The Conservatory Restaurant, at the delightful Boxmoor Lodge in Hemel Hempstead, is a friendly, family owned business with an exceptional modern British menu. The light-filled dining room has crisp linens, garden views and fresh flowers, and the service is faultless. The Head Chef at Boxmoor Lodge, Stuart Ambury, oversees a kitchen that prides itself on high-quality GM free ingredients and creative presentation. Our favourite dishes include the Mr Waller’s Aylesbury duck with ginger sauce served with red cabbage spiced with chestnuts and apricots and gratin dauphnoise, and Teriyaki Salmon served with chilli vegetable noodle stir fry and a sweet and sour sauce. The restaurant also has a wonderful wine list, selected by Lilyane Weston.

Excellent service if you like friendly and down to earth but polite. Food cooked fresh so gives a nice break between courses

Normally come to the Boxmoor Lodge just before Christmas with some friends. We had a wonderful meal, both the food and the ambiance was great.

Dined in the Boxmoor Lodge restaurant last night and sadly did not enjoy the experience. Hadn't been there for sometime. Our party was not all that happy with the choices on the menu but the conservatory was full and quite lively. Starters were okay but a little bland, three of us had the king prawns and one the pate. Main course for me was not good and I was not charged for the course and the three others said there mains was again okay but not delicious. We decided to leave.

We went there last night for the valentines special. The service was great, staff were very friendly and willing to help. The food was tasty with really generous portions - we couldn't finish our meal!

Boxmoor Lodge Restaurant, Hemel Hempstead. Lovely and welcoming staff. Enjoyed the food, but little choice for vegetarians (I have to re-iterate it was delicious though).

The decor at the restaurant has change since our last visit it looks really contemporary now. Service excellent as usual, fillet steak was wonderful.

Had Sunday lunch at the Conservatory Restaurant at Boxmoor Lodge. As usual the owner impressed with his relaxed approach. He advised one of cheapest white wines on list (Languedoc Sauvignon) which was a gem, and quality/value continued with the Pinot Gris and Cab Sauvignon. The food - lovely fruit and pork/apple pate starters. The roast generous & imaginatively served though I would have preferred rarer lamb. Deserts were excellent - raspberry creme brulee & lemon torte both winners!

Conservatory Restaurant at Boxmoor Lodge Hotel in Hemel Hempstead, Herts. My husband and I came here for our tenth wedding anniversary. The food was excellent, fresh and the portions generous, we both had the fillet steak which was cooked to our liking. The setting is small and cosy, the staff polite and friendly and we had a lovely evening. We will definitely return to try some of the other dishes.
