Congress is a locally-owned restaurant & bar where we invite you to enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company in a casually upscale environment.
Our tapas-style dinner menu features a variety of small plates designed for tasting & sharing, so you can sample a variety of fantastic flavors. Chef Mark Ciaburri enjoys working with local seafood and produce whenever possible, and Italian & interior Mexican influences are prevalent is his dishes.
For Sunday brunch, favorites include red enchiladas, housemade chorizo breakfast tacos, and lemon ricotta pancakes with pecan smoked bacon.
Craft cocktails, a carefully curated selection of wines, and local draught beers are all ready for you at our beautiful, locally-made wooden bar.
Congress is a proud supporter of Lowcountry Local First and the Charleston Animal Society.

Call us to discuss booking one of our four distinct spaces - patio, main dining area, community table room, & bar - or to book the whole restaurant, offering 150 seats. We will enjoy putting together a dining menu, bar options, and service level that will be sure to impress both you and your guests! Private events may also be booked outside of our regular business hours for events such as bridal brunches and lunchtime seminars.

I often forget about Congress when choosing a place to eat, but I shouldn't. Every time I eat there, I am impressed. Perhaps it's the awkward frontage road which steers me elsewhere, but never again! Congress is right up there with the best Mt. Pleasant has to offer.

The small plate idea seems to be trendy right now, but Congress is good if you just want to have a reasonably priced meal that won't make you panic on the scale in the morning. The dishes that don't look like appetizers are quite sufficient for a reasonable meal portion for one. In fact, some seem hard to share--divide up a plate of fettuccine? Messy. Very friendly hostess and server staff. Despite the "hard" decor, the restaurant was very pleasantly quiet and conducive to conversation. We'll go back.

We went for dinner with friends. We did not realize it was tapas style. We actually really enjoy this. The creativity and quality of the food was excellent. Very nice evening, easy to enjoy company and try some delicious food. We will go back for sure.

Amazing flavors! Most authentic mole in town. We enjoyed the enchiladas and the delicate but rich rotolo, with housemade pasta, butternut puree, and egg yolk... more, please! The food & the service could not have been better. Adrienne, an owner, was a delight, and our host Zackary was wonderful as well. Cheers to a well-considered and excellently executed experience! We'll be back soon!

Very disappointed. Food menu is odd, weird selection. The "special" bruschetta came out on stale store-bought bread that had raw green apples and a drizzle of honey. The chicken enchiladas were generic. The arancini's were 4 non-descript tiny balls on a plate for $10. The only thing that was positive - the wine on happy hour - Barbera d'Alba, Franco Serra for $5 was tasty :) They also brought a complimentary chocolate budino desert for my friend's birthday - it was a chocolate mouse in a teeny cup - very cute presentation - but amazingly salty - inedible. Not sure what it was supposed to be. I will not be returning!

We stumbled upon Congress over the summer when we mistakenly did not make reservations anywhere for 4th of July weekend and what a discovery ! The food was phenomenal, service wonderful, and value incredible. The food was so good that we decided to head back there for our one year wedding anniversary on 10/27 and the experience was just as good as the first time. The food is always fresh and you can tell that the chef takes pride in what he/she puts out. We cannot wait to go back !

What a wonderful experience at Congress! The food was AMAZING (fresh mozz, wild mushroom tagliatelle, skirt steak, budino & tres leche cake)! The music was conducive to a gathering place & the service was impeccable! Highly recomend.

Wonderful atmosphere and food. Better than most any we've had in Charleston. A hidden gem in Mount Pleasant that should not be missed.
