Connie and Ted's
Enjoy one (or two) of 24 California craft beers on tap, while sampling from our large variety of oysters, clams and shellfish, shucked to order, at our Raw Bar. Wind down the day with a classic cocktail at the bar, or enjoy a warm lobster roll outside on the covered, open-air patio overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard.
What Insiders Are Saying
Take Connie and Ted’s for what it is and you will love it: a fun, casual place to grab a cold beer and some oysters with friends. Just don't listen to the hype and expect much more.
Food is consistently good and the drinks are strong.
Sam Baxter., the chef, is spectacular. He made us several special dishes...fabulous. The oysters at connie and Ted's are the very best you can get anywhere. They serve more than any place in LA...they may serve more than all of the other places put together. The quality of Providence runs through Connie and Ted's...fabulous!
Always delicious New England Seafood with courteous and friendly staff!
The service was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and phenomenal. Got to sit at the "raw bar" area and watch the guys shuck the oysters. It was a special occasion dinner, and it was truly memorable.
Last minute decision and was able to get a quick reservation via Open Table. Service, Food, and drink excellent.
Best restaurant I have found in LA. Consistent, fresh friendly and relevant!
We love C and T
We really enjoyed the atmosphere at Connie & Ted's. There was a good vibe, lots of chatter but not overwhelming. I wish I had caught the name of our server because she was very helpful, efficient and friendly. Drinks and food were good, enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine with dinner. Would definitely return!
The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The seafood is always very good to outstanding, the noise level was perfect early Sunday evening (quiet enough to easily talk) though it can veer towards too loud other times, and the bar always has a surprise up its sleeve. All it needs for perfection is the occasional surprise on the menu as well.
Great service and food as always!
Very overpriced for what you get. I had the steak, it was terrible and the quality of apple bees. It was upsetting that I paid $30 for this. Also, the sides were extremely salty and the fried calamari appetizer was soggy, as if it was sitting for awhile. My fiancé has the lobster, he did enjoy that. I would not recommend this restaurant.
C & T is one of my fave locations for clean eating. However, something seemed off this night. Our server seemed to be out of touch. After two prompts to a server and bus person, we waited for almost 15 minutes for our cocktails to be served. The table to our left was a party of four dudes that were acting like they were in a sports bar. Incredibly loud, a bit obnoxious, and completely inappropriate for this environment. I absolutely love going to C & T and will go again. But what a bummer on this night !
Delicious!!! Every single item, including the cocktails!! Truly felt welcome and 'at home' from start to finish. The entire staff looked like they were having a great time as well. I'm coming back as soon as possible.
We always get the steamer clams -- they are amazing -- and the chowder, a clean, non creamy variety that is clammy and wonderful. Tonight we had grilled fishes (Black Cod and Halibut) and they were beautifully prepared, with pickles, green salad a smashed fingerlings as sides.
The service was not a good as before, with our water glasses going unfilled for a long while, but the staff is always friendly and polite and we were seated outside as requested.
Hadn’t been to Connie & Ted’s in probably three years. What I remembered about my experience was the food was great, but felt a tad expensive.
This time I felt the same way, but service was lacking. The hosting station group of people was very nice, as was our waitress she just lacked general knowledge and didn’t seem too intent on the customer service part and seemed overwhelmed, but had lots of time to joke and talk to other servers. I’m vegan and I know C&T is almost exclusively fish, and asking her for what she’s recommend I could eat she said, “CLAM CHOWDER.” I said how can that be? And she was pushing that it was and after checking she said “OH, I THOUGHT YOU SAID GLUTEN FREE!” Big difference and still never offered me recommendations after the mixup.
Older relative I was with was trying to order a beer and didn’t really understand the small brewery concept and as he struggled to name a few beers he knew, she kinda just sat there and finally I had to speak up and said, “He’s only going to know big name brand beer maybe you can recommend something and maybe let him try it!”
Maybe sounds like nitpicking, that kind of service in a pub on a $12 burger is fine. I think all restaurants in this price range should have more knowledgeable and more professional staff.
Really great seafood. You know the joke. Most importantly substainable fisheries I understand. Great chowder. Oysters too!
A great date night
Great place to share a wonderful meal with family or friends.
Always solid service and menu, s great night out
Very slow service this time.
the food was great as always and the service was top notch.i cant wait to go back again
Lobster rolls - the best I’ve had!!!
Cocktails are amazing
Food was good, a little salty and pricey though. I had the fish and chips and was thoroughly enjoying it until I pulled a long hair out of my mouth - the waitress was great about about and deducted that from our bill.
All in all, I would go back
This is not your average fish joint. They only serve really fresh stuff and they cook it with great skill. No farmed fish. There are always fish on the menu that you have rarely, if ever, eaten before but that's OK because you know it will be delicious.
The food here is always solid. So fresh and yummy. Just great! Clean, attentive (if kind harried) staff. Cocktails are great!! Love this place and I’m really picky/ squeamish about seafood but I love this place!!
Everything was underseasoned, except fries which was too salty. Clam chowder was too watery. Tartar sauce was underwhelming. Battered fish from fish and chips was great. Grilled fish of the day (yellowtail) was overcooked and bland.
Very poor service from our waiter. Food was good though.
Never disappoints just a solid classic. Staff is friendly and food is consistent every time.
It just doesn’t get any better… We enjoyed the high standards of quality and service
Liked their take on a “hot dog” but found the chicken sandwich to be overly salty and not something I would want again. I need to remind myself that you go to a fish restaurant for fish and not chicken. Oysters are always a safe bet as are the fries and onion rings.
We had a wonderful lunch at Connie and Ted's last Sunday. The food was delicious and fresh from the oyster appetizers to the fried clams and clam and mussel steamers to the succulent boiled lobsters. The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere comfortable, casual and fun! What a perfect dining experience!
We eat at Connie and Teds every other week for brunch and it was the obvious choice for my wife’s birthday. This is the first time we’ve had a problem. After our raw bar food was served it took 45 minutes for our hot food to be served. Since we had our kids with us we made an early reservation so we could finish dinner before they got too tired. Of course this plan was foiled by the delay in food service. Then it took us another 20 minutes to flag down our server to ask for the check. It made my wife’s birthday a failure, but at least the manager understood the situation and put a credit on the bill. We’ll be back but probably not for dinner.
Food highly overrated. Ordered crab salad which was more of a crab cocktail, served in a cup lined with lettuce leaves that should never have left the kitchen. Definitely not worth a return.
Breaded fried skate was inedible. The fish was lost in the breading. Two fried (again bread?) was disgusting.
Chef Sam and staff were amazing. Every dish from starters to mains were prepared exquisitely. Was a perfect way to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday
Enjoyed a lovely Easter dinner with some fellow New Englanders and felt very much like home. Thank you!
Great food and hospitality always - Getting real steamers is such a treat here in L.A.
Menu selection was far more limited than I expected (No Salmon) and we were disappointed that the Clam Chowder used Salt Pork as my girl is primarily vegan and could not eat the soup, which was initially why we chose Connie and Ted's (it's not easy to find good Manhattan style clam chowder on the West Coast). It was a little pricey I thought but overall it was a pleasant experience, not sure if we will be back though.
Always a great experience at C&T's. Took a foster kid there for Easter dinner, and he tried mussels for the first time and loved it. Service is attentive and friendly. Food is consistently luscious and fresh. Lively atmosphere, with view of open kitchen.
