Was very happy to see a new life had been breathed into the venerable iconic Como's! The menu was very interesting and everything we had was delicious. Our server, Ian, was fantastic. I loved the music choices. It is a bit on the pricier side for some of the choices, but some dishes and drinks were moderate. Overall I think it's a wonderful experience and you will not be disappointed!
Service average at best...order confused...delay in getting some of the dishes...server forgot to put in some of the order delaying serving of all the food together for the people at the table...Pizza dry...not up to the usual standards of the restaurant I’m sure...
It took over an hour for our food to arrive. Our table had pizza and two brick chicken dinners. The chicken was $19 and had about 4 to 6 ounces of chicken with sauce and nothing else. Way too expensive!
Very appreciative of the time they took with my group people. I had a reservation for 8, and the party kept growing. They accommodated by adding tables as the party grew... loved that.
We went there to have vegan cheese pizza - and they were out of vegan cheese! Disappointing. Ended up having a salad that was good but was very similar to one sold at their other restaurant, Beau’s. Fun atmosphere but was very loud - hard to hear . Excellent service and we were seated at the time of our reservation.
Food was decent, service was super slow......we waited long periods of time after we ordered to get drinks, water and our food. Food was delivered by staff other than our waiter and they had no idea who ordered what, it was kinda just dropped at the table......not sure how soon I’ll go back
great pizza and burgers. caesar salad very good ,but small portion for $9 and skimpy on dressing. service slow. parking a problem and had to pay... that's why I avoid Ferndale and Royal Oak. New owners have done a good job and it appears clean. The pizza could even be a little better than great! Watch out Buddy's, when the word gets around. I will be back....
Great food , great service, really nice ambiance on the patio
Horrible service. Messed up our order 3 times.
Pizza was good. Meatball appetizer and salads were not. Outside patio high tops ok but small round tables and chairs were very unclear. Decor inside restaurant is not good.
My husband and I loved our dinner here. Definitely will be back!
Our server for Sunday was fantastic! They turned down the music per our request, and we felt well taken care of. The prices are on par with Buddys Pizza but things like the salad were a bit overpriced and they had some odd alacarte charges too. The renovation was spectacular, I love the decor. Very clean and inviting and fresh. They need to label the vegan stuff a bit better, there were some mixups but our waitress was on it and I wish the menus online had days/times listed, but otherwise I'd definitely go back again! I also liked the live music that was playing, a great brunch touch!
Dined with wife and friends. We ordered 3 types of pizza and they were delicious; salads were fresh. Nice atmosphere for beer and food.
Pizza not as good as I was expecting.
All I can say was the food was good but the horrendous service made the experience mediocre at best. On top of that the over-the-top volume of bad DJ’d music left our table sitting quiet as we couldn’t hear ourselves think. I’ll have to think long and hard before I go back.
The pizza is delicious, good beer selection and the staff is really nice.
Don't expect to have a quiet meal, it get noisy.
Great waitress. Pizza was delicious. Way too loud!,
Waitress was friendly and polite but it took forever to get drinks. No one would clear the table which was small and we found ourselves having ask the waitress to take plates and glasses so we had room. Table was really too small for salad, pizza and drinks. If we would have had 4 people versus 3 it would have been difficult. Food was good, not overly expensive. Nice interior, but a little loud.
Would not go back
Reserved a table for 6:30 on a Friday. We were running late so we called and they gladly held our table. We arrived about 6:45. Glad I called for a reservation. When we arrived the hostess was telling a man that it would be about a two hour wait for a table.
We were seated right away and our waiter was at the table within minutes to get us drinks. I ordered a small Detroit style pizza and it was as good as any I have ever eaten. My wife ordered a Filet Mignon. Her steak cooked perfectly and very tasty.
Despite being extremely busy and our orders being the fastest thing to cook and the most time consuming thing to cook the staff made sure both meals arrived at the same time and hot.
Although it was very busy we never felt rushed or at a loss to get a hold of our waiter for drink refills, etc. Even though it was very crowded, including people waiting for tables and carry outs, it was never so loud that we were not able to carry on a conversation at normal voice levels. Our waiter made sure to keep us informed of the status off our order. After we finished eating we paid the bill and were out of the restaurant by 8:00. Just in time for the 8:30 concert at the Magic Bag.
Great staff, great food, great experience.
Service was slow. Waitress disappeared for a long time, no refills offered for drinks or water. Had to request our check from someone else. Techno loop/ music was annoying. Food was good, but limited menu. I expected more Italian fare. Wait staff continually walked behind me and bumped into my chair multiple times.
