We probably wouldn't venture to Noe Valley just for a meal at Contigo, but we're happy this lively spot exists in an otherwise tame area.

About Contigo

Contigo is a Spanish and Catalan tapas restaurant in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. Our menu features rustic dishes inspired by the vivid flavors of Barcelona. In addition, we offer artisanal Spanish and American hams and a daily Catalan coca (flatbread) from our wood burning oven. We cook everything from scratch using the products of our local, organic, and humane farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and artisans.

We had a dinner for our friend's birthday at Contigo. We loved the food, it was great quality. Service was good as well, they even brought a candle on our friend's dessert, which was nice. I would definitely come back again.

I'm so happy Contigo is in my neighborhood. They change their menu monthly and there is always many good items on the menu that keeps me going back. Their servers are the friendliest ever!

We had two tapas, an appetizer, and two entrees for our meal. The meatball appetizer was great, made with beef, lamb, and something else, maybe ham. Everything we ate was tasty and beautifully presented. Our excellent waiter was Javier, who was born in Barcelona. He still speaks in a strong Spanish accent. We had five glasses of wine. The bill was about $100.

We did the tasting menu. 7 dishes between the starters and mains. Grilled calamari was yummy. Came out in a nice way so we always had something to eat throughout.

Contigo is a wonderful tapas restaurant. We went on paella Tuesday. The paella was great. We also shared jamon croquetas, pear and cheese salad, and albondigas. Everything was delicious. We have been here many times before and will continue to go there.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in SF. The food is just outstanding. Catalan cuisine that retains its authenticity while still taking advantage of all the Bay Area has to offer.

The ambiance is warm, from the lighting to the light wooden tables. Service is super friendly. Add to that the absolutely delicious seasonal ingredients and great flavors, and you can't go wrong. The shared plates style was great because I wanted everything. My mom who was visiting from out of town loved her first time here and my husband and I enjoyed yet another dinner at this lovely establishment. We'll be back!

Our servers were very nice, and the ambiance is great. This restaurant used to be fantastic. We were disappointed that the food really isn't up to the amazing standard it used to be, especially relative to the prices.

Contigo is a local restaurant for me and definitely a favorite. Excellent food - always some surprises. Friendly professional staff, warm greeting on entry, knowledgeable on wine pairing.
The noise level is high and tables close together, but that seems to be forgotten after the meal starts.
The chef's tapas tasting menu is a great way to experience all their best signature dishes.

Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. Had a cool vibe to it. Great food and wine. From the moment we walked in the door, they were very friendly and welcoming, not over the top though, which to me, is perfect.
I would recommend this restaurant.

Compared to other tapas/Spanish restaurants in the same class, I would rate this restaurant as fair. The food was good but nothing special. We really liked the patapas bravas but it's presented as a side dish rather than tapas. The outdoor patio was very charming. The service was good.

We arrived at the restaurant and had to wait 30 minutes for our table. The service was sub par at best We ordered a number of tapas to share and must admit these were the smallest tapas portions I have seen in my very broad eating experience in tapas restaurants. There is no single reason to go back to this overpriced tapas place or to recommend it to anyone

Menu is difficult to read as non-English words are sprinkled. Even sharing dishes are small in portion. Dishes came out slowly one by one, so we couldn't gauge how much more we needed. Paella is Tuesday only? We left hungry. Service and ambience were good.

What a pleasurable meal at summer's end. Contigo is reliably welcoming and delicious. I only wish it didn't become so loud. We dined early, specifically to take advantage of the relative quiet but by the end of the meal we were shouting.

Contigo is a place I discovered when it first opened. I love it and will plan to include it when thinking of great places for dinner. The service is amazing, the food is incredible and the atmosphere is the best ever. It's at the top of my list as one of my favorite restaurants. Everything was delicious. The Pork Shoulder was at the top of the list.

My server, a lovely young woman, was charming and steered me in the right direction for the two sherries I had with my tapas. The food was delicious. Dining solo, I enjoyed the ambiance of Contigo, sitting at the table for two just before going out to the enclosed garden area. The other servers who assisted my server were all engaging, and happy. I had a throughly enjoyable evening of dining at Contigo.

Located just off the beaten path in Noe Valley, the restaurant has an inviting ambiance: lively but quiet enough to talk, pleasant modern decor. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was terrific. Order lots of different things and share---it's all good. As to previous reviews, I feel compelled to mention that the portion is small because these are tapas (small plates). Prices are reasonable for what is offered. I highly recommend this place.

Unfortunately, it was the hottest day in SF. Like most restaurants in the city, there was no AC in Contigo. We were seated outside which on a cooler day would have been perfect. But it was definitely better than seating inside which was probably much hotter. Our waiter(s) were very friendly and attentive. We ate the following: Sardine and avocado toast (yummy), albondigas meatballs (the sauce was tasty), croquette of ham and cheese (good) and the gem salad made with beets (fresh and cool on a hot summer day), manchego cheese was also good, flatbread (like a pizza) was just fair. The sparkling sangria was cooling on a hot day but it was not wow!. The bill for all this was $125 for 3 people. Overall it was a good Tapas meal but I was not bowled over. If I am in the area I may stop by to taste the Paella.
