always. Our waitress was good, but it appeared she was waiting on evey table on the 1st floor. It took a long time for refills and the bill
Food was great! A variety of options for brunch.
Pork Tacos (starters) French Onion Dumplings were excellent! Strip steak, Killer Shrimp and chicken tika masala were outstanding! Our server, Jenner, was so thoughtful, down to earth and funny.
everyone’s food was amazing i only wish i reserved indoor seating instead of outdoor like one of my guest asked oh well that was my bad. it was cold out but they have cute cubes to try to make it as warm as possible. and bonus was good came out right away thanks!
Food, To, timing and service were great. Mark was outstanding as our server. Knowledgeable and attentive. Will be back for brunch.
Everything was amazing! I loved the swinging chairs !
Onion soup dumplings over-cooked, almost burned. Service slow but friendly. A long way from what used to be an interesting restaurant pre-covid. Not much chance we'll be back.
Best cheesesteak egg rolls ever.
Overall the menu could use more vegetarian options. And the drinks are super small but overall a good time.
it’s overpriced but solid food. drinks are crazy expensive
Eclectic menu and great drinks. This was my second time dining here. The menu is so eclectic but everything was amazing. The French onion soup dumplings...outstanding. a great place for dinner.
The food at Continental was delicious. Our wauteess was very attentive. Definitely a winner to go to brunch!!!
Do not go to the Continental for Sunday brunch. The Monte Cristina was terrible
Decent food, but the service was soooo slow. I loved the Hollandaise sauce in the eggs Benedict. Good cocktails too!!
Haven’t been to Continental Midtown in a while. It’s not the same anymore: run-down furniture, average food and drinks, not much of an ambience.
The service was one bright spot though. We told the maître d' we were pressed by time and got seated and served promptly.
It’s was very delicious. The tables and the swings in the upstairs level were very unique. Food was great and wasn’t too crowded. Great for brunch.
I had never eaten at this restaurant before. Ease of getting reservations through Open Table was very good. First impression of the space was, "This is very cool." Then, it took forever to get our food. I ordered a glass of Prosecco, 20 minutes later, cancelled it when it never arrived. We were there for Brunch, and it took another 30 minutes for main course to arrive. The server was not attentive during the wait time. So, overall, a disappointment. I know the situation with help is not good at this time for most employers. I would be willing to try again, but wouldn't recommend to anyone else just yet.
We ordered drinks, a sandwich and a salad. We did not get silverware or sharing plates until we asked repeatedly My husbands sandwich came. My salad came 20 minutes later. Waiter explained that the kitchen staff simply forgot my order
Overall good place with a good vibe. Food is good - nothing inspirational just good food and that's ok. Our servicer was great. The door people can use some personality but whatever.
Fun birthday dinner
Great experience at the continental. Our waiter was extremely friendly and the food was delicious as always. The cocktails were also so so good.
One of the best places where we've eaten in a long time, and we've eaten at a lot of great places lately. Menu has something for everyone with some classics (burgers, etc.) and newer fusion items for those who want to be more daring or can't decide. Everything we had was 100% delicious and high quality/fresh. Top of the class for burgers, boneless Korean BBQ and starters (crispy Brussels sprouts and one of the most original and tasty bites: French Onion Soup dumplings). To top it all off, amazing Cracker Jax sundae with popcorn flavored ice cream; homemade caramel and caramel covered popcorn! Jenna, our server, was delightful. Very friendly, pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu; courteously recommending her faves, getting bartender to make up her favorite virgin cocktail for under-21 member of our party and even offering my daughter hair styling tips! We will certainly return to try more of what we missed and what we consider "new classics." Thanks, Jenna & Continental Midtown!
Brunch was great - the chalets were not heated yet but pretty comfortable - the food was a good value and the service was great.
