Recommended by a friend. Beautiful restaurant on the first floor of the virgin hotel. Artsy drinks and very creative dishes. We got the sea bass. Rooftop bar is a great place to end the evening

The food was very disappointing, and not worth the price. It was a bit noisy. Our waiter was very good, but that is the only positive thing that we can say.
Atrocious. Run don’t go. Cold food. Poor quality food. Did wine paring the service was so bad we had courses where the wine never showed up.
They pray on the stupid new money of the south financial district. Have no idea what San Francisco food and dining is all about. $1800 for 4 people, I refused to pay for no wine and dog food.
For 1/10 go to Giribaldi, or actually anyplace. I have never in my life been so offended by the service and dog food.
The hotel manager came over and put discount coupons on the table. As a consultation. We left everything on the table as we will never ever ever go to such a horrible place in our lifetime.

Came here on valentines day with my husband, never been here and for my first time it was amazing. The food was beyond incredible ,the staff was very nice and attentive. Overall it was great.

This place was plucked from London and into the Virgin Hotel. Very hip modern vibe with a menu to boot. Cocktails were ok (the Works had way too much stuff in it that kept on sneaking in your mouth) but the food was phenom! Dessert was just ok (chocolate cake had a weird texture). I'd definitely would go back!
Unfortunately my friend's food (both appetizer and entree) were really bad and we had to tell them about it. App was the caviar bites, entree was the cod which wasn't even unfrozen. My food was fine but to have two things come out that were very bad and not well prepared was not good for this place. Waiter was super nice about it but I won't recommend this place to anyone.
This was our first time dining here. We found the atmosphere to be both cozy and energizing. Our service was outstanding. We were informed about changes to the wine list before we opened our menus to ensure our expectations were appropriately set and met. The menu was diverse and appealed to a wide range of eating preferences with our group, including vegan. The cauliflower entree was outstanding!
All in all, a great value for the price. I will definitely return.
This place is absolutely amazing! Staff, ambiance, food and drinks are the BEST. We were celebrating my fiancé’s bday and Keaton took very good care of us. His professionalism and knowledge of the food and drinks was exceptional. Everything he recommend was delicious! Hats off to the owner of this gorgeous restaurant. You’re staff is representing you to the fullest! We are definitely coming back when we’re back in town. I would give this place 100 stars!
We went to celebrate a birthday. The food was just OK. Very small portions and some of it came out cold. The server wasn't great. Our drink order was wrong twice. The music was great but it was so loud that we couldn't talk and couldn't hear the server. Overall just an OK experience.
Loved the Upside Down Tea Party! I will most definitely be coming back!

Food was good. Drinks were good. We didn’t have napkins on the table, we try get the attention of the waiter but he was busy so we had to get from other tables. Little priced but good quality.
I was excited to try because it's the chef behind Quince, one of my favorite restaurants. The food was good, but did not quite meet my expectations. We were a party of four and ordered the rib eye, duck breast, salted cauliflower steak, crab bisque, mushroom side, brussel sprouts, and sunchoke bravas. The bisque and the vegetables were real stand outs. Great flavors and cooked perfectly. The rib eyes were good, but nothing particularly memorable. The duck had perfectly crispy skin but was a little dry and tough. The atmosphere was great. They manage to make it feel open and airy yet warm and cozy. The service was also excellent. I would definitely come back for cocktails and nibbles, but I don't think I would invest in a full dinner again.
Very cool space with a fun, upbeat vibe. Excellent service. Nice wine list. Dinner was excellent. I had the dry aged steak & my buddy had the venison. Brussel sprouts & sunchokes for side dishes. Everything was outstanding!

First time here! Look for server Andy! Super friendly and knowledgeable, gave us the best service! Food overall was great, some dishes were a little too salty but that’s why we washed it down with alcohol. Try the ribeye with brussel sprouts! Honestly we wanted the recipe for the brussel sprouts but we’ll have to just figure it out. The Parker House rolls are a must have also.
Restaurant is in the Virgin Hotel - confusing to find from the street and no restaurant signage to guide you there. Walked over from convention center and the address is takes you to is their coffee shop. Stood outside waiting for my group and several people headed to the restaurant were confused. The menu at lunch is actually brunch which is a little weird for mid week - but I had the grain bowl and it was delicious. Service a little bit slow for our table but not the one next to me so might have just gotten caught behind a big order. Overall though it was a good experience and if I were at a meeting at the convention center I would go again - now that I know how to find it!
Staff alternated between rushing us (while restaurant was nearly empty) and disappearing. My colleague ordered a condiment when his meal was delivered - and we proceeded to wait 15+ min for it to arrive (only after he left the table to find another server)
Our bill was rushed and had incorrect charges first time around.
Overall, an extremely disappointing showing for a venue trying to show itself as first class. The food was just ok, but would have been made possible if the service was passable.
Made a reservation for the New Year's Eve dinner. The atmosphere was just nice for the occasion, and the dinner service flow was fairly smooth, although it ended just 10 minutes to the stroke of midnight, which gave us just enough time to get to the rooftop bar for the countdown to 2020! However, the food was overall excellent, and wine pairing was great too!

