Great food, great ambiance - we highly recommend Como!
The food was excellent. Service was excellent. We really enjoyed our evening. The restaurant was loud, which was not as enjoyable.
The small plate menu has exceptional tastes and variances to typical Italian restaurants. The Brussels sprouts and apple, and the pork belly were our favorites. For 3 people including cocktails we ended up around $50 per person plus tip. Considering the beautiful decor and free parking, it exceeded our expectations.
I tried this restaurant a couple weeks after it first opened and returned to give it a second chance. I sat by the wall away from the windows. There's a nice view, but also a draft from the vents directly above the table, which made for an uncomfortable chill on a cool night. Wines are priced on the high side, both by-the-glass and bottle.
I ordered the butternut squash soup for a starter, but the waiter returned to tell me the chef had substituted sweet potato soup that evening and to ask if that was okay. It was somewhat sweeter than butternut squash, but decent.
I ordered the Tajarin with Tartufo Nero. It needed more butter and the black truffle was stale. After I mixed in a tad more butter, it was good (I avoided the truffle after the first taste).
Ordered the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Major fail. My server delivered it shortly after I ordered and I wondered how was that possible, a soufflé has to be made fresh and served immediately out of the oven. This looked like it was baked the day before and kept in the fridge--it had fallen flat and had a consistency like heavy chocolate mousse. Definitely not what a soufflé should be.
Service was decent. One waiter in the dining room, but it wasn’t full.
Beautiful views, modern bistro style place. The service was attentive, very homey and friendly.
We loved carpaccio, Salciccia pizza with caramelized onions and tasty sausage - was the best we had. Also house made wild boar pappardelle pasta was delicious. Risotto with crab meat was tasty, but huge portion; I would prefer less rice and more crab, and a little too rich...
Would love to see more seafood dishes on a Menu as the restaurant sits on waterfront. Loved Aperol Spitz cocktail! Didn’t like much short ribs - too dry on my opinion. They have homemade pasta, but unfortunately not in-house made desserts... The waiter warned us that their version of cheesecake is too flowery scented....yes, very strange taste as you eat perfume - won’t recommend it.
Otherwise we enjoyed the service, the views, quality homemade pasta and one of the best pizzas! Will be back!
Our first time to COMO. It was great. Love the decor and vibe. We’re eating plant based foods right now - it was easy. Our wait person was perfect.
The menu was limited. The salads were so-so. The noise level was high even at 5 PM. The service is OK. The items we ordered were not anything to write home about. Great view. I cannot say that we were thrilled about our experience.
Excellent food, wonderful server. The person who appeared to be the owner was somewhat aloof. And the noise level was terrible-extremely loud which took away from a very nicely decorated restaurant in a great location. We could hardly hear one another speak because of what sounded like shouting from other diners. I am no sure if I would recommend it even with great food and wine.
I would have expected that the food be more delicious and the menu be more richer. Also the waiter was offly pushy and rude. We felt our dad was trying to shuffle food down our throat than a nice dinner experience. the waiter didn't want to listen to what we were saying and complained when we asked more questions.
I went on a double date here recently, and every one of us loved our food and the experience. We will be back soon and often.
Our favorite place in the Eastside. Food is getting better every time.
Enjoyed the pasta! Good selection of reasonably priced wine by the glass and attentive service. Noise level very high and I needed to talk uncomfortably loud to be heard across the table. Could definitely hear all of the conversation from the tables on both sides of us due to the noise level and the fact that the tables for two are lined up closely to one another with one of each party facing the wall. Will definitely try again but if the seating arrangement and the noise are the same that will likely be our last time. That is unfortunate.
Great view and good food, tasty cocktails. Only disadvantage was that they immediately brought the bill after we said we did not want desert, whilst we could have enjoyed another cocktail
Fantastic costume service first class.
Ambience, food, service, are all great, if you decide to bring your own wine the corkage is 35 a bottle which is high, that being said they have a good wine list, a salm for help pairing and a full bar. We had the pappardelle, braised pork and pork belly app, they were all amazing and to drink the gaja barolo. Highly recommend Como
All tables have a fantastic view of Lake Washington. Creative menu: We loved our flavorful braised ribs and polenta; and oxtail and sweet potato gnocchi. Lovely wine and cocktail offerings. Friendly, efficient, and professional service. We highly recommend Como and plan to return, including for special occasions.
