I proposed to my girl friend that night and the staff was very helpful and kept the "secret" adding suggestions to make the evening more memorable. they definitely helped create an incredible memory for us both...a memory we will cherish our entire lives.

I was impressed with your chef and the caliber of food he put out. Unfortunately the service was well below par. Our waiter seemed to be often overwhelmed. It took A while for him to get around to taking our order and made little attempt to engage us as quest. When we were finished with our meal we sat with empty plates in front of us for nearly ten minutes. He never offered us dessert menus even though he knew from our reservation that we were there to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. When i asked for the check he brought me the wrong check not once not twice but three times. I will not be returning to the Compass Room any time soon. While the food was exceptional it unfortunately did not make up for the lack of professional service.

Loved the rotating room as an experience. And it was convenient to go to the Heberger and would go back there if going to the Herberger. But wouldn't go back there because it was such a great restaurant.

This restaurant had a beautiful view and excellent service though we expected the quality of the food to reflect the menu prices and were slightly disappointed. Having said that I would definitely return for the view!

The restaurant was fantastic.. The only downside was the fact that the restaurant would not validate valet parking, and the fact that the cost of the valet parking was too high at $13.00.

Wonderful evening and wonderful food but waiter was not very attentive and seemed liked he would much rather have been somewhere else than at work serving others.

Unfortunately my experience at the Compass was sub par this year because of the service. Last year I had a wonderful experience, but for some reason my server, Julian, was not on his game the evening I dined.
He came to my table and, in rapid fire manner, asked whether I had decided what I wanted to eat this evening (The Hostess had given me the menu and wine list). I was in the middle of looking at the wine list, searching for a Merlot, when he made his request. I told him I was interested in the salmon, the bisque soup, and the Merlot by Mondavi. He said ok and left abruptly. I got soup, no wine for about 15 minutes. When he came back finally with the salmon, he asked if I wanted another glass of wine. Altogether disappointing.

The food was as good as it gets and very reasonably priced for an upscale downtown restaurant. The only problem we has was that we had asked for a window table and we understand that sometimes that would not be possible. when we asked again at the restaurant, the girl did not even check or apologize, she just said that it was not available. There was in fact a window table for four that sat empty the whole time we were there. The excellent food and the service by the rest of the staff still made it a most enjoyable experience.

I have been to this restaurant before and I was young. I brought my fiance with me to the restaurant this time around and she loved it. It was quite and we were able to speak to each other with whispers making it easier to be romantic. The waitresses and their helpers were awesome. They didn't let our drinks get past half empty and made sure we were good all night. There was nothing I had to worry about but my fiances happiness. Amazing views of the city and dim lighting were an equation that worked out a great night.

We had rack of lamb and it was delicious. The service was perfect and we had a lovely dinner. Our waitress warned us that the rack of lamb would take awhile to prepare but it wasn't a long wait at all. I'd recommend the Compass Restaurant to anyone willing to pay a few extra dollars for fine dining. It was well worth it.

My party of 12 went there on Valentines Night, they had a small menu due to the holiday, which I understand.

The food was poor at best, for $89.00 per plate, I would of thought the quality of entrees would be better.

I am sorry to say that I was not the only one disappointed in our party.

I did not have ONE good review....way over priced! Should of been $29.99 per plate!

I like the view but I feel there could be updates made to the interior. The food was good but portion is really small for what you pay. The waitress was awesome!
