Had a long-postponed Valentine's Day date here with the hubby, and we had a great time. Best key lime pie of my life!
Connie and Ted's always delivers on the freshest cooked to perfection fish & seafood, delicious drinks, and friendly staff. Their rewards program is a BIG plus.
always fun a great food here... reminds
us of new england!
Great fish tacos. The fried calamari and stuffies are not shabby!
We shared the lobster roll and the cap steak. Everything was delicious as always!
I enjoy dining here and decided to celebrate my birthday here. Different vibe on a Monday. The wait staff didn't seem as attentive. Our dinners were delicious, but we had a late reservation and they were out of our top choices. I love the selection of fish and they are accommodating with prep. The assortment of icy desserts was delicious. I really liked the almond milk sorbet.
We love this place! The food was fresh and delicious, the service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is what a casual seafood restaurant should feel like. They also have indian pudding for dessert which I have not had since a child in New England. It was great! Can't wait to go back.
Great soup special that had New England clam chowder with a topping of Manhattan clam chowder. Great oysters.
Last night this restaurant hit a new low with its appalling managers. Also, it has unfortunately become just an expensive fast food and takeout. That’s Management priority it seems. No longer a fun WeHo local. We arrived for my birthday and the hostess was already in a bad mood due to takeout order mixup issues. Not our concern, but it’s tough when they are in a bad mood. We sat outside and we’re halfway through our meal when guests sat down behind us and complained of being cold. The heaters above my head were turned on full, and we became very hot and uncomfortable. We asked to have the heaters turned down, but were told we had to move to another table as there were 3 of them and only 2 of us. Go figure. We got up and left and will NEVER go back. Their choice. Sorry.
Food was good. Service left something to be desired. Definitely not the level of service expected for the price point.
It was great. The sweet hostess with the arm tattoos was lovely.
Service left something to be desired, food was good but a little overpriced
First time here. More visits to come. Best seafood in Hollywood
Birthday celebration of 4 friends. 3 oyster lovers, one clam. Clams too big.
Food is great. This time the service was very, very slow.
Thought I was back on the East Coast great oysters great whole belly clams fabulous lobsters and that’s just part of the menu fabulous lobsters and that’s just part of the menu service was fabulous the food was over-the-top great.
Connie and Ted's has gone downhill. We've dined there 3 times before and had great experiences. The last time we were there was maybe 2.5 years ago, so we decided it was about time to head back with some friends. We were SO disappointed! Horrible service! First of all, they sat us at a table at the bar! It's not like I made this reservation the night before - I had made it about a month before. They had a MONTH to prepare for our party of 6 and seat us at a decent table. Second, I had the whole grilled fish (not the Monk Fish...the other one on the special menu) and it smelled fishy! The oysters we ordered were good (we ordered 4 different kinds), but the grilled fish was NOT! We were embarrassed that we brought our friends here! Lastly, we're having a great conversation with friends, we'd had drinks and the waiter came over and told us we were being TOO LOUD?! What a buzz kill! We were having fun! This isn't a Michelin rated, upscale, restaurant....it's a casual-ish restaurant. Hate that they were so uptight. No worries - we walked over to Laurel Hardware afterwards and had a MUCH better time! We had a terrible experience overall at Connie and Teds and we probably, and sadly, will not return.
Drove down from SANTA CLARITA for an impromptu date night dinner before heading out to a party. Started with the Born in East LA cocktail, enjoyed all 3 types clam chowder on the cold and rainy day. It was perfect!!! Hubby had the oyster sandwich and I had an assortment of fresh oysters...the oysters were so delightful and juicy! Our mouths are still watering from the memory of delicious meal two days later! We ❤️ Connie and Ted’s!
Service was very mixed. Not the most attentive waiter and after taking app orders didn’t come back for 20 mins to get our mains ordered. Very slow in brining drinks from bar. Getting a beer took 15 mins. Kinda disappointed and with so many great places in LA not sure we’ll come back.
Best New England Clam Chowder in all of Los Angeles. Lobster Roll is AMAZING.
