Great generally but quest was not to my taste, pretty runny even when cooled.
I would recommend Contigo for the food, but not the service. Since I came with a large party, when I made the reservation I asked the hostess on the phone if it was possible to split checks from the get go. She confirmed yes. However, at the end of our meal our waitress told us that this was in face not possible, and gave us quite the attitude when we asked her why. Her manager was extremely accommodating, but our waitress proceeded to exclaim everyone’s totals VERY LOUDLY to the entire restaurant. I have never experienced anything like it in my life, and I waited tables all through high school and college. I wish I could remember the young lady’s name who was the manager, but she was an angel. The young lady who was the waitress should take a deep breath and count to ten if she wants to continue to work in costumer service. We were all willing to work on a solution, except for her. I can’t recall her name, but she was a shorter larger girl, brunette.
Varied menu with lots of delicious dishes. Chocolate mint ice cream was the most amazing mint dessert ever - fantastic! Drinks are tasty and well curated. A full meal can be a bit spendy, but there are lots of options.
The new menu is really disappointing. Everything that made Contigo's food special is gone. It looks like an ordinary, mainstream restaurant now. I dine here a lot but I don't think I'm going back.
a group of families go on Wednesday for Happy hour. They have Kids Happy Hour now- which is an amazing deal! So it’s a fun family atmosphere with lots of kids - around that time.
Amazingly charming setting, delicious and approachable food at great prices. The servers were so friendly....kinda felt like home.
Contigo was cute. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area and the ambiance indoors is great too. The menu was pretty underwhelming though. Boudin balls were way too spicy to the point where you couldn't taste the flavor of them and the loaded queso just tasted like queso so it was hard to pick up any venison taste. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the menu offerings and thought it was pretty limited. Your options are basic bar food (including a $12 baked potato as an entree), one fish option, and one steak frites option. I would recommend this place for drinks or happy hour. If your time is limited in Austin . . . there are other places including food trucks with better options.
Loving the new brunch menu at Contigo. Great update in addition to their dinner service. Was a perfect spot to meet up with friends, service was impeccable as always.
So delicious! We had a large group of people. Some were picky eaters, some were kids, some were adventurous. There was something for everyone, and it was all amazing. The staff is also very friendly.
Great place for friends and family. Kid friendly too but not too loud. Our server was very attentive! Great happy hour
The Happy Hour is a must but then hanging out for dinner is the way to go. The crispy green beans are the best app on the menu! Burger was great and service was on point. The place is awesome and when it isn't so hot the outside seating is perfect.
We had a wonderful meal with fabulous service. The Old Fashion was out of this world.
We have loved coming here for years but were a bit disappointed by the new menu. Timing of salad and main presentations at the same time was also off. Will definitely give them another chance though based on our prior excellent meals. Also loved the remodel with more air conditioned space for the hot summer months.
We usually love Contigo for the relaxed atmosphere and tasty unique flavors but it appears they recently switched their menu to more basic options and the uniqueness and flavors were missing. They still have some of the old reliables but others are gone and what we got that evening was missing that usual Contigo flavor. Hope they go back to their old style and options.
My son picked this restaurant out so it was a first for all of us. It was great, service was great, very fun place!
Per usual, my experience at Contigo was solid. The food was delicious, love the barrel aged old fashioned, and the pie was a perfect dessert for our group. Our friend is moving, so we wanted somewhere that felt very Austin, and Contigo delivered.
The food was excellent once it finally arrived, but it took more than an hour, even with a reservation. We were told over and over again that the food would be just "five more minutes, and we were given excuses instead of an apology for the delay. Pretty irritated with the wait and the service and its reflection on me given that I booked the reservation for my party. At this point I'm not sure I'd return or recommend Contigo to others.
Delicious! Every single thing we ate was outstanding. Cool vibe and great service. Loved it!
We had dinner with another couple and found Contigo to be terrific. The food was a standout. Between us we had the steak and halibut after sharing appetizers of green beans, olives and fried avocado. Desserts stole the show. The carrot cake was accompanied by the most surprisingly delicious celery granita and the blueberry cobbler had the most lovely spice...cardamom? Drinks were also great. I had a pour of Jefferson's Ocean, which was a nice surprise on the bourbon menu. A lovely evening. We will definitely return.
