Connie and Ted's
Enjoy one (or two) of 24 California craft beers on tap, while sampling from our large variety of oysters, clams and shellfish, shucked to order, at our Raw Bar. Wind down the day with a classic cocktail at the bar, or enjoy a warm lobster roll outside on the covered, open-air patio overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard.
What Insiders Are Saying
Take Connie and Ted’s for what it is and you will love it: a fun, casual place to grab a cold beer and some oysters with friends. Just don't listen to the hype and expect much more.
Love this place, great food, great service, delicious drinks!
Food was appalling (2 salmon (terrible), 2 lobster rolls (not as terrble as salmon but one of the worst lobster rolls every), chowder (watery)). w a few drinks, $250 plus. Fine if the food was excellent or even good but...
Great great. Great staff. Always a wonderful time.
Connie and Ted's does have a few very tasty signature dishes, such as the Lobster Roll. The chowders and grilled fish are also excellent. However, the place is crowded, the side dishes are nothing to write home about and the service is grudging and brusque. For the prices they charge, it's not worth the traffic, noise and crowded atmosphere. Not a relaxing place to hang out by any standard.
The food was “fine” but nothing exceptional. The server was very nice but not as attentive as I would have liked
The restaurant was quite good and the food was tasty. There was a high level of background noise but it wasn’t over powering. The staff were attentive but not overpowering. Would definitely go back in the future
Our service was a bit slow until we changed servers
Over priced but tasty food! 2 of us ordered lobster but their minimum order is 1.5lbs so at $42/lb. that's a pricey lobster!
Didn’t appreciate sitting right next to the area where the servers and crew have their stuff. Too noisy and narrow
This is one of my fave restaurants in LA. Connie & Ted's gets everything right. Great service, delicious food, tasty cocktails, fun ambiance. And the desserts? #worthit
overly greasy and buttery, yet fish was dry. appreciated the service.
I went with friends on a Tuesday night (when there's no corkage fee for wine) and had an amazing meal. We shared everything and it was all very fresh and delicious! I will definitely be coming back.
The food was outstanding; stuffies, calamari, lobster roll and carrot cake all excellent. We loved everything from the kitchen.
Food was wayyy over priced. Service was terrible. The front of house greeter was stoic and unfriendly and did not want to be there. He should learn to smile and say hello to customers or find another job. The waitress was clueless and it's was my wife's birthday and 'NOTHING'.
Love the food. My husband is from R.I. and loves this place- so do I.
great restaurant with everything good but the noise level is getting louder and louder and harder to enjoy your dinner with friends
We’re regulars because the seafood is always the freshest and the presentation delicious and the service is friendly and knowledgeable!
Have been to C and T's a half dozen times tho we live 80 miles from there. Concerts in LA then to this wonderful place. A little noisy with the kitchen open to the dining area. But that's part of the unique ambiance of this place. My wife and I are also Connie and Ted and we are welcomed there like family. Food is excellent with a lean towards seafood which my wife thinks is the best she has ever eaten. The staff is warm, welcoming and well versed in the food selections. By far our favorite place to eat. Sorry it's so far from us otherwise they would see a lot more of us.
Every visit to Connie and Ted’s is amazing. I make it a point to stop there on every visit to Los Angeles. The service is always great and the food is always yummy. On my last visit I took advantage of the one dollar oysters after 9 PM as well as a hot lobster roll which were all perfection.
I washed it all down with a specialty drink called When Mork Met Fonzie.
Always fantastic and consistent
Incredibly flavorful and fresh! Service was impeccable. Best lobster roll in Cali!
The food was good aside from the lobster roll. The lobster roll was over priced and way to small for the price we paid. The servers and host were nice and accommodating when I requested to be reseated because my girlfriend was cold. Overall a good experience!
Waiter incredibly slow and disorganized and very rude host.
Food is consistently good and the drinks are strong.
Sam Baxter., the chef, is spectacular. He made us several special dishes...fabulous. The oysters at connie and Ted's are the very best you can get anywhere. They serve more than any place in LA...they may serve more than all of the other places put together. The quality of Providence runs through Connie and Ted's...fabulous!
Everything we had was delicious. Have a killer Happy Hour at the bar!
Always delicious New England Seafood with courteous and friendly staff!
The service was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and phenomenal. Got to sit at the "raw bar" area and watch the guys shuck the oysters. It was a special occasion dinner, and it was truly memorable.
Last minute decision and was able to get a quick reservation via Open Table. Service, Food, and drink excellent.
Best restaurant I have found in LA. Consistent, fresh friendly and relevant!
We love C and T
We really enjoyed the atmosphere at Connie & Ted's. There was a good vibe, lots of chatter but not overwhelming. I wish I had caught the name of our server because she was very helpful, efficient and friendly. Drinks and food were good, enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine with dinner. Would definitely return!
The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The seafood is always very good to outstanding, the noise level was perfect early Sunday evening (quiet enough to easily talk) though it can veer towards too loud other times, and the bar always has a surprise up its sleeve. All it needs for perfection is the occasional surprise on the menu as well.
Great service and food as always!
Very overpriced for what you get. I had the steak, it was terrible and the quality of apple bees. It was upsetting that I paid $30 for this. Also, the sides were extremely salty and the fried calamari appetizer was soggy, as if it was sitting for awhile. My fiancé has the lobster, he did enjoy that. I would not recommend this restaurant.
C & T is one of my fave locations for clean eating. However, something seemed off this night. Our server seemed to be out of touch. After two prompts to a server and bus person, we waited for almost 15 minutes for our cocktails to be served. The table to our left was a party of four dudes that were acting like they were in a sports bar. Incredibly loud, a bit obnoxious, and completely inappropriate for this environment. I absolutely love going to C & T and will go again. But what a bummer on this night !
Delicious!!! Every single item, including the cocktails!! Truly felt welcome and 'at home' from start to finish. The entire staff looked like they were having a great time as well. I'm coming back as soon as possible.
We always get the steamer clams -- they are amazing -- and the chowder, a clean, non creamy variety that is clammy and wonderful. Tonight we had grilled fishes (Black Cod and Halibut) and they were beautifully prepared, with pickles, green salad a smashed fingerlings as sides.
The service was not a good as before, with our water glasses going unfilled for a long while, but the staff is always friendly and polite and we were seated outside as requested.
Hadn’t been to Connie & Ted’s in probably three years. What I remembered about my experience was the food was great, but felt a tad expensive.
This time I felt the same way, but service was lacking. The hosting station group of people was very nice, as was our waitress she just lacked general knowledge and didn’t seem too intent on the customer service part and seemed overwhelmed, but had lots of time to joke and talk to other servers. I’m vegan and I know C&T is almost exclusively fish, and asking her for what she’s recommend I could eat she said, “CLAM CHOWDER.” I said how can that be? And she was pushing that it was and after checking she said “OH, I THOUGHT YOU SAID GLUTEN FREE!” Big difference and still never offered me recommendations after the mixup.
Older relative I was with was trying to order a beer and didn’t really understand the small brewery concept and as he struggled to name a few beers he knew, she kinda just sat there and finally I had to speak up and said, “He’s only going to know big name brand beer maybe you can recommend something and maybe let him try it!”
Maybe sounds like nitpicking, that kind of service in a pub on a $12 burger is fine. I think all restaurants in this price range should have more knowledgeable and more professional staff.
