place that make you feel spacial such as celebrating 50 th birthday
I always enjoy dining at the Conservatory and was excited to take a friend for their first buffet experience. The staff are welcoming and attentive without “hovering”. My friend, however, needs further training, he went for the deserts way too early, so we shall return for another session.
Meal was good as usual a lot of seafood was frozen and bland oysters very small lobster very average duck was great value for money was fair think twice about going back.
There was a good variety of food however it was very busy, long queues to get food from the buffet and the waiting staff were never around for drinks.
Excellent experience, great for special occasions. Predominantly attracts females
going there not expecting the food the be that great due to being a buffet, i was wrong. every dish i chose was delicious in its on way being from a different cuisine. there was an extensive veriety to choose from too. will be back with a group the share the experience.
i gave the service a 6 because the waiters were dull and not very welcoming besides taylah. taylah was very welcoming, kind, attentive and was the only server assisting us who had a smile on her face throughou the lunch service
Thought it was extremely overpriced for the food that was on offer. Being buffet lobster night the cost was extra and honestly the lobsters were small, in fact lucky to get one bite from them.
Out for a celebration and must admit we were all very disappointed !!
hardly any food choices, waste of moneu
We went to the Conservatory for the Lunchtime Buffet, there was plenty of variety on offer to choose from. On the whoe the food was of good quality, although the Oysters were a little small there were plent of them. The staff were friendly and attentive. The only negative was with our cups of English Breakfast Tea, not sure how they make it but not good. Colour was not right for English Breakfast tea and it tasted as though it had stood for a long time and been reheated.
really wasn't worth the high cost for the buffet dinner.
Just a great experience.
Good food, very enjoyable time. Excellent ambience.
My girlfriends and I love the food. My favorite is the cream of mushroom soup. There was a wide selection to choose from. We regret not to be able to taste the dumplings because we were already full. We will definitely go back. Such a nice experience.
Great food, however after dining i had horrible food poisioning
Our experience were not as great as Melba Langham. Once seated we were not offered water for a start, waiving to get the servers attention. Buffet was not replenish quick enough. Never seen oysters that tiny. Service from some of the servers were unfriendly. We had to get someone attention to pay our bill.
Overall experience bad and never going back or recommend to friends
Best ever buffet style dining. Food selection fantastic, waiting staff wonderful all coupled within elegant surroundings.
The food was nice however found we were lining up in large crowds for 10 minutes just to get food. It took half an hour for our drinks to be bought to the table. We were also told that the booking was for 2 hours but were rushed out after an hour 20 which left us no time to enjoy our meal. For the price you could go elsewhere and get much better food and service!
Great food, great service, friendly staff. Not cheap, but the volume, variety and quantity of food was awesome. Great venue for a 10th Wedding Anniversary dinner!
Swethi was very accommodating to our table. Always asking if we need anything.
We visited for my wife’s birthday and we left full and very happy
Eaten here many times with guests over the years for lunch and dinner and those times were fine, i had two overseas guests for lunch on the 23/10 and staff were wonderful but food was average given the price, local pub standard, my guests ate very little and the experience did not bring forth any gushing compliments, food selection average, cheese platters ran out, dumpling steamers with lids left off and contents gone dry, this was my first time back after 3 years and it did not impress.
Our most favourite place due to the atmosphere, cost structure and of course the great selection of food, that caters to all requirements. The complimentary gestures are a great added touch and well received. The Staff make your stay enjoyable and rewarding.
Of all the restaurant selections that crown have this one suits us perfectly and cates for families with small children as well. Would highly recommend always.
Shared Linch time with overseas guests for Lunch on 21/10/19.
They were very impressed the the decor/food/service/wine/presentation of food/quality of food/professionalism of the wait staff. The cleanliness of the dining area was spot on. Clean glasses/cutlery and plates. Furnishings and table of good quality. Staff uniforms and grooming immaculate.
Very impressive all round. Your staff are amazinsing. Complements to the wonderful and talented chefs.
Have dined here before. Previous experience was ‘ordinary’, however this time was excellent. Excellent service. Food of very high standard with huge variety. As buffets go, food area was kept neat at all times. It is a bit pricy but I suppose it’s all about location.
I love the Conservatory but this visit was disappointing due to where we were seated. We were right next to where they scrapped and cleaned people’s plates (gross) and also next to a large group and particularly a whole table of young kids. I was celebrating my 50th with my 3 teenage daughters and the activity from 10 or so kids probably aged 12 and below was offputting (and they were pretty well behaved but just got restless). Ruined our grown up time out. Also you need to better dress code.
The Conservatory was amazing! It was spectacular and had a very good vibrant feel, the people were friendly and the quality of food served was fresh! However, what I didn't understand is that the time sitting was quite rushed, we arrived for a 6:30pm dinner but it was expected that we were to leave before 8pm. I was also wondering why isn't there any soups of choice, this area could have been explored but otherwise it didn't really bother me. Overall, a positive experience!!!
Food was sensational (only slight exception was a prawn and an oyster that did not taste right). Excellent service. Definitely coming back.
We regularly go to The Conservatory and have always been pleased with the food and service. It was good to note that this time there were a few different foods on offer (e.g. pizza). Great place to look over the Yarra and enjoy good food.
Service was excellent & food was above expectation
We went to Conservatory for my wife's 50th with extended family. It was ideal as it catered to everyone's different tastes. There was a good selection of vegetarian options, kids loved the pizza, calamari, sushi. We enjoyed the curry's, and Asian inspired dishes. We had a table of 9 and they can easily cater for up to 10. There are views over the Yarra River, however it is all inside dining, so not true waterfront. Overall it was a good experience, and we would go again.
Excellent food and service a very enjoyable evening to celebrate a birthday.
Whenever i'm in Melbourne love going to The Conservatory for lunch. Great value for money & a lovely high quality , relaxing experience.
Limited vegetarian options. That too Indian veg food was tasteless. Should have more options for vegetarians too.
There was a good array of food, providing lots of options and was replenished often enough, always looked well presented.
Having a seat near the window with the view was lovely but the tables so close together meant our conversations could be heard and we could hear others so in the end my husband and I had trouble hearing each other speak. I also felt like I was brushing past those next to me and in return being brushed by our neighbours, it was a bit awkward and detracted from the experience
The quality of the food was about average, nice flavors and good selection.
The dessert section was really disappointing, the only enjoyable things were the crepes and chocolate fountain.
The small cakes weren’t enjoyable!
Another weak point is the staff, untrained and without and guidance, structure or section.
While seating 3 different girls asked us if want water or to order drinks.
The waitresses and one manager asking 4 times to take and plate, why 4 times?
$105 for 2 hours, getting rushed!
Great lunch spot for a catch up with friends
Nice location , and lay out. Staff were great
Not impressed with food variation or selection for price honest
We enjoyed the lovely surrounds, brilliant food especially seafood, enormous variety of condiments, sauces etc. desserts were also spectacular. Service also first class
We had a family lunch at the Conservatory and loved the choice of food and the quality was outstanding, the staff were very good also, the only down side was when it was time to pay they would only split the bill in half which was very difficult as there was 8 of us all wanting to pay separately. I would hope they will rethink this policy as it spoilt a very good lunch.
Overall, it was a great experience.
It was incredibly expensive for what it was, but at the same time it was a great selection of food.