Food was fantastic. good flavors that were well executed. the dishes were "dressy" without becoming pretentious.
Excellent food. Great service. Like the place BUT noise level was above par. Maybe because it was near end of happy hour. We will definitely return
Love this restaurant. We have been going since it opened eight or ten years ago. The food is fresh and creative, the staff friendly and able, the ambiance is relaxed and hip. Would be nice to see a little more variety on the brunch menu.
Love this place! Love how they've invested in the space to make it even better and it has always been great. Well done.
This is the third or fourth time we've been to Contigo. The atmosphere is great and the food is well worth the visit. We were delighted and impressed with each of the food offerings and felt like the meal was spot on. The service however left a lot to be desired. Our waiter, Dustin, didn't seem very interested or warm. We ordered a bottle of wine, but he didn't do wine service. He just poured the glasses not letting our host taste the bottle before pouring. The wine was great, so we wouldn't have sent it back, but it is serving 101 to perform wine service when bottles are ordered. We also ordered the porridge, but weren't provided with spoons. It took a few minutes to get them, another oversight. It left me with an impression that he was doing us a favor by serving us, rather than that he was welcoming us to the restaurant and providing hospitality. I think we'll be back to Contigo, but we'll probably ask to be sat in someone else's section.
Absolutely amazing food
An Austin classic! Causal, authentic and reasonably priced.
Spring in Austin = best time of year to go to Contigo. Outdoor seating, lots of dogs (on leash), good drinks and food.
A great spot for couples, families, foodies. Great cocktails, delicious food, but service was meh. Friendly, though. We've been twice, and will definitely go again!
Our waitress was very helpful and that set the tone for a great experience. Recommendations were great, loved the carrots...this place as my wife says reminds her of the episode of HIMYM, and the best burger....but for their sweet potato ice cream. Glad we found it again (3 years later) and it will be added to our regular rotation of places to eat. Love the outdoor eating space, dogs are welcome and definitely a place we will recommend. Only downside is the parking to patron ratio, might be happy hour related but empty tables and a full parking lot make it a little more like going through a roundabout. I’d recommend getting a valet just for parking, it’s small enough that people can find their cars after.
Another great night out at Contigo. Food service and experience was great!
Contigo did not have my reservation through OpenTable because they no longer use the service.
We had an excellent meal. Three of us shared small plates and an order of the rabbit dumplings. The drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was friendly, and our server was great!
Food was okay, but limited food options. Great patio!
Food was great, drinks were great, but our waiter was horrible. Our guys that were bringing us water and our food were fantastic. I wished I could have only tipped those humans.
I would have liked to have ordered more drinks, but after taking our order for food, our waiter failed to stop by our table again, and generally looked the other way when he walked by the table.
We tried to make ourselves feel better by making up a story that his boyfriend just broke up with him and that is why we saw him on his phone all of the the time. He had to be so distraught that all of his things would be left at the curb at their apartment. I know I would. Although making up his story helped, it was still really frustrating coming to a place with the expectation of having drinks with friends, and getting served drinks one time. In retrospect, I should have just gone up to the bar and ordered our drinks for the table. At least then the bartenders would have been tipped instead of our horrible waiter.
We had a great time. The food was good. There were several vegetarian sides and salads but nothing on the entree menu except a slightly boring grilled cheese sandwich. The staff was very friendly and both my kids and my parents were happy with everything.
One of our favorite places...great food, drinks and atmosphere!
This was the second time eating here, we sat at a community table outside on a beautiful warm June evening. I had a great rabbit stew amazing, farm to table. Service was attentive, we enjoyed our friends and food. A definite "return to" spot when visiting Austin.
Food was good but the service was slow and inattentive at best.
Cool place. All open air. Appetizers and burgers were great. Drinks also hit the spot, and they had a nice $2 drafts happy hour. I'd go again.
Very nice place for brunch tasty food. Rabbit and dumplings, beef tongue hash and good bloody marys..wish the rabbit dish was more plentiful. .small portion especially if you exclude the bisquits