Connie and Ted's never disappoints. It's a favorite
I love the oysters and I always get a dozen to start the night. This time I had white sea bass for dinner and it was delicious! The service is always great!!
Connie and Ted's is one of the most broadly approachable seafood restaurants in LA. It works both as casual dining or for a special occasion. The atmosphere is casual but the restaurant clean and tidy. The food isn't cheap but neither is it exorbitant or pretentious. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, with reasonable service intervals even when the place is busy. They have a great selection of oysters for the shellfish inclined and so one can sample varieties from all over the country. The fish tastes fresh and is simply yet expertly prepared. On this most recent visit I had a great piece of cod, which flaked beautifully and was juicy throughout. There is a great mix of sides ranging from healthy (savory broccolini) to pure comfort food (mac & cheese) and the blondie is a sweet and filling treat to close out a great meal.
The menu focuses on shellfish. I had the lobster roll with slaw. It was fine but I don't think I would come back for it. The raw oysters my husband ordered were quite good. Would return for the oysters.
We've been there twice and the interior design is a bit noisy.Still, if you want good fresh seafood, they deliver.
Best hot lobster roll. Ever.
AS ALWAYS, THE STAFF IS CHARMING AND THE FOOD EXCEPTIONABLE.
Was tardy for my reservation, but staff was understanding and sat me promptly on a Friday night. Dessert is the best I've had: blondie. Beers: IPAs were fantastically suggested.
I've eaten there often but this time the people at the hostess desk seemed to have an edge and an overdose of attitude. Even though we booked early in the evening and the restaurant was half empty, the only tables they offered were by the door to the chilly porch that constantly opened and closed; or on the porch. They wouldn't seat us at a four top because they had to save those they said.
It was a very cold night. We ended up on the porch. They grudgingly lit the heater but told us it was on now they couldn't be turning on and off. So we roasted. Later they came to offer a table but by then we were disgusted. The food is wonderful. Our waiter was wonderful But rules needn't be writ in stone. It cast a pall over the evening.
BTW, By the time we left, half the coveted four tops were still available.
My husband and I just had our second meal at Connie And Ted's , which just happened to be Sunday brunch. This East Coast style seafood restaurant is simply decorated and casual, but has excellent seafood, home made pastas and the best rolled omelet (peeky-toed crab and lobster sitting on a pool of the a delicate lemon and parsley beurre blanc ) I've ever had.
I eat gluten free, and the waiter was cheerful and helpful when I asked about my options.
The Rhode Island clam chowder (brothy without tomatoes or cream) is so good that I ordered 2 bowls to go; I wish they would sell quart containers of it!
Food was great. Happy with all of our choices. Staff was friend and helpful.
Too loud for intimate date conversation but food was great!
We come here regularly for great seafood. Causal, easy, fun place for good food and drinks. Reservations are recommended especially late afternoon and evening. Street and valet parking available.
Great service and delish food!
Excellent seafood and casual ambiance
Friendly, efficient service, as always. But there were some shortcomings in the food this time. The little gem salad, usually a winner, was bland -- except for too much salt -- and the pieces of bacon (an essential aspect) were flabby and fatty, not at all crisp, as they should be. Also, the Friday-night shrimp special, though ample and otherwise well prepared, was also too salty.
The front door staff was obnoxious and poorly organized. The charge person was on the phone so she wasn’t available to make a table assignment. Two others were standing around. Having to wait to be seated when the restaurant is empty because of a poorly organized staff is not good.
My husband and I come to the restaurant quite often because we love the food. We're from the east coast and spend every summer in New England, and we feel like we're back there when we eat at Connie and Ted's.
Great! Great food. Best lobster roll I've ever had, and I've been to some pretty great restaurants in Boston, Maine, New York, Europe etc. topped them all.
Outstanding. My third time there and it gets better each time. You get the imprimatur of a 2 star Michelin chef in a casual environment. Everything is right - the food, the service, the atmosphere. Cimarusti (sp) is truly a great.
First time. Excellent seafood. Waitress was very snappy with the dialog. Good sized martini...well made. We will be back. Wish it was on the West Side!!
