The food is very delicious and the staff are all very professional and courteous. Great venue, we sat outside to enjoy the weather and the view. Delicious recommendations from Heather our server. I'll be back again soon!
Our food was exceptional and the service was great. We were very well- attended. I WILL be back!
Enjoy everything the service here was absolutely amazing
Always enjoyable. delicious food, beautiful space, strong coffee, and a great mission!
The waitress had some difficulty with recording our food choices and asked several times what we had wanted. With more practice I am confident that she will be much better. Overall a very good meal and we will be back!!!!!!
Only issue was that my order was incorrect but it was addressed quickly and efficiently.
Always a pleasure to dine at Community Matters Cafe
Great food and a great mission behind it! Love supporting businesses like this that give back to those in need, especially those struggling with addiction. Will be back when I’m in Charlotte again.
This is our new go-to for Saturday breakfast. I could eat the sweet potato hash every day! Our server, Ebony, was sweet, efficient, knowledgeable about the menu...couldn’t ask for more.
Absolutely wonderful mission and environment. Unlike anything in our community. Was fantastic
Amazing food and service! You feel a true sense of community every time you walk in.
What a great atmosphere! I highly recommend it. Very convenient.
This was my first time here, and I was incredibly impressed. I didn't realize it was in the shadow of Panther Stadium. I definitely recommend.
Food and service were outstanding! I really love the model and the mission associated with the restaurant. It make it even more of an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend it!
You can’t go wrong with this community matters cafe, can’t wait to get back
Just an overall inspirational and moving cause. Food was impeccable and dessert was out of this world.
We had a great experience for Valentines dinner at Community Matters. We love this establishment- the vibe, the mission and the staff. This was our first night time experience there, and it did not disappoint! The noise level was not too loud, and there was plenty of spacing between tables, so that on a special night like Valentine’s, I could enjoy conversation with my date, and not feel like the next table over was party to our talk. The homemade focaccia was excellent, and the pork chop, grits and collards were spot on. Finished up with homemade 4 layer chocolate cake and a black pepper cheesecake that was artfully presented with lemon curd, meringues strawberries and flowers. Dave, our server, was personable, and helpful with the menu. Best Valentines dinner in many years!
Took my team to lunch there today. We all got different dishes and everyone loved their food! Service was great, too. Even when my pancakes came out warm (I’m a stickler for hot food) the server offered to have them remade with no problem! The sweet potato pancakes are awesome by the way.
I introduced two people to Community Cafe on Feb 14th, they each enjoyed the experience, the history and will be back on their own (w/o me).
It was a wonderful first vist for our group. The servers could not have been nicer and m;ore attentive. I love the work you are doing here and we will definitely spread the work and be back soon.
Love the mission. Love the execution. Love supporting this restaurant.
This is one of my favorite cafes in Charlotte! Fabulous ambience with exceptional service. All the breads and pastries made in house- with fresh ingredients! Best of all it’s a nonprofit (part of the Charlotte Rescue Mission) that is teaching recovering addicts hospitality skills. And there’s loads of free parking in the lot onsite. Highly recommend!!
My daughter and I went there for the first time on January 11, 2020. The host and server were both friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the food which was served in a timely fashion. It was fresh and well-seasoned. My daughter said "10 of of 10, would eat here again!" when she finished her omelette with cheese grits!
Excellent as always. Great atmosphere, service and cuisine.
Enjoyed learning about the mission of CM
Great food and ambiance. Really nice setting just West of the BofA stadium and it offers a nice view and setting. What a great concept here and the food and service was spot on!
The cafe exceeds expectations; I have been there several times and enjoyed each visit. Food is fresh; bread made in house; and staff eager to please. It is a cheery place with a meaningful mission! The design works for all types of groups with both small and large seating capacities as well as a private group meeting room and patio dining, weather permitting.
Always the best. Best service, best food. And the mission of this great place is terrific. I really like introducing friends to CM and invariably they love it! Community Matters is my “go to”! so I’m a “frequent flyer” and loyal customer.
Coffee roasted on site, (best in Charlotte). Farm fresh eggs, breakfast all day. Amazing sweets and breads all baked in house wrapped in a Mission that raises up men and women in addiction.
Wonderful experience. especially to see recovering graduates learning new skills.
THE MEAL AND SERVICE WERE BOTH EXCEPTIONAL!
It was also quiet
A real “find” in Charlotte!
Wrong drinks. Couldn’t get wait staff attention to get condiment.
This was my 4th visit and the only visit with subpar service.
Always outstanding. Love Community Matters and especially appreciate their mission to make a lasting difference in countless lives thru Doves Nest and the Charlotte Rescue Mission.
Of special note on this visit to CM was our server Nichole. Just delightful.
Just an excellent experience in every way, this time breakfast. I am a loyal fan of Community Matters . This organization truly lives out their Christian purpose every day. It was the realization of wonderful vision to develop and open Community Matters.
Thanks to you Tony and your team.
We came to Community Matters Cafe for a brunch. I like that I was able to make a reservation since there were 6 of us. The service was great. The food was very good and the ambiance was very inviting. I highly recommend this place.
My best new lunch place! This is an awesome place to hold a meeting also, they have a beautiful meeting room in the back of the Cafe.
I ate at CM Cafe for the first time in July. At that time, I reported that the food was very good, coffee was great, ambiance was nice and peaceful, and service was friendly. I had only 3 issues: I was never offered a coffee refill; service was slow; and--most importantly--I was incorrectly marked as a "no show" on Open Table even though I provided my name when I walked in and reservation was confirmed. (This is especially concerning given that multiple no-show can lead to expulsion on OpenTable.)
So this weekend I gave CM Cafe a second chance to see how it compared. The food was once again excellent and service was friendly. I am happy to report they solved the no-refill issue by providing a full carafe of coffee so that I could refill myself; excellent improvement. Unfortunately, the other two issues still remain, perhaps worse. The service/food was again rather slow. (It took about 10 minutes from the time we were seated before someone came to take our order, and then another 20-25 min to receive any food. Moreover, I was charged for 2 coffees even though I only ordered one, but they kindly fixed the error.)
The main disappointment is that for the 2nd time in a row I was marked as a "no show" on OpenTable. (It was a completely different person checking us in this time so it's not just the same person making the same mistake repeatedly.) So, like last time, I had to take my time by reporting the error to OpenTable and then, per their request, digging up a receipt and emailing back to OpenTable to rectify.
I really want to rate this place an A+, but when the very first action as soon as I walk into the restaurant (i.e., checking me present on OpenTable) is consistently messed up, it's a time-consuming frustration. I'll give them another chance because I really want to support the place, but this issue in particular does need to be fixed. I don't mind the longer wait for food/service as much, but faster would indeed be better.
Meaning behind the food. So good.
Neat renovated warehouse ambiance. Good food with good Southern fare.