I def. would recommend the Commons Club to others. The food was amazing and the wine pairing for the NYE dinner menu was very nice. We loved the ambience and the chilled atmosphere.
They should work a bit on their service. When we asked for a break between the last starter and our entree, the waiter told us, that it will take some time in general. After a few more minutes, the main (btw. the only dish that was not well temperatured, which we complained and was changed after a short talk to the chief waiter) was served without the requested break. The wine paired to the food should also be served right before the food is served and not after (which was okay for most of the courses, cause it was only shortly after, but for others we waited a while). In total we felt a bit pushed, even we took the first time slot of the late dinner reservation, just to get enough time to eat slowly and enjoy our NYE dinner without pressure. I guess they wanted to get finished with everything before 12 to get the party started in the restaurant and for the staff as well.
But even if the service for a 150 Dollar meal plus 40 Dollar wine pairing should be better, the price for the food was absolutely okay and the restaurant is a place I would go to again.
We wondered about the health ordinance on the check, which we know is a new San Francisco thing for employers starting in 2020. Is it really meant to be payed by customers and why it is on a 2019 check if it's new in 2020?

We had their Christmas pri-fixe dinner. Beautiful space, excellent cocktails with food that varied between tasty to meh. Not sure it was worth the $120/pp. we would totally go back for drinks and small bites though.
Loved it!! Everything was wonderful the lighting perfect, noise level. Perfect the seating very comfortable. My husband and I were celebrating Christmas Eve and the staff made the night feel special. But the- food - was fantastic beautifully prepared and so delicious. Really liked the portion size which was not too small and not to big. Will definitely go back.
Christmas dinner. 6 course pricing fixed menu at $120 per head with wine pairing for an additional $30 per person.
Seating at 6:30. At 8:00 we had only been served 2 courses. Not once did the server stop by to refresh drinks or ever ask about our satisfaction.
I asked manager to expedite the food delivery. Upon dong so, and after another 25 minutes had passed, the server delivered 2 courses simultaneously. The second of the two courses were cold by the time we finished the first.
The services was atrocious. The restaurant was a little over half full.
The lobster in the pasta course was raw.
$500 for 3 people.
I plan to call tomorrow to seek a refund.
I always overtip, never complain or send food back.
This is the first time.

Of the 6 course prix fixe Christmas dinner menu, course 3 was a terrifying rendition of a salmon ceviche masquerading as fish and chips. All others were quite tasty.
Lovely Christmas Day brunch. Low key, quiet, good food, leisurely time - we werent rushed.
Had a wonderful evening enjoying drinks with friends and great food in a warm and eclectic environment. We started in the lounge in velvet "smoking" chairs and interesting cocktails and ended with delicious meals in the inviting main dining room. It's expensive, but having spent a total of 4 very enjoyable hours here, totally worth it!
We had brunch here. The food was delicious, the staff friendly, and the place was tastefully decorated. For some reason it took longer than usual for our orders to be ready. So the restaurant compensated us with free pastries. No complaints whatsoever.

Commons Club is the hot spot near Moscone! There is a lively bar scene, cozy tables, and an exuberant, friendly staff! We enjoyed champagne, cocktails and some apps. The gnocchi and the pork belly were outstanding.
While the lobby entrance is underwhelming the bar and restaurant is beautiful, food was a bit underwhelming for a Sunday brunch and no menu for any stand out brunch drinks. Overall the food needs to match the amazing space and it will be filled on a Sunday instead of only two tables with people. Although not part of the hotel the valet service was a mess with this app you have to pay on, it was raining and we couldn't pay on the app, finally did but another underwhelming part of what should be outstanding service for a new hotel.
We had a ball at this place, the Autumn Salad, Halibut, Pork Belly and Duck were all scrumptious.
We also had specialty cocktails that were to die for. The atmosphere was trendy but lively and inviting. Can't wait to go back.
Would not call the noise level energized. Loud in a way to attract people in, perhaps never to return. I prefer to talk with my fellow diners to create meaningful
moment and not have to shout. Informative, helpful and courteous servers.
Enjoyed the food. Service was a 8/10 a little mistake here and there but overall very good. Host (could have been manager) was outstanding - Natalia, if I remember correctly.