Portions on the smaller side, given pricing. Staff could use some polish. Presentation attractive. Menu nicely varied. Beautiful view.
The wild boar was phenomenal! It paired really well with their new barbera that they had just added to the wine by the glass list. Would highly recommend!
Our first trip to Como turned out to be a lovely way to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. Our waiter was terrific, both knowledgeable and welcoming. The food was nicely prepared but the dishes weren't quite to our taste. The gem salad had interesting flavors but seemed oddly dry, with little dressing on it. And the NY steak was prepared in a way that was too sweet for our palette. (Perhaps in a balsamic vinegar?) The dessert, recommended by our waiter, was fabulous!
On last quibble: it seemed to take a long time for food to make it from the kitchen to the table.
We agreed we enjoyed the experience enough to come back and try other items on the menu.
Everything was great except the food. Some of the food was great, some good and some really not good.
Fantastic food, experience, environment, service, wine and drink selection. Will be back for sure.
Our first visit. Food and service were outstanding across the board. Only concern worth mentioning was that the restaurant was full on a Saturday evening, and the noise level got to the point where the 4 of us would often have to repeat what we'd said across the table, even though we were already talking loudly. Probably related to the relatively low hard-surface ceiling. Nonetheless we will definitely return; perhaps on a weeknight next time.
It's a great place for a smart casual date and cocktails. Probably just a touch expensive for what it is, but one must consider the location, and the rent, and the view. Very Chic overall and the bartender Mike is a great drink crafter.
Great location and wonderful atmosphere; service was ok and food was good but prefer sister restaurant, Cantinetta.
Fabulous restaurant all around. When the server is authentic to the style of restaurant, super confident in their profession and skin, who can help steer guests In large groups while making the guests super comfortable, what else could you ask for. Great experience.
Crab risotto had a bunch of shells in it. I showed the owner the ones I had pulled out and he said something along the lines of “that’s just how crab is” and took it away. I later told the waitress and she apologized and did a 50% discount on the dish. Disappointing because I really liked Como when they first opened. Black cod was too fishy and not as good as their old parchment halibut dish as well.
Como is a good idea in a good location with great service but mediocre food, small portions, and high prices.
Each dish we had was too salty - including the salad.
The selection is also pretty small, and it’s quite noisy.
If you're looking for a good view, this place fits the bill. But if you're looking for good Italian food, go somewhere else.
Delicious meal, impeccable service, great value
Great ambiance food and service
We were celebrating a birthday and had a 6:30 reservation for 3, for which we were seated promptly at a lovely window table. The food was authentically old world Italian and delicious. It would have been nice to have the boar ragu pasta served hotter but it was still good. Our personable server was outstanding with just the right amount of attentiveness and efficiency. My only complaint was the excessive noise level. Loud from the get-go, it only amped up as all the tables filled and we found ourselves straining to hear our own table conversation. This lakeside location could be intimate and even romantic if it wasn’t so noisy. Hopefully the management will add moresound dampening measures.
The food is quite good but the acoustics are just about the worst I've ever experienced. The wait staff were kind, but could not hear us and confusion ensued. I am worried about the long term impact of the noise on their hearing.
Service, food and atmosphere all fantastic.
This is the second time that I dine at Como and the food has been excellent. Unfortunately, this second time I went with my family and 3 out of 4 got sick of our stomachs so it must have been something in the food.
This was my first time at Como. The food was great and so was the service. Love the decor. It was very loud and hard to hear over the table.
Very disappointed. We waited for an additional 30 minutes following our reservation time, the restaurant was incredibly loud to the point that my husband and I couldn't have a conversation across the table, wine glasses and pours were inconsistent though priced equally, and the value was not there. The Black Cod made up for the lackluster waygu polpette as a bright spot on the menu.
The food was fantastic, and the service could not have been better! Try the sweet potato gnocchi. I will definitely go back!
The noise level at Como was not conducive to conversation. If there is anyhting you can do, it make the meal perfect!
Room was beautiful but Noise level was so high it was painful.
I have been twice and enjoyed the design, food, and service but the noise level is unbearable. This last visit was midweek, the restaurant was not crowded yet the noise from normal conversation of the other patrons a was echoing throughout the space. The waiter could not hear our orders and my friend and I were struggling to have a conversation.
For this reason I would not recommend the restaurant.
