COMMUNION is a place where you feel seen. A place that feels like comfort, rest, relief, and peace. Our mission is to provide the food, the familiarity, and the intimacy that make you feel at home.

Chef Kristi Brown has spooned her way through the culinary industry for the past 28 years. Starting at a small café in downtown Seattle, Kristi has done just about everything from dishwasher/prep cook to running her own catering business for nearly a decade. From the beginning, her vision was to focus on the art and experience of food through culinary activism. A purpose powered by her mantra, “Everybody’s Gotta Eat!” Chef Kristi desires to build community through the cultivation of fresh food and fine cooking.

Food was mediocre and service was meh. Most of the waiters looked annoyed or acted like they didn’t want to be there. Won’t be going back. Highly disappointed!

The yeast rolls were delicious. Enjoying greens and tibs as leftovers today. Thank you for having us in the space, the Chamber of Connection enjoyed our meal.

Visiting this restaurant was a treat for sure. After attempting to try and get reservations for the last couple of years when in Seattle, we were finally able to get in and they did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing, the service was wonderful and the ambiance was perfect. If looking to expand we could so use something like this in Portland.

If you miss June Baby - Communion will definitely satisfy you Southern Cravings. The R&B Fritters, Grilled Okra, and the Relish Plate with Hoe Cakes really stood out for me, but that shouldn’t take anything away from the catfish with papaya slaw, or the grilled shrimp.

My friends and I had a great time at Communion! We shared the deviled eggs and hoe cakes as starters. I enjoyed the ramen(ish) as my entree — so good!! One of my friends loved her dish - the mojo chicken. And my other friend had the mushroom tibs and loved it!! I also had the “hey auntie” as my libation! Everything was delicious!!
