About
The restaurant was closed when we showed up. The business closed a week ago and we showed up last night for my Wife’s birthday with no heads up that they went out of business.
Why didn’t I get a heads up????
Contigo did not notify me about the private event they were having the night I had booked my dinner reservations. They turned me and my party away because of a personal matter, but the woman I spoke to was not professional at all. I wanted to support their business seeing that I had learned a few days ago they were closing. They should have reached out to me; apparently they “tried” to reach everyone who had reservations. I received zilch on their end. I wasted my time. I’m glad I did not give them my money. I ended up going to an establishment who was indeed worthy of my business.
This is so sad - we had reservations for their closing night but they called to say there was a death in the Contigo family so they weren't doing a farewell service.
This was one of my favorite restaurants. The service was always prompt, polite and efficient. The food was delicious and for what you got I think it was reasonably priced.
No complaints about the place at all, except I wish I could have had that last meal.
I wish them well and hope to get to their new place in Santa Cruz.
Somos contigo Contigo.
Too loud fir meaningful conversation.
Great neighborhood restaurant! Tapas are excellent and reasonably priced. The paella was amazing! They say it’s good for 2-4 people but I could eat the whole pan by myself! But seriously if you’re planning on sharing with 3 other people, get lots of tapas!
Jamon was thin sliced like prosciutto , waiter talked too much, too often, had attitude (as in “we serve Spanish wine here” after I tried to order a Malbec). Interesting dishes with unexpected flavors, I expected dishes to repeat a recent jamon iberico experience from Sevilla and that was not happening
Excellent food. The 7 tapas tasting menu was great. Loved the squid especially. Service was knowledgeable and charming. Seating is a little tight.
The food was good but the ambiance was a problem. The main problem with Contigo was the hard seats which were quite uncomfortable. The noise level was also much higher then I liked. And, we were seated next to the door to the deck and we had a cold breeze over us for most of the dinner. We asked that the door be closed and it was initially closed, but as servers went through the door, they left it open and we had a cold breeze over our table for most of the evening. I do not like cold, noisy uncomfortable restaurants. The only reason we went to Contigo was that we were given a gift certificate. Otherwise, we would not have chosen to go to Contigo.
Loved the food, but super slow service
The service was great, nice, quick and friendly. The food was even better. The plates were delicious and came out as described. I would consider this a find in Noe Valley. It's a lively place with great food.
We love Contigo! It remains our favorite restaurant in SF with its lovely atmosphere and delicious food that makes us feel like we're dining in Barcelona. There's always a warm welcome when we walk in, and we enjoy studying the menu to see what's new and different based on the season. The Coca Flatbread is ALWAYS amazing as are the churros + hot chocolate for dessert. Go to Contigo and see for yourself why this restaurant is such a treasure!
Paella was cold and a little dry
Salad with roasted squash amazing
Service is just the best...the vibe always feels international. Best Spanish restaurant in the city.
The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was a particularly busy Saturday night. Although our table wasn't quite ready when we got there, they made every effort to get us our table quickly -- and offered us a drink while we waited. A lovely, unrushed evening.
Fantastic Spanish food with a dash of Catalan specialities
The quality is always there in ingredients and taste. I love the jamon croquettas. The little gem salad is a gem. Try them all. When squid is back in season don’t miss it.
Always great to stop in for the tapas fix.
We love all the dishes - brings back great memories of our trip through Spain.
Good experience but getting too expensive for a weekly experience.
Excellent and original food, excellent and friendly staff, and atmosphere!
Everything was nice, but nothing was special. I am not sure you can "americanize' spanish food, tapas
etc and pay the high rent of SF. Something didn't connect
We had a choice between a restaurant closer to our neighborhood that offered parking or Contigo, and we opted for Contigo because the food is just that good. We always order the coca, which features lovely combinations of seasonal ingredients (in our case, duck jamon + goat cheese + arugula + grapes). The servers are upbeat and know when to give you space to enjoy dinner and drinks, but are observant and show up in time to refill wine glasses and to clear tables. We never tire of eating here!
contigo has some of the best tapas in the city and I am glad I live within walking distance! service is occasionally a little haphazard but everyone is so very nice and helpful otherwise.
I've now visited this restaurant a couple of times and it has exceeded expectations each time. The food is incredibly delicious. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious as always and our server was so excellent. We had the salmon and lamb chops and patatas bravas and jamon Serrano and little gem salad and churros with chocolate and all were superb.
Staff is very helpful, friendly and efficient. Our group of four gave high marks to the tasting menu.
Everything was delicious!
I love Contigo. Neighborhood staple is lovely Noe Valley.
Service and food were excellent. Can't wait to return. It's one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants in the city.
Fun, delicious small plates, gives you a chance to sample all kinds of tasty bites. Drinks were strong and tasty with fresh ingredients. Everything was wonderful. Glad we had reservations even on a weekday evening.
Contigo is one of the best restaurants in a city filled with great restaurants. Every dish that comes out of the kitchen is solid and tasty, and the experience is consistently wonderful.
Was wonderful. Come every time we are in SF.
The menu is quite limited. The food was okay. We did not have the paella which is a specialty so that might have been more impressive.

Menu change daily but no way to tell from website or yelp. Was told only Tuesday serve sear food, octopus, and paella. Bummer because we went there just for those, saw a couple of people left also because of limited menu.
Contigo is always reliable for wonderful fresh & flavorful food! Fun place for dinner!
Great food and service in a low key, attractive environment.
While the food ranged from quite good (meat balls, sardine) to OK (tripe) to meh (spinach), the real downer was the speed at wish they want to rush you through the meal. No leisurely dining here. One course came on top of another - an assembly line with overlap. If we are going to spend $200 on a nice meal and a nice bottle of wine, then we do not want to rush.
The wine was great though.
I don't think we will go back despite the fact that we love Spanish food.
Our favorite restaurant in SF. Their summer selections are fabulous! Loved the fig salad and the summer corn and mushrooms. Great service as always.
We are lucky to have Contigo as a gem in our neighborhood. We've been numerous times and -- even though we know to expect an excellent meal -- the restaurant nonetheless manages to exceed expectations every time. We had never been there on a Tuesday, and this time were treated to the Tuesday paella special. Simply outstanding!
We hadn’t seen our friends in two years so decided to go for the paella tasting dinner (we were there on a Tuesday) so that we didn’t have to look at the menu’s. We were happy that we did since every single dish that we tasted was delicious. We had three tapas (croquettes, sardines and salad) followed by a seafood paella - time between the dishes was perfect, not rushed, neither a long wait. All food was served family style. Service was courteous, professional and very friendly. It was very busy but we didn’t notice that until we actually left the restaurant. The tables are big with enough space in between them and the noise level was perfect: lively but not noisy. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be back!
Wonderful selection of tapas!