The food and specialty drinks were very good. The filet mignon was delicious and tender. The noise level inside made it difficult for conversation.
Now under new ownership, they remodelled very nice. It was getting busy when we were there. They "forgot" to make our 2nd pizza and we were running late for the zoo. The manager brought our pizza over when it was ready, apologized for the error and took that pizza off our bill. Pizza is great and salads were fresh.
Good food, nice staff, good value. Enjoyed everything about it. Will be back.
Zack Sklar did a better job preserving and improving on this neighborhood institution, than at Beau Jack's. Thanks.
The new Como's has great food in a fantastic location. One of their best features is the outdoor patio. Unfortunately, the music is so loud you need to shout to carry on a conversation with the person next to you. This is a huge drawback and I hope they listen to feedback and turn things down to a reasonable level.
Service was extremely slow and they ran out of dough for the pizzas. Bad experience overall
We went to Comos on the weekend for their famous pizza but were told before we ordered that they were out of pizza dough. This was a bit of a shock given how that is what it is known for and it was only 8:30pm. But, our server recommended we try the gluten free crust instead. We asked if the extra $6 surcharge for the gluten free crust would be waived given they were out of the normal one. She said no. We ended up going ahead because, by this time, we were super hungry, but it was disappointing that they wouldn't waive the charge given we'd booked in advance and came there to have pizza. It wasn't our fault they were out of dough. It seemed like an odd way for them to go about building a customer base. This was also after they were out of guac and two different types of beer. Overall, the place was pretty good, our server worked hard and they were super busy outside (we were sitting inside), but they clearly need to get better at managing their stock and how they handle things when small things go wrong, like running out of dough.
The place was nice. The outdoor area is what this place has going. Any food other then pizza was way overpriced and not good. I had the chicken brick and that had a yogurt cream base and fatty chicken. This was over price considering it was alacart. Others had pizza and was told that was good.
Wonderful reincarnation of Como’s
The pizza was burnt. Too much sauce on the wings. Had to ask for more dressing on both salads. Not up to Social. Will try again in July. How they have got act together by then.
BTW. Parking sucks.
Love the atmosphere! Our server, Paul was very tentative. Was a beautiful day to be outside on the terrace at Como's! We look forward to many other meetings there!!
Pizza was very good but relatively expensive. Location is great but parking can be pain. Ambience and design of interior is really cool. Looking forward to going back to eat on the patio soon!
The service was pretty good esp considering how busy they were. They were super accommodating of our group of 8 and the 2 kiddos that were super antsy at our table.
We were overall very happy with our experience at Como’s. Our server was excellent and the highlight of the experience. We had the spinach dip (excellent), pizza (good minus the sauce) and key lime pie (amazing). The pizza was overall a good quality and I really enjoyed the crust, but the sauce was incredibly acidic and felt like heartburn waiting to happen. Other than that, we were very pleased with our experience. The patio was very busy and has communal seating, which we don’t mind but others might not enjoy. All in all, a great experience.
Food was so delicious I went two nights in a row, had the Roni both nights. Service and staff was terrific. Cool atmosphere.
Have to be patient, since they've only been open a short while...I'm sure they'll work out the quirks.
The pizza tasted delicious, but grease was dripping off my plate, my napkin/fingers and serving plate. The Antipasto salad was barely that...barely any salami, tasteless cheese, no pepperoncine, no olives, no chick peas...just the usual lettuce, tomato and onion. Noise level was extreme. While we sat indoors, the outside was equally loud with overly piped in music. Service was attentive and fun.
Will wait a while before we try again.
Needs work. The atmosphere was good but noisy. Service was slow and choppy. It took way too long to get drinks. The pizza was fine, but nothing special. I thought it was too salty. I’ve never complained of too many toppings, but they seriously overloaded the pepperoni. And it was overpriced. Granted, we had drinks, but $70 a person for a pizza dinner seems a bit much.
We had a great time at Como's on the patio! There are are great gluten free options.
We sat on the patio. Nice ambience and not as noisy as the interior restaurant. Our server was very friendly, but service was a bit spotty. Also, due to a mishap in the kitchen, our appetizer did not arrive until *after* our pizza. We had even asked when it was coming before the pizza came, but whatever happened wasn't communicated to us (or, apparently, our server) in a timely fashion. Both the appetizer and the pizza were tasty, it just would've been preferable to have them in the correct order. There was also no offer to knock all or even part of the cost off our tab to apologize for the error. We will still go back, it's just less likely we'll order an appetizer. Finally, we did not order alcoholic drinks because they all look too overpriced.
